Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.

Toma una vestimenta de alguien que haya puesto fianza para un extraño, y guárdalo como garantía cuando ponga la fianza para una mujer inmoral.
Quítale su ropa al que fió al extraño; y al que fió á la extraña, tómale prenda.
Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
Take his garment when he puts up collateral for a stranger. Hold it for a wayward woman!
¡Quien sea que le de a su vecino una bendición en voz alta temprano en la mañana, esa bendición será considerada una maldición!
El que bendice á su amigo en alta voz, madrugando de mañana, por maldición se le contará.
He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
He who blesses his neighbor with a loud voice early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse by him.
Una esposa que discute es como un gotereo constante en un día lluvioso;
Gotera continua en tiempo de lluvia, y la mujer rencillosa, son semejantes:
A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
A continual dropping on a rainy day and a contentious wife are alike:
retenerla es como retener el viento, o tratar de recoger aceite en tu mano derecha.
El que pretende contenerla, arresta el viento: ó el aceite en su mano derecha.
Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.
restraining her is like restraining the wind, or like grasping oil in his right hand.
El hierro afila al hierro; de la misma manera, un hombre afila a su amigo.
Hierro con hierro se aguza; y el hombre aguza el rostro de su amigo.
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

El que cuida un árbol de higuera se comerá su fruto, y el que protege a su amo será honrado.

Asegúrate de saber la condición de tu rebaño y preocúpate acerca de tu ganado,
Considera atentamente el aspecto de tus ovejas; pon tu corazón á tus rebaños:
Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
Know well the state of your flocks, and pay attention to your herds,
pues la riqueza no es para siempre. ¿Dura una corona por todas las generaciones?
Porque las riquezas no son para siempre; ¿y será la corona para perpetuas generaciones?
For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?
for riches are not forever, nor does the crown endure to all generations.
Cuando el heno desaparece y el crecimiento nuevo aparece, entonces la hierba de las colinas es recogida para los rebaños.
Saldrá la grama, aparecerá la hierba, y segaránse las hierbas de los montes.
The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
The hay is removed, and the new growth appears, the grasses of the hills are gathered in.
Esos corderos proveerán tu ropa y las cabras proveerán el precio del campo.
Los corderos para tus vestidos, y los cabritos para el precio del campo:
The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.
The lambs are for your clothing, and the goats are the price of a field.
Habrá leche de cabra para tu comida-- la comida de tu casa-- y alimento para tus siervas.
Y abundancia de leche de las cabras para tu mantenimiento, y para mantenimiento de tu casa, y para sustento de tus criadas.
And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.
There will be plenty of goats’ milk for your food, for your family’s food, and for the nourishment of your servant girls.
