Salmos 127

Biblia Torres Amat

1Si el Señor no es el que edifica la casa, en vano se fatigan los que la fabrican. Si el Señor no guarda la ciudad, inútilmente se desvela el que la guarda.

2En vano será levantaros antes de amanecer; levantaos después de haber descansado, y acudid al Señor los que coméis pan de lágrimas. Mientras concede Dios el sueño y el reposo a sus amados,

3he aquí que les viene del Señor la herencia, los hijos, las ganancias y las crías de los ganados.

4Como las flechas en mano de un hombre robusto, así los hijos de los justos atribulados.

5Dichoso aquel varón que ve cumplidos sus deseos con respecto a sus hijos; no quedará confundido cuando hubiera de tratar con sus enemigos en las puertas o tribunales.

1Cántico gradual: para Salomón. SI Jehová no edificare la casa, en vano trabajan los que la edifican: si Jehová no guardare la ciudad, en vano vela la guarda.

2Por demás os es el madrugar á levantaros, el veniros tarde á reposar, el comer pan de dolores: pues que á su amado dará Dios el sueño.

3He aquí, heredad de Jehová son los hijos: cosa de estima el fruto del vientre.

4Como saetas en mano del valiente, así son los hijos habidos en la juventud.

5Bienaventurado el hombre que hinchió su aljaba de ellos: no será avergonzado cuando hablare con los enemigos en la puerta.

1Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

2It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

1Unless the LORD builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.

2It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones.

3Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD. The fruit of the womb is his reward.

4As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.

5Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won’t be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.
