Proverbios 31
Biblia Torres Amat
1Palabras del rey Lamuel. Profecía o doctrina inspirada con que le instruyó su madre.
2¡Qué te diré yo, oh amado mío!; ¡qué te encomendaré, oh hijo de mis entrañas!; ¡qué, oh dulce objeto de todos mis deseos!
3No entregues tu sustancia o bienes a las mujeres, ni emplees tus riquezas en lo que es la ruina de los reyes.
4No quieras, ¡oh Lamuel!, no quieras dar vino a los reyes; porque no hay secreto seguro donde reina la embriaguez;
5y para que no suceda que bien bebidos se olviden de administrar la justicia, y hagan traición a los hijos de la causa del pobre.
6Dad la cerveza o los licores a los afligidos, y el vino a los que tienen el corazón lleno de amargura.
7Beban éstos para echar en olvido su miseria y no acordarse más de su dolor.
8Abre tu boca a favor del que es mudo, o no puede defenderse, y en defensa de todos los pasajeros.
9Abre tu boca, decide lo que es justo, y haz justicia al desvalido y al pobre.
10¿Quién hallará una mujer fuerte? De mayor estima es que todas las preciosidades traídas de lejos y de los últimos términos del mundo.
11En ella pone su confianza el corazón de su marido; el cual no tendrá necesidad de botín o despojos para vivir.
12Ella le acarrea el bien todos los días de su vida, y nunca el mal.
13Busca lana y lino, de que hace labores con la industria de sus manos.
14Viene a ser como la nave de un comerciante que con la industria trae de lejos el sustento.
15Se levanta antes que amanezca y distribuye las raciones a sus domésticos, y el alimento a sus criadas.
16Puso la mira en unas tierras, y las compró; de lo que ganó con sus manos plantó una viña.
17Se revistió de varonil fortaleza, y esforzó su brazo.
18Probó, y echó de ver que su trabajo le fructifica; por tanto tendrá encendida la luz toda la noche.
19Aplica sus manos a los quehaceres domésticos, aunque fatigosos, y sus dedos manejan el huso.
20Abre su mano para socorrer al mendigo y extiende sus brazos para amparar al necesitado.
21No temerá para los de su casa los fríos y las nieves; porque todos sus domésticos traen vestidos forrados.
22Se labró ella misma para sí un vestido acolchado; de lino finísimo y de púrpura es de lo que se viste.
23Su esposo hará un papel brillante en las puertas o asambleas públicas, sentado entre los senadores del país.
24Ella teje finísimas telas, y las vende y entrega también ricos ceñidores, o fajas, a los negociantes cananeos.
25La fortaleza y el decoro son sus atavíos; y estará alegre y risueña en los últimos días.
26Abre su boca con sabios discursos, y la ley de la bondad o amor gobierna su lengua.
27Vela sobre los procederes de su familia; y no come ociosa el pan.
28Se levantaron sus hijos, y la aclamaron dichosísima; su marido también, y la alabó diciendo:
29Muchas son las hijas o esposas que han allegado riquezas; mas a todas has tú aventajado.
30Engañoso es el donaire, y vana a la hermosura; la mujer que teme al Señor; esa será la celebrada.
31Dadle alabanza, para que goce del fruto de sus manos, y que se celebren sus obras en la pública asamblea de los jueces.

1PALABRAS del rey Lemuel; la profecía con que le enseñó su madre.
2¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
3No des á las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos á lo que es para destruir los reyes.
4No es de los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza.
5No sea que bebiendo olviden la ley, y perviertan el derecho de todos los hijos afligidos.
6Dad la cerveza al desfallecido, y el vino á los de amargo ánimo:
7Beban, y olvídense de su necesidad, y de su miseria no más se acuerden.
8Abre tu boca por el mudo, en el juicio de todos los hijos de muerte.
9Abre tu boca, juzga justicia, y el derecho del pobre y del menesteroso.
10Mujer fuerte, ¿quién la hallará? porque su estima sobrepuja largamente á la de piedras preciosas.
11El corazón de su marido está en ella confiado, y no tendrá necesidad de despojo.
12Darále ella bien y no mal, todos los días de su vida.
13Buscó lana y lino, y con voluntad labró de sus manos.
14Fué como navío de mercader: trae su pan de lejos.
15Levantóse aun de noche, y dió comida á su familia, y ración á sus criadas.
16Consideró la heredad, y compróla; y plantó viña del fruto de sus manos.
17Ciñó sus lomos de fortaleza, y esforzó sus brazos.
18Gustó que era buena su granjería: su candela no se apagó de noche.
19Aplicó sus manos al huso, y sus manos tomaron la rueca.
20Alargó su mano al pobre, y extendió sus manos al menesteroso.
21No tendrá temor de la nieve por su familia, porque toda su familia está vestida de ropas dobles.
22Ella se hizo tapices; de lino fino y púrpura es su vestido.
23Conocido es su marido en las puertas, cuando se sienta con los ancianos de la tierra.
24Hizo telas, y vendió; y dió cintas al mercader.
25Fortaleza y honor son su vestidura; y en el día postrero reirá.
26Abrió su boca con sabiduría: y la ley de clemencia está en su lengua.
27Considera los caminos de su casa, y no come el pan de balde.
28Levantáronse sus hijos, y llamáronla bienaventurada; y su marido también la alabó.
29Muchas mujeres hicieron el bien; mas tú las sobrepujaste á todas.
30Engañosa es la gracia, y vana la hermosura: la mujer que teme á Jehová, ésa será alabada.
31Dadle el fruto de sus manos, y alábenla en las puertas sus hechos.
King James Version
1The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
3Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
4It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
5Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
6Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
9Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
10Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

1The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
2“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
3Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
4It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
5lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
6Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.
7Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
9Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.”
10Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.
11The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
12She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
13She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
14She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
15She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
16She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
17She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
18She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
19She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
20She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
24She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
25Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
26She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue.
27She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness.
28Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
29“Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.”
30Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!
