Leeser Old Testament
1Hallelujah. Oh give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for to eternity endureth his kindness.
2Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can publish all his praise?
3Happy are those that observe justice, that execute righteousness at all times.
4Remember me, O Lord, when thou favorest thy people: oh visit me with thy salvation;
5That I may look on the happiness of thy elect, that I may rejoice in the joy of thy nation, that I may glorify myself with thy inheritance.
6We have sinned together with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
7Our fathers did not reflect on thy wonders in Egypt: they remembered not the multitude of thy kindnesses; but rebelled at the sea, even at the Red Sea.
8Nevertheless he saved them for the sake of his name, to make known his might.
9He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up; and he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
10And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11And the waters covered their adversaries: not one of them was left.
12Then believed they in his words, they sang his praise.
13Speedily they forgot his works, they waited not for his counsel;
14And they felt a lustful longing in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
15And he gave them what they had asked; but sent dryness into their soul.
16Moreover they envied Moses in the camp, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.
17The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered over the company of Abiram.
18And a fire was kindled in their company: the flame burnt up the wicked.
19They made a calf in Horeb, and bowed themselves down to a molten image.
20And they exchanged their glory for the similitude of an ox that eateth herbs.
21They forgot God their saviour, who had done great things in Egypt,
22Wonders in the land of Ham, terrible things by the Red Sea.
23He therefore spoke of destroying them: had not Moses his elect stood in the breach before him, to turn away his fury, that he might not destroy.
24And they despised the pleasant land, they believed not in his word;
25But they murmured in their tents, they hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord.
26He therefore lifted up his hand against them, to cause them to fall in the wilderness;
27And to let their seed fall among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
28And they joined themselves unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29And they provoked him to anger with their deeds: and there broke in among them the plague.
30Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and the plague was stayed.
31And it was accounted unto him for righteousness, unto all generations for evermore.
32They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, and evil happened to Moses for their sake;
33Because they had embittered his spirit, and so he spoke thoughtlessly with his lips.
34They did not exterminate the nations, that the Lord had indicated to them;
35But they mingled themselves among the nations, and learned their doings.
36And they served their idols, and these became unto them a snare.
37Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto the evil spirits;
38And they shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with bloodguiltiness.
39Thus were they made unclean through their own doings, and went astray with their own deeds.
40therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, and be felt disgust for his own inheritance.
41And he gave them up into the hand of the nations: and there ruled over them those that hated them.
42And their enemies also oppressed them: and they were subdued under their hand.
43Many times did he deliver them; but they rebelled with their counsel, and they were brought low through their iniquity.
44Nevertheless he looked on when they were in distress, when he heard their entreaty.
45And he remembered unto them his covenant, and he bethought himself according to the abundance of his kindnesses;
46And be caused them to find mercy before all those that had carried them away captive.
47Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks unto thy holy name, to triumph in thy praise.
48Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel from everlasting even to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen, Hallelujah.

