He aquí diste á mis días término corto, y mi edad es como nada delante de ti: ciertamente es completa vanidad todo hombre que vive. (Selah.)
Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Oui, l'homme se promène comme une ombre; oui, c'est en vain qu'on s'agite; on amasse des biens, et on ne sait qui les recueillera.
Ciertamente en tinieblas anda el hombre; ciertamente en vano se inquieta: junta, y no sabe quién lo allegará.
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

Détourne de moi tes châtiments! Je me consume sous les coups de ta main.

Lorsque tu châties l'homme en le reprenant pour son péché, tu consumes comme la teigne ce qu'il a de plus précieux. Oui, tout homme n'est que vanité! (Sélah.)
Con castigos sobre el pecado corriges al hombre, y haces consumirse como de polilla su grandeza: ciertamente vanidad es todo hombre. (Selah.)
