Wallfahrtslieder. Von David. Wäre es nicht Jahwe gewesen, der für uns war - so spreche Israel! -

Cántico gradual: de David. A NO haber estado Jehová por nosotros, diga ahora Israel;

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

Wäre es nicht Jahwe gewesen, der für uns war, als sich die Menschen wider uns erhoben,

A no haber estado Jehová por nosotros, cuando se levantaron contra nosotros los hombres,

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

if it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us,

so hätten sie uns lebendig verschlungen, als ihr Zorn wider uns entbrannte;

Vivos nos habrían entonces tragado, cuando se encendió su furor en nosotros.

Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

so hätten uns die Gewässer überströmt, ein Bach wäre über uns dahingegangen,

Entonces nos habrían inundado las aguas; sobre nuestra alma hubiera pasado el torrente:

so wären über uns dahingegangen die stolzen Wasser!

Gepriesen sei Jahwe, daß er uns ihren Zähnen nicht zum Raube gegeben hat!

Unsere Seele entrann gleich einem Vogel aus der Schlinge der Vogelsteller: die Schlinge zerriß, und wir sind frei!

Nuestra alma escapó cual ave del lazo de los cazadores: quebróse el lazo, y escapamos nosotros.

Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

Unsere Hilfe steht im Namen Jahwes, des Schöpfers Himmels und der Erde.

Nuestro socorro es en el nombre de Jehová, que hizo el cielo y la tierra.
