Un buon dono farò io a voi: guardatevi dall'abbandonare i miei precetti.
Porque os doy buena enseñanza; no desamparéis mi ley.

Perocché io pure era tenero figlio del padre mio, e unigenito nel cospetto della mia madre:

E quegli mi istruiva, e diceva: Da nel tuo cuore ricetto alle mie parole, e osserva i miei precetti, ed avrai vita.

Non la abbandonare, ed ella sarà tua protettrice, amala, ed ella ti salverà.
No la dejes, y ella te guardará; ámala, y te conservará.

Principio di sapienza egli è lo stadio di possedere la sapienza, e a spese di tutto il tuo comperar la prudenza:
Sabiduría ante todo: adquiere sabiduría: y ante toda tu posesión adquiere inteligencia.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.
Fa ogni sforzo per averla, ed ella ti ingrandirà: ella ti farà glorioso quando tra le braccia la stringerai:
Engrandécela, y ella te engrandecerá: ella te honrará, cuando tú la hubieres abrazado.
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor when you embrace her.
Ella aggiungerà ornamento di grazie al tuo capo, e ti cingerà le tempie di illustre corona.
Adorno de gracia dará á tu cabeza: corona de hermosura te entregará.
She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
She will give to your head a garland of grace. She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”
Figliuol mio, ascolta, e fa con serva di mie parole, affinchè si moltiplichino gli anni della tua vita.
Oye, hijo mío, y recibe mis razones; y se te multiplicarán años de vida.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
Listen, my son, and receive my sayings. The years of your life will be many.
Ti indirizzerò per la via della sapienza, ti condurrò ne' sentieri della giustizia:
Por el camino de la sabiduría te he encaminado, y por veredas derechas te he hecho andar.
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in straight paths.
E quando in essi sarai entralo non troverai angustia a' tuoi passi, ne inciampo al tuo corso.
Cuando anduvieres no se estrecharán tus pasos; y si corrieres, no tropezarás.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
When you go, your steps will not be hampered. When you run, you will not stumble.
Tieni costante la disciplina, non la abbandonare: serbala intatta, perché ella è la tua vita.
Ten el consejo, no lo dejes; guárdalo, porque eso es tu vida.
Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
Take firm hold of instruction. Don’t let her go. Keep her, for she is your life.
Non prendere inclinazione ai sentieri degli empj, e non invidiare la loro via ai malvaggj:
No entres por la vereda de los impíos, ni vayas por el camino de los malos.
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men.
Fuggita, non vi mettere il piede, tirati a parte, abbandonala:
Desampárala, no pases por ella; apártate de ella, pasa.
Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on.
Perocché non dormono se prima non han fatto del male, ed è tolto il sonno a costoro se non han procurato qualche rovina:
Porque no duermen ellos, si no hicieren mal; y pierden su sueño, si no han hecho caer.
For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
For they don’t sleep unless they do evil. Their sleep is taken away, unless they make someone fall.
Mangiano il pane dell'empietà, e il vino bevono della ingiustizia:
Porque comen pan de maldad, y beben vino de robos.

Ma la via de' giusti, simile alla luce (che comincia a risplendere), la quale s'avanza, e cresce fino al giorno perfetto.
Mas la senda de los justos es como la luz de la aurora, que va en aumento hasta que el día es perfecto.

Tenebrosa è la via degli empj: non sanno dove sia il (lor) precipizio.
El camino de los impíos es como la oscuridad: no saben en qué tropiezan.
The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Figliuol mio, ascolta le mie parole, e ai miei parlari porgi le tue orecchie.
Hijo mío, está atento á mis palabras; inclina tu oído á mis razones.

Non li perdere di vista giammai: serbagli in mezzo al tuo cuore:
No se aparten de tus ojos; guárdalas en medio de tu corazón.

Imperocché sono vita per quei, che giungono a discoprirli; e per tutto l'uomo son sanità.

Non torcere né a destra, né a sinistra: ritira il tuo piede dal male: perocché le vie, che sono alla destra il Signore le ama, ma quelle della sinistra sono storte. Or egli farà che diritto sia il tuo corso, e che tu felicemente ti avanzi nel tuo viaggio. Fuggire la meretrice, amare la propria moglie.
No te apartes á diestra, ni á siniestra: aparta tu pie del mal.
