1Von David. Erhitze dich nicht über die Bösewichter, ereifere dich nicht über die, welche Frevel verüben.
2Denn wie das Gras werden sie schnell abgeschnitten und wie das grüne Kraut verwelken sie.
3Vertraue auf Jahwe und thue Gutes, bewohne das Land und pflege Redlichkeit:
4so wirst du an Jahwe deine Wonne haben, und er wird dir geben, was dein Herz wünscht.
5Stelle Jahwe dein Geschick anheim und vertraue auf ihn, so wird er es machen
6und wird deine Gerechtigkeit aufgehen lassen wie das Morgenlicht und dein Recht wie die Mittagshelle.
7Sei still vor Jahwe und harre auf ihn; erhitze dich nicht über den, der seine Unternehmungen glücklich hinausführt, über einen, der Ränke übt.
8Stehe ab vom Zorn und laß den Groll fahren; erhitze dich nicht, es führt nur zum Bösesthun.
9Denn die Bösewichter werden ausgerottet werden, aber die auf Jahwe harren, die werden das Land in Besitz nehmen.
10Nur noch ein Weilchen, so ist der Gottlose nicht mehr, und achtest du auf seine Wohnstätte, so ist er nicht mehr da.
11Aber die Elenden werden das Land in Besitz nehmen und an einer Fülle von Heil ihre Wonne haben.
12Der Gottlose sinnt Unheil gegen den Frommen und knirscht wider ihn mit den Zähnen.
13Der Herr lacht seiner, denn er hat längst gesehen, daß sein Tag kommen wird.
14Die Gottlosen haben das Schwert gezückt und ihren Bogen gespannt, um den Elenden und Armen zu fällen, um redlich Wandelnde hinzuschlachten.
15Ihr Schwert wird ihnen ins eigene Herz dringen, und ihre Bogen werden zerbrochen werden.
16Das Wenige, was der Fromme hat, ist besser, als der Reichtum vieler Gottlosen.
17Denn die Arme der Gottlosen werden zerbrochen, aber die Frommen stützt Jahwe.
18Jahwe kennt die Lebenstage der Redlichen, und ihr Besitz wird immerdar bestehn.
19Sie werden in böser Zeit nicht zu Schanden werden und in den Tagen der Hungersnot sich sättigen.
20Denn die Gottlosen gehen zu Grunde, und die Feinde Jahwes sind wie die Pracht der Auen: sie schwinden dahin, wie der Rauch, schwinden dahin.
21Der Gottlose borgt und bezahlt nicht, aber der Fromme ist mildthätig und giebt.
22Denn die von ihm Gesegneten werden das Land in Besitz nehmen, und die von ihm Verfluchten werden ausgerottet.
23Von Jahwe aus werden eines Mannes Schritte gefestigt, wenn er an seinem Wandel Gefallen hat.
24Fällt er, so wird er nicht hingestreckt, denn Jahwe stützt seine Hand.
25Ich bin jung gewesen und bin alt geworden und habe nie einen Frommen verlassen gesehen oder seine Nachkommen nach Brot gehn.
26Alle Zeit ist er mildthätig und leiht, und seine Nachkommen werden zum Segen.
27Halte dich fern vom Bösen und thue Gutes, so wirst du immerdar wohnen bleiben.
28Denn Jahwe liebt das Recht und verläßt seine Frommen nimmermehr. Die Ungerechten werden vertilgt, und die Nachkommen der Gottlosen ausgerottet.
29Die Frommen werden das Land in Besitz nehmen und für immer darin wohnen.
30Der Mund des Frommen spricht Weisheit, und seine Zunge redet Recht.
31Das Gesetz seines Gottes ist in seinem Herzen; seine Schritte wanken nicht.
32Der Gottlose lauert auf den Frommen und trachtet darnach, ihn zu töten.
33Jahwe überliefert ihn nicht in seine Gewalt und läßt ihn nicht verdammen, wenn mit ihm gerechtet wird.
34Harre auf Jahwe und halte seinen Weg ein, so wird er dich erhöhen, daß du das Land in Besitz nehmest; die Ausrottung der Gottlosen wirst du mit ansehn.
35Ich sah einen Gottlosen trotzig sich geberdend und sich spreizend wie die Cedern des Libanon.
36Als ich aber nachmals vorüberging, da war er nicht mehr da; ich suchte ihn, aber er war nicht zu finden.
37Habe acht auf den Rechtschaffenen und sieh an den Redlichen, daß dem Manne des Friedens Nachkommenschaft zu teil wird.
38Aber die Abtrünnigen werden insgesamt vertilgt; die Nachkommenschaft der Gottlosen wird ausgerottet.
39Die Hilfe für die Frommen kommt von Jahwe, ihrer Schutzwehr in der Zeit der Not.
40Und Jahwe hilft ihnen und errettet sie; er errettet sie von den Gottlosen und steht ihnen bei, weil sie bei ihm Zuflucht suchten.

