Proverbios 9

1Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn her seven pillars.
2She has slaughtered her slaughtering, mixed her wine, and also set her table.
3She has sent her servant girls, she calls upon the wings of the high places of town,
4“Whoever is simple, let him turn here.” As for the one who lacks ⌞sense⌟, she says to him,
5“Come, eat with my bread; drink with the wine I have mixed.
6Lay aside simplicity and live; walk in the way of understanding.”
7He who corrects a scoffer gains abuse for himself, and he who rebukes the wicked ⌞gets hurt⌟.
8Do not rebuke a scoffer, lest he hate you; rebuke the wise and he will love you.
9Give to a wise one and he will become more wise; ⌞teach⌟ a righteous one and he will increase learning.
10The start of wisdom is fear of Yahweh, and knowledge of the Holy One, insight.
11For by me your days shall increase, and years of life shall multiply for you.
12If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you scoff, alone you shall bear it.
13A woman of foolishness is loud, simple, and does not know ⌞it⌟.
14She sits at the door of her house, upon a throne at the high places of town,
15in order to call to those who pass by the road, those who go straight on their way:
16“Whoever is simple, may he turn here!” As for he who lacks ⌞sense⌟, she says to him,
17“Stolen waters are sweet, and bread of secrecy is pleasant.”
18But he does not know that the dead are there, in the depths of Sheol are her guests.

1LA sabiduría edificó su casa, labró sus siete columnas;
2Mató sus víctimas, templó su vino, y puso su mesa.
3Envió sus criadas; sobre lo más alto de la ciudad clamó:
4Cualquiera simple, venga acá. A los faltos de cordura dijo:
5Venid, comed mi pan, y bebed del vino que yo he templado.
6Dejad las simplezas, y vivid; y andad por el camino de la inteligencia.
7El que corrige al escarnecedor, afrenta se acarrea: el que reprende al impío, se atrae mancha.
8No reprendas al escarnecedor, porque no te aborrezca; corrige al sabio, y te amará.
9Da al sabio, y será más sabio: enseña al justo, y acrecerá su saber.
10El temor de Jehová es el principio de la sabiduría; y la ciencia de los santos es inteligencia.
11Porque por mí se aumentarán tus días, y años de vida se te añadirán.
12Si fueres sabio, para ti lo serás: mas si fueres escarnecedor, pagarás tú solo.
13La mujer loca es alborotadora; es simple é ignorante.
14Siéntase en una silla á la puerta de su casa, en lo alto de la ciudad,
15Para llamar á los que pasan por el camino, que van por sus caminos derechos.
16Cualquiera simple, dice, venga acá. A los faltos de cordura dijo:
17Las aguas hurtadas son dulces, y el pan comido en oculto es suave.
18Y no saben que allí están los muertos; que sus convidados están en los profundos de la sepultura.

1Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
2She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
3She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
4Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
5Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
6Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
7He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
8Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
9Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
11For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
12If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
13A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
14For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
15To call passengers who go right on their ways:
16Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
17Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
18But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

2She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.
3She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:
4“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
5“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
6Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
7One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
8Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.
9Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
