E li cavò dalle tenebre, e dall'ombra di morte, e spezzò le loro catene.

Y desearon con ansia en el desierto; y tentaron á Dios en la soledad.

But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

but gave in to craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland.
