Schlachter-Bibel 1951
1Beneide böse Menschen nicht und begehre nicht, es mit ihnen zu halten;
2denn ihr Herz trachtet nach Schaden, und ihre Lippen reden Unheil!
3Durch Weisheit wird ein Haus gebaut, und durch Verstand wird es sich behaupten;
4auch werden durch Einsicht seine Kammern mit allerlei köstlichem und lieblichem Gut gefüllt.
5Ein weiser Mann ist stark, und ein verständiger Mensch stählt seine Kraft.
6Denn durch kluge Maßregeln gewinnst du die Schlacht und durch die Menge der Ratgeber den Sieg.
7Die Weisheit ist dem Narren zu hoch; er tut seinen Mund nicht auf im Tor!
8Wer vorsätzlich Böses tut, den nenne man einen Bösewicht!
9Dummheiten ersinnen ist Sünde, und ein Spötter ist ein abscheulicher Mensch!
10Zeigst du dich schwach am Tage der Not, so ist deine Kraft beschränkt!
11Errette, die zum Tode geschleppt werden, und die zur Schlachtbank wanken, halte zurück!
12Wenn du sagen wolltest: «Siehe, wir haben das nicht gewußt!» wird nicht der, welcher die Herzen prüft, es merken, und der deine Seele beobachtet, es wahrnehmen und dem Menschen vergelten nach seinem Tun?
13Iß Honig, mein Sohn, denn er ist gut, und Honigseim ist süß für deinen Gaumen!
14So erkenne auch, daß die Weisheit gut ist für deine Seele; wenn du sie gefunden hast, so hast du eine Zukunft, und deine Hoffnung wird nicht vernichtet werden.
15Du Gottloser, laure nicht auf die Wohnung des Gerechten und störe seine Ruhe nicht!
16Denn der Gerechte fällt siebenmal und steht wieder auf; aber die Gottlosen stürzen nieder im Unglück.
17Freue dich nicht über den Fall deines Feindes, und wenn er strauchelt, so frohlocke nicht!
18daß nicht der HERR es sehe und es ihm mißfalle und er seinen Zorn abwende von ihm.
19Erzürne dich nicht über die Bösen, sei nicht neidisch auf die Übeltäter!
20Denn der Böse hat keine Zukunft, und die Leuchte der Gottlosen wird erlöschen.
21Fürchte den HERRN, mein Sohn, und den König, und laß dich nicht mit Neuerungssüchtigen ein!
22Denn ihr Unglück wird plötzlich kommen und ihrer beider Verderben; wer kennt es?
23Auch diese Sprüche kommen von den Weisen: die Person ansehen im Gericht, ist nicht gut.
24Wer zum Gottlosen spricht: «Du bist gerecht!» dem fluchen die Völker, und die Leute verwünschen ihn;
25aber an denen, die recht richten, hat man Wohlgefallen, und über sie kommt der Segen des Guten.
26Eine rechte Antwort ist wie ein Kuß auf die Lippen.
27Verrichte zuerst draußen dein Geschäft und besorge deine Feldarbeit, darnach baue dein Haus.
28Tritt nicht ohne Ursache als Zeuge auf wider deinen Nächsten! Was willst du irreführen mit deinen Lippen?
29Sage nicht: «Wie er mir getan, so will ich ihm tun; ich will dem Mann vergelten nach seinem Werk!»
30Ich ging vorüber an dem Acker des Faulen und an dem Weinberge des Unverständigen
31und siehe, er ging ganz in Disteln auf, und Nesseln überwucherten ihn, und seine Mauer war eingestürzt.
32Das sah ich und nahm es zu Herzen; ich betrachtete es und zog eine Lehre daraus:
33«Ein wenig schlafen, ein wenig schlummern, die Hände ein wenig ineinanderlegen, um zu ruhen»;
34so kommt deine Armut wie ein Landstreicher dahergeschritten und dein Mangel wie ein gewappneter Mann!