1Salmo de David. NO te impacientes á causa de los malignos, ni tengas envidia de los que hacen iniquidad.
2Porque como hierba serán presto cortados, y decaerán como verdor de renuevo.
3Espera en Jehová, y haz bien; vivirás en la tierra, y en verdad serás alimentado.
4Pon asimismo tu delicia en Jehová, y él te dará las peticiones de tu corazón.
5Encomienda á Jehová tu camino, y espera en él; y él hará.
6Y exhibirá tu justicia como la luz, y tus derechos como el medio día.
7Calla á Jehová, y espera en él: no te alteres con motivo del que prospera en su camino, por el hombre que hace maldades.
8Déjate de la ira, y depón el enojo: no te excites en manera alguna á hacer lo malo.
9Porque los malignos serán talados, mas los que esperan en Jehová, ellos heredarán la tierra.
10Pues de aquí á poco no será el malo: y contemplarás sobre su lugar, y no parecerá.
11Pero los mansos heredarán la tierra, y se recrearán con abundancia de paz.
12Maquina el impío contra el justo, y cruje sobre él sus dientes.
13El Señor se reirá de él; porque ve que viene su día.
14Los impíos desenvainaron espada, y entesaron su arco, para derribar al pobre y al menesteroso, para matar á los de recto proceder.
15La espada de ellos entrará en su mismo corazón, y su arco será quebrado.
16Mejor es lo poco del justo, que las riquezas de muchos pecadores.
17Porque los brazos de los impíos serán quebrados: mas el que sostiene á los justos es Jehová.
18Conoce Jehová los días de los perfectos: y la heredad de ellos será para siempre.
19No serán avergonzados en el mal tiempo; y en los días de hambre serán hartos.
20Mas los impíos perecerán, y los enemigos de Jehová como la grasa de los carneros serán consumidos: se disiparán como humo.
21El impío toma prestado, y no paga; mas el justo tiene misericordia, y da.
22Porque los benditos de él heredarán la tierra; y los malditos de él serán talados.
23Por Jehová son ordenados los pasos del hombre, y aprueba su camino.
24Cuando cayere, no quedará postrado; porque Jehová sostiene su mano.
25Mozo fuí, y he envejecido, y no he visto justo desamparado, ni su simiente que mendigue pan.
26En todo tiempo tiene misericordia, y presta; y su simiente es para bendición.
27Apártate del mal, y haz el bien, y vivirás para siempre.
28Porque Jehová ama la rectitud, y no desampara sus santos: para siempre serán guardados; mas la simiente de los impíos será extirpada.
29Los justos heredarán la tierra, y vivirán para siempre sobre ella.
30La boca del justo hablará sabiduría; y su lengua proferirá juicio.
31La ley de su Dios está en su corazón; por tanto sus pasos no vacilarán.
32Acecha el impío al justo, y procura matarlo.
33Jehová no lo dejará en sus manos, ni lo condenará cuando le juzgaren.
34Espera en Jehová, y guarda su camino, y él te ensalzará para heredar la tierra: cuando serán talados los pecadores, lo verás.
35Vi yo al impío sumamente ensalzado, y que se extendía como un laurel verde.
36Empero pasóse, y he aquí no parece; y busquélo, y no fué hallado.
37Considera al íntegro, y mira al justo: que la postrimería de cada uno de ellos es paz.
38Mas los transgresores fueron todos á una destruídos: la postrimería de los impíos fué talada.
39Pero la salvación de los justos es de Jehová, y él es su fortaleza en el tiempo de angustia.
40Y Jehová los ayudará, y los librará: y libertarálos de los impíos, y los salvará, por cuanto en él esperaron.

1Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
22For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

1Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.
2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb.
3Trust in the LORD, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
4Also delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5Commit your way to the LORD. Trust also in him, and he will do this:
6he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun.
7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret; it leads only to evildoing.
9For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD shall inherit the land.
10For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn’t there.
11But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.
13The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
14The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright on the path.

21The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.
22For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
23A man’s steps are established by the LORD. He delights in his way.
24Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for the LORD holds him up with his hand.
