Proverbios 28

1The impious flees, though no one pursues. But the just, like a confident lion, shall be without dread.
2Because of the sins of the land, it has many princes. And because of the wisdom of a man, and the knowledge of those things that are said, the life of the leader shall be prolonged.
3A poor man slandering the poor is like a violent rainstorm in advance of a famine.
4Those who abandon the law praise the impious. Those who guard it are inflamed against him.
5Evil men do not intend judgment. But those who inquire after the Lord turn their souls toward all things.
6Better is the pauper walking in his simplicity, than the rich walking in ways of depravity.
7Whoever keeps the law is a wise son. But whoever feeds gluttons brings shame to his father.
8Whoever piles up riches by usury and profit gathers them for him who will give freely to the poor.
9Whoever turns away his ears from listening to the law: his prayer will be detestable.
10Whoever deceives the just in a malicious way will fall into his own perdition. And the simple shall possess his goods.
11The rich one seems wise to himself. But the poor one, being prudent, shall evaluate him.
12In the exultation of the just, there is great glory. When the impious reign, men are brought to ruin.
13Whoever hides his crimes will not be guided. But whoever will have confessed and abandoned them shall overtake mercy.
14Blessed is the man who is ever fearful. Yet truly, whoever is hardened in mind will fall into evil.
15An impious leader over a poor people is like a roaring lion and a hungry bear.
16A leader destitute of prudence will oppress many through false accusations. But whoever hates avarice shall prolong his days.
17A man who slanders the blood of a life, even if he flees to the pit, no one will tolerate him.
18Whoever walks simply shall be saved. Whoever is perverse in his steps will fall all at once.
19Whoever works his land shall be satisfied with bread. But whoever pursues leisure will be filled with need.
20A faithful man shall be greatly praised. But whoever rushes to become rich will not be innocent.
21Whoever shows favoritism in judgment does not do well; even if it is for a morsel of bread, he forsakes the truth.
22A man who hurries to become rich, and who envies others, does not know that destitution will overwhelm him.
23Whoever corrects a man, afterward he shall find favor with him, more so than he who deceives him with a flattering tongue.
24Whoever takes away anything from his father or mother, and who says, “This is not a sin,” is the associate of a murderer.
25Whoever boasts and enlarges himself stirs up conflicts. Yet truly, whoever trusts in the Lord will be healed.
26Whoever trusts in his own heart is a fool. But whoever treads wisely, the same shall be saved.
27Whoever gives to the poor shall not be in need. Whoever despises his petition will suffer scarcity.
28When the impious rise up, men will hide themselves. When they perish, the just shall be multiplied.

1HUYE el impío sin que nadie lo persiga: mas el justo está confiado como un leoncillo.
2Por la rebelión de la tierra sus príncipes son muchos: mas por el hombre entendido y sabio permanecerá sin mutación.
3El hombre pobre y robador de los pobres, es lluvia de avenida y sin pan.
4Los que dejan la ley, alaban á los impíos: mas los que la guardan, contenderán con ellos.
5Los hombres malos no entienden el juicio: mas los que buscan á Jehová, entienden todas las cosas.
6Mejor es el pobre que camina en su integridad, que el de perversos caminos, y rico.
7El que guarda la ley es hijo prudente: mas el que es compañero de glotones, avergüenza á su padre.
8El que aumenta sus riquezas con usura y crecido interés, para que se dé á los pobres lo allega.
9El que aparta su oído para no oir la ley, su oración también es abominable.
10El que hace errar á los rectos por el mal camino, él caerá en su misma sima: mas los perfectos heredarán el bien.
11El hombre rico es sabio en su opinión: mas el pobre entendido lo examinará.
12Cuando los justos se alegran, grande es la gloria; mas cuando los impíos son levantados, es buscado el hombre.
13El que encubre sus pecados, no prosperará: mas el que los confiesa y se aparta, alcanzará misericordia.
14Bienaventurado el hombre que siempre está temeroso: mas el que endurece su corazón, caerá en mal.
15León rugiente y oso hambriento, es el príncipe impío sobre el pueblo pobre.
16El príncipe falto de entendimiento multiplicará los agravios: mas el que aborrece la avaricia, prolongará sus días.
17El hombre que hace violencia con sangre de persona, huirá hasta el sepulcro, y nadie le detendrá.
18El que en integridad camina, será salvo; mas el de perversos caminos caerá en alguno.
19El que labra su tierra, se hartará de pan: mas el que sigue los ociosos, se hartará de pobreza.
20El hombre de verdad tendrá muchas bendiciones: mas el que se apresura á enriquecer, no será sin culpa.
21Tener acepción de personas, no es bueno: hasta por un bocado de pan prevaricará el hombre.
22Apresúrase á ser rico el hombre de mal ojo; y no conoce que le ha de venir pobreza.
23El que reprende al hombre, hallará después mayor gracia que el que lisonjea con la lengua.
24El que roba á su padre ó á su madre, y dice que no es maldad, compañero es del hombre destruidor.
25El altivo de ánimo suscita contiendas: mas el que en Jehová confía, medrará.
26El que confía en su corazón es necio; mas el que camina en sabiduría, será salvo.
27El que da al pobre, no tendrá pobreza: mas el que aparta sus ojos, tendrá muchas maldiciones.
28Cuando los impíos son levantados, esconderáse el hombre: mas cuando perecen, los justos se multiplican.

1The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
3A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
8He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
9He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
10Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.
11The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
13He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
14Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

24Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

19One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
20A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
21To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
22A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn’t know that poverty waits for him.
23One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.
24Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, “It’s not wrong,” is a partner with a destroyer.
