Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock, you who sit above the cherubim, shine out.
Regocijémonos delante de Dios, nuestro Auxiliador; aclamad con júbilo al Dios de Jacob.
Despierta tu valentía delante de Ephraim, y de Benjamín, y de Manasés, y ven á salvarnos.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.

Entonad himnos al son del címbalo, la cítara armoniosa y el salterio.
Oh Dios, haznos tornar; y haz resplandecer tu rostro, y seremos salvos.
Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Tocad la trompeta en el novilunio y en el plenilunio, nuestro día de fiesta.
Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, ¿hasta cuándo humearás tú contra la oración de tu pueblo?
O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
LORD God of Armies, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?
Porque esta es ley en Israel, prescripción del Dios de Jacob.
Dísteles á comer pan de lágrimas, y dísteles á beber lágrimas en gran abundancia.
Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure.
Como rito recordatorio, la impuso Él a José, cuando salió (Él) contra la tierra de Egipto. Oyó entonces (este) lenguaje nunca escuchado:
Pusístenos por contienda á nuestros vecinos: y nuestros enemigos se burlan entre sí.
Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves.
“Libré sus hombros de la carga, y sus manos dejaron los cestos.
Oh Dios de los ejércitos, haznos tornar; y haz resplandecer tu rostro, y seremos salvos.

En la tribulación me llamaste, y Yo te saqué; te respondí escondido en la nube tempestuosa, te probé en las aguas de Meribá.
Hiciste venir una vid de Egipto: echaste las gentes, y plantástela.
Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and planted it.
Oye, pueblo mío, quiero amonestarte. ¡Ojalá me escucharas, oh Israel!
Limpiaste sitio delante de ella, é hiciste arraigar sus raíces, y llenó la tierra.
Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
You cleared the ground for it. It took deep root, and filled the land.
No haya en ti ningún otro Dios; no te encorves ante un dios ajeno.
Los montes fueron cubiertos de su sombra; y sus sarmientos como cedros de Dios.
The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
The mountains were covered with its shadow. Its boughs were like God’s cedars.
Soy Yo Yahvé el Dios tuyo, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto. Abre bien tu boca, y Yo la llenaré.
Extendió sus vástagos hasta la mar, y hasta el río sus mugrones.
She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.

Pero mi pueblo no escuchó mi voz, e Israel no me obedeció.
¿Por qué aportillaste sus vallados, y la vendimian todos los que pasan por el camino?
Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?
Why have you broken down its walls, so that all those who pass by the way pluck it?
Por eso los entregué a la dureza de su corazón: a que anduvieran según sus apetitos.
Estropeóla el puerco montés, y pacióla la bestia del campo.
The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it.
¡Ah, si mi pueblo me oyera! ¡Si Israel siguiera mis caminos!
Oh Dios de los ejércitos, vuelve ahora: mira desde el cielo, y considera, y visita esta viña,
Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
Turn again, we beg you, God of Armies. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,
Cuán pronto humillaría Yo a sus enemigos, y extendería mi mano contra sus adversarios.
Y la planta que plantó tu diestra, y el renuevo que para ti corroboraste.
And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
the stock which your right hand planted, the branch that you made strong for yourself.
Los que odian a Dios le rendirían homenaje, y su destino estaría fijado para siempre.
Quemada á fuego está, asolada: perezcan por la reprensión de tu rostro.
It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
It’s burned with fire. It’s cut down. They perish at your rebuke.
Yo le daría a comer la flor del trigo y lo saciaría con miel de la peña.”
Sea tu mano sobre el varón de tu diestra, sobre el hijo del hombre que para ti corroboraste.
Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.

Así no nos volveremos de ti: vida nos darás, é invocaremos tu nombre.
So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