1NO tengas envidia de los hombres malos, ni desees estar con ellos:
2Porque su corazón piensa en robar, é iniquidad hablan sus labios.
3Con sabiduría se edificará la casa, y con prudencia se afirmará:
4Y con ciencia se henchirán las cámaras de todo bien preciado y agradable.
5El hombre sabio es fuerte; y de pujante vigor el hombre docto.
6Porque con ingenio harás la guerra: y la salud está en la multitud de consejeros.
7Alta está para el insensato la sabiduría: en la puerta no abrirá él su boca.
8Al que piensa mal hacer le llamarán hombre de malos pensamientos.
9El pensamiento del necio es pecado: y abominación á los hombres el escarnecedor.
10Si fueres flojo en el día de trabajo, tu fuerza será reducida.
11Si dejares de librar los que son tomados para la muerte, y los que son llevados al degolladero;
12Si dijeres: Ciertamente no lo supimos; ¿no lo entenderá el que pesa los corazones? El que mira por tu alma, él lo conocerá, y dará al hombre según sus obras.
13Come, hijo mío, de la miel, porque es buena, y del panal dulce á tu paladar:
14Tal será el conocimiento de la sabiduría á tu alma: si la hallares tendrá recompensa, y al fin tu esperanza no será cortada.
15Oh impío, no aceches la tienda del justo, no saquees su cámara;
16Porque siete veces cae el justo, y se torna á levantar; mas los impíos caerán en el mal.
17Cuando cayere tu enemigo, no te huelgues; y cuando tropezare, no se alegre tu corazón:
18Porque Jehová no lo mire, y le desagrade, y aparte de sobre él su enojo.
19No te entrometas con los malignos, ni tengas envidia de los impíos;
20Porque para el malo no habrá buen fin, y la candela de los impíos será apagada.
21Teme á Jehová, hijo mío, y al rey; no te entrometas con los veleidosos:
22Porque su quebrantamiento se levantará de repente; y el quebrantamiento de ambos, ¿quién lo comprende?
23También estas cosas pertenecen á los sabios. Tener respeto á personas en el juicio no es bueno.
24El que dijere al malo, Justo eres, los pueblos lo maldecirán, y le detestarán las naciones:
25Mas los que lo reprenden, serán agradables, y sobre ellos vendrá bendición de bien.
26Besados serán los labios del que responde palabras rectas.
27Apresta tu obra de afuera, y disponla en tu heredad; y después edificarás tu casa.
28No seas sin causa testigo contra tu prójimo; y no lisonjees con tus labios.
29No digas: Como me hizo, así le haré; daré el pago al hombre según su obra.
30Pasé junto á la heredad del hombre perezoso, y junto á la viña del hombre falto de entendimiento;
31Y he aquí que por toda ella habían ya crecido espinas, ortigas habían ya cubierto su haz, y su cerca de piedra estaba ya destruída.
32Y yo miré, y púselo en mi corazón: vilo, y tomé consejo.
33Un poco de sueño, cabeceando otro poco, poniendo mano sobre mano otro poco para dormir;
34Así vendrá como caminante tu necesidad, y tu pobreza como hombre de escudo.

1Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
2For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
3Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
4And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
5A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
6For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
7Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
8He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
9The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
10If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
11If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
13My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
14So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
15Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
16For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
17Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
18Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
19Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;
20For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
21My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
22For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
23These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
24He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
25But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
26Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
27Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
28Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
29Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
30I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
32Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
33Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
34So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

1Don’t be envious of evil men, neither desire to be with them;
2for their hearts plot violence and their lips talk about mischief.
3Through wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established;
4by knowledge the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure.
5A wise man has great power. A knowledgeable man increases strength,
6for by wise guidance you wage your war, and victory is in many advisors.
7Wisdom is too high for a fool. He doesn’t open his mouth in the gate.
8One who plots to do evil will be called a schemer.
9The schemes of folly are sin. The mocker is detested by men.
10If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.
11Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!
12If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this,” doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not give to every man according to his work?
13My son, eat honey, for it is good, the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to your taste;
14so you shall know wisdom to be to your soul. If you have found it, then there will be a reward: Your hope will not be cut off.
15Don’t lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Don’t destroy his resting place;
16for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.
17Don’t rejoice when your enemy falls. Don’t let your heart be glad when he is overthrown,
18lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
19Don’t fret yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious of the wicked;
20for there will be no reward to the evil man. The lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
21My son, fear the LORD and the king. Don’t join those who are rebellious,
22for their calamity will rise suddenly. Who knows what destruction may come from them both?
23These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judgment is not good.
24He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” peoples will curse him, and nations will abhor him—
25but it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and a rich blessing will come on them.
26An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
27Prepare your work outside, and get your fields ready. Afterwards, build your house.
28Don’t be a witness against your neighbor without cause. Don’t deceive with your lips.
29Don’t say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will repay the man according to his work.”
30I went by the field of the sluggard, by the vineyard of the man void of understanding.
31Behold, it was all grown over with thorns. Its surface was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.
32Then I saw, and considered well. I saw, and received instruction:
33a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep,
34so your poverty will come as a robber and your want as an armed man.
