Acomodaré á ejemplos mi oído: declararé con el arpa mi enigma.
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

Pourquoi craindrais-je aux jours du malheur, quand l'iniquité de mes adversaires m'environne ?
¿Por qué he de temer en los días de adversidad, cuando la iniquidad de mis insidiadores me cercare?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

Ils se confient dans leurs richesses, et ils se glorifient de l'abondance de leurs biens —
Los que confían en sus haciendas, y en la muchedumbre de sus riquezas se jactan,
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

aucun d'eux ne peut en aucune façon racheter son frère, ni donner à Dieu une rançon pour lui.
Ninguno de ellos podrá en manera alguna redimir al hermano, ni dar á Dios su rescate.
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

Car le rachat de leur âme est coûteux, aucun paiement n'est jamais suffisant,
(Porque la redención de su vida es de gran precio, y no se hará jamás;)

Leur pensée intime est que leurs maisons dureront toujours, et leurs demeures de génération en génération. Ils donnent leurs propres noms à leurs terres.
En su interior tienen que sus casas serán eternas, y sus habitaciones para generación y generación: llamaron sus tierras de sus nombres.
Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

Mais l'homme, malgré ses richesses, ne subsiste pas. Il est semblable aux bêtes qui périssent.
Mas el hombre no permanecerá en honra: es semejante á las bestias que perecen.
Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

Ils sont destinés comme un troupeau pour le Shéol. La mort sera leur berger. Les hommes droits domineront sur eux au matin. Leur beauté se consumera dans le Shéol, loin de leur demeure.
Como rebaños serán puestos en la sepultura; la muerte se cebará en ellos; y los rectos se enseñorearán de ellos por la mañana: y se consumirá su bien parecer en el sepulcro de su morada.
Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.
Mais Dieu rachètera mon âme du pouvoir du Shéol, car il m'accueillera. Sélah.

car en mourant il n'emportera rien. Sa gloire ne descendra pas après lui.
Porque en muriendo no llevará nada, ni descenderá tras él su gloria.
For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

L'homme qui vit dans la richesse sans avoir de l'intelligence, est semblable aux bêtes qui périssent.
El hombre en honra que no entiende, semejante es á las bestias que perecen.
Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