1ALELUYA. Alabad á Jehová, porque es bueno; porque para siempre es su misericordia.
2¿Quién expresará las valentías de Jehová? ¿quién contará sus alabanzas?
3Dichosos los que guardan juicio, los que hacen justicia en todo tiempo.
4Acuérdate de mí, oh Jehová, según tu benevolencia para con tu pueblo: visítame con tu salud;
5Para que yo vea el bien de tus escogidos, para que me goce en la alegría de tu gente, y me gloríe con tu heredad.
6Pecamos con nuestros padres, hicimos iniquidad, hicimos impiedad.
7Nuestros padres en Egipto no entendieron tus maravillas; no se acordaron de la muchedumbre de tus misericordias; sino que se rebelaron junto á la mar, en el mar Bermejo.
8Salvólos empero por amor de su nombre, para hacer notoria su fortaleza.
9Y reprendió al mar Bermejo, y secólo; é hízoles ir por el abismo, como por un desierto.
10Y salvólos de mano del enemigo, y rescatólos de mano del adversario.
11Y cubrieron las aguas á sus enemigos: no quedó uno de ellos.
12Entonces creyeron á sus palabras, y cantaron su alabanza.
13Apresuráronse, olvidáronse de sus obras; no esperaron en su consejo.
14Y desearon con ansia en el desierto; y tentaron á Dios en la soledad.
15Y él les dió lo que pidieron; mas envió flaqueza en sus almas.
16Tomaron después celo contra Moisés en el campo, y contra Aarón el santo de Jehová.
17Abrióse la tierra, y tragó á Dathán, y cubrió la compañía de Abiram.
18Y encendióse el fuego en su junta; la llama quemó los impíos.
19Hicieron becerro en Horeb, y encorváronse á un vaciadizo.
20Así trocaron su gloria por la imagen de un buey que come hierba.
21Olvidaron al Dios de su salud, que había hecho grandezas en Egipto;
22Maravillas en la tierra de Châm, cosas formidables sobre el mar Bermejo.
23Y trató de destruirlos, á no haberse puesto Moisés su escogido al portillo delante de él, á fin de apartar su ira, para que no los destruyese.
24Empero aborrecieron la tierra deseable: no creyeron á su palabra;
25Antes murmuraron en sus tiendas, y no oyeron la voz de Jehová.
26Por lo que alzó su mano á ellos, en orden á postrarlos en el desierto,
27Y humillar su simiente entre las gentes, y esparcirlos por las tierras.
28Allegáronse asimismo á Baal-peor, y comieron los sacrificios de los muertos.
29Y ensañaron á Dios con sus obras, y desarrollóse la mortandad en ellos.
30Entonces se levantó Phinees, é hizo juicio; y se detuvo la plaga.
31Y fuéle contado á justicia de generación en generación para siempre.
32También le irritaron en las aguas de Meriba: é hizo mal á Moisés por causa de ellos;
33Porque hicieron se rebelase su espíritu, como lo expresó con sus labios.
34No destruyeron los pueblos que Jehová les dijo;
35Antes se mezclaron con las gentes, y aprendieron sus obras,
36Y sirvieron á sus ídolos; los cuales les fueron por ruina.
37Y sacrificaron sus hijos y sus hijas á los demonios;
38Y derramaron la sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, que sacrificaron á los ídolos de Canaán: y la tierra fué contaminada con sangre.
39Contamináronse así con sus obras, y fornicaron con sus hechos.
40Encendióse por tanto el furor de Jehová sobre su pueblo, y abominó su heredad:
41Y entrególos en poder de las gentes, y enseñoreáronse de ellos los que los aborrecían.
42Y sus enemigos los oprimieron, y fueron quebrantados debajo de su mano.
43Muchas veces los libró; mas ellos se rebelaron á su consejo, y fueron humillados por su maldad.
44El con todo, miraba cuando estaban en angustia, y oía su clamor:
45Y acordábase de su pacto con ellos, y arrepentíase conforme á la muchedumbre de sus miseraciones.
46Hizo asimismo tuviesen de ellos misericordia todos los que los tenían cautivos.
47Sálvanos, Jehová Dios nuestro, y júntanos de entre las gentes, para que loemos tu santo nombre, para que nos gloriemos en tus alabanzas.
48Bendito Jehová Dios de Israel, desde el siglo y hasta el siglo: y diga todo el pueblo, Amén. Aleluya.

3Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

34They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
35But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
36And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
37Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
38And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
39Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.
40Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
41And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
42Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
43Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
44Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
45And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
46He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
47Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
48Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.

27that he would overthrow their offspring among the nations, and scatter them in the lands.

34They didn’t destroy the peoples, as the LORD commanded them,
35but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.
36They served their idols, which became a snare to them.
37Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
38They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted with blood.
39Thus they were defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.
40Therefore the LORD burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.
41He gave them into the hand of the nations. Those who hated them ruled over them.
42Their enemies also oppressed them. They were brought into subjection under their hand.
43He rescued them many times, but they were rebellious in their counsel, and were brought low in their iniquity.
44Nevertheless he regarded their distress, when he heard their cry.
45He remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
46He made them also to be pitied by all those who carried them captive.
47Save us, LORD, our God, gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise!
