Perocché tu solo, o Signore, mi hai fondato nella speranza. Alla Chiesa, e ad ogni anima fedele in quanto ella è membro di questa Chiesa, appartien questo salmo nel senso più nobile, avuto principalmente in mira dallo Spirito Santo. Credesi composta questa bella preghiera nel tempo, in cui Davidde, fuggendo Assalonne, si stava lungi dà Gerusalemme, e dal tabernacolo del Signore.
