I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

Mantuve silencio; mantuve mis palabras aún de decir lo bueno, y mi dolor empeoró.

"SEÑOR, hazme saber cuando será el final de mi vida y la extensión de mis días. Muéstrame cuán fugaz soy.
Hazme saber, Jehová, mi fin, y cuánta sea la medida de mis días; sepa yo cuánto tengo de ser del mundo.
LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
“LORD, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am.
Mira, Tú has hecho mis días tan sólo como el ancho de mi mano, y mi vida es como nada frente a Ti. Ciertamente, cada hombre es sólo un aliento.
He aquí diste á mis días término corto, y mi edad es como nada delante de ti: ciertamente es completa vanidad todo hombre que vive. (Selah.)
Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Ciertamente, cada hombre camina por la vida como una sombra. Ciertamente todos se apresuran a acumular riquezas aunque ellos no saben quien las recibirá.
Ciertamente en tinieblas anda el hombre; ciertamente en vano se inquieta: junta, y no sabe quién lo allegará.
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

Cuando Tú disciplinas a la gente por su pecado, Tú consumes las cosas que ellos desean como una polilla; ciertamente, toda la gente son nada sino vapor.
Con castigos sobre el pecado corriges al hombre, y haces consumirse como de polilla su grandeza: ciertamente vanidad es todo hombre. (Selah.)
