E che, o mio diletto? e che, o caro frutto del mio seno? e che, o amato oggetto de' voti miei?
¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
Non consumare il tuo bene nelle donne, nè le tue ricchezze in quello che fa lo sterminio dei re.
No des á las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos á lo que es para destruir los reyes.
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
Non permettere ai re, o Lamuele, non permettere il vino: perocché dove regna ebbrezza, non v'è segreto:
No es de los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
E perché dopo aver bevuto non si scordino di far giustizia, e non tradiscano la causa de' figliuoli del povero.
No sea que bebiendo olviden la ley, y perviertan el derecho de todos los hijos afligidos.
Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Date la sicera agli afflitti, e il vino a quelli, che hanno il cuore amareggiato:

Questi bevano, e si scordino di lor miseria, e non abbiano più memoria del lor dolore.

Chi troverà una donna forte? il pregio di lei è come delle cose portate di lontano, e dalle estremità della terra.
Mujer fuerte, ¿quién la hallará? porque su estima sobrepuja largamente á la de piedras preciosas.

Ella o simile alla nave di un mercatante, la quale porta da lungi il suo sostentamento.

Ella si alza, che è ancor notte, e distribuisce il vitto alla gente di casa, e il mangiare alle sue serve.
Levantóse aun de noche, y dió comida á su familia, y ración á sus criadas.

Ella provò, e vide come il suo negozio le frutta: la sua lucerna non si spegne la notte.
Gustó que era buena su granjería: su candela no se apagó de noche.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.

Date a lei de' frutti delle sue mani, e lo opere sue la celebrino alle porte. vanità delle cose mondane: nessuna cosa è nuova sotto del Sole: difficoltà, e vanità dello studio, con cui si cerca di investigare le cose.
