Cuando era el hijo de mi padre, el tierno y único hijo de mi madre;

La sabiduría es la cosa más importante, así que, adquiere sabiduría y usa todo lo que posees para que obtengas entendimiento.
Sabiduría ante todo: adquiere sabiduría: y ante toda tu posesión adquiere inteligencia.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.
Aprecia la sabiduría y ella te va a exaltar; ella va a honrarte cuando la abraces.
Engrandécela, y ella te engrandecerá: ella te honrará, cuando tú la hubieres abrazado.
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

Adorno de gracia dará á tu cabeza: corona de hermosura te entregará.

Escúchame, hijo Mío y presta atención a mis palabras y tú vas a tener muchos años de vida.
Oye, hijo mío, y recibe mis razones; y se te multiplicarán años de vida.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Yo voy a dirigirte en el camino de la sabiduría; yo te guiaré por caminos rectos.
Por el camino de la sabiduría te he encaminado, y por veredas derechas te he hecho andar.
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

Cuando tu camines, nadie se va a parar en tu camino y si corres, no te vas a tropezar.
Cuando anduvieres no se estrecharán tus pasos; y si corrieres, no tropezarás.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
When you go, your steps will not be hampered. When you run, you will not stumble.
Aférrate a la instrucción, no la dejes ir; guárdala, pues es tu vida.
Ten el consejo, no lo dejes; guárdalo, porque eso es tu vida.
Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
Take firm hold of instruction. Don’t let her go. Keep her, for she is your life.
No sigas el camino de los malvados y no vayas por el camino de aquellos quienes hacen lo malo.
No entres por la vereda de los impíos, ni vayas por el camino de los malos.

Evítalo, no camines en él; apártate de él y ve por otro camino.

Pues ellos no pueden dormir hasta que hagan el mal y pierden el sueño hasta que hagan que alguien tropiece.
Porque no duermen ellos, si no hicieren mal; y pierden su sueño, si no han hecho caer.
For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

Pues ellos comen el pan de los malvados y beben del vino de la violencia.

Hijo Mío, presta atención a mis palabras; inclina tu oído a mis dichos.

No dejes que se alejen de tus ojos; manténlos en tu corazón.

Pues mis palabras son vida para aquellos que las encuentran y salud para todo su cuerpo.
