Estos proverbios son para enseñar sabiduría e instrucción, para enseñar palabras hacia el interior,
Para entender sabiduría y doctrina; para conocer las razones prudentes;
To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;
que tú puedas recibir instrucción de modo que vivas haciendo lo que es correcto, justo, y favorable.
Para recibir el consejo de prudencia, justicia, y juicio y equidad;
To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;
Estos proverbios también son para dar sabiduría al ingenuo, y para dar conocimiento y discreción a personas jóvenes.
Para dar sagacidad á los simples, y á los jóvenes inteligencia y cordura.
To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.
to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man—
Deja que personas sabias escuchen y aumenten su aprendizaje, y deja que personas que disciernen obtengan guianza,
Oirá el sabio, y aumentará el saber; y el entendido adquirirá consejo;
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel;

El temor del SEÑOR es el principio del conocimiento, los tontos desprecian la sabiduría y la instrucción.
El principio de la sabiduría es el temor de Jehová: los insensatos desprecian la sabiduría y la enseñanza.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
Hijo Mío, escucha la instrucción de tu padre y no hagas a un lado las reglas de tu madre;
Oye, hijo mío, la doctrina de tu padre, y no desprecies la dirección de tu madre:
My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;
ellas serán guirnalda de gracia para tu cabeza y collares colgando de tu cuello.
Porque adorno de gracia serán á tu cabeza, y collares á tu cuello.
For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.
Hijo Mío, si pecadores tratan de seducirte en sus pecados, no los obedezcas.
Hijo mío, si los pecadores te quisieren engañar, no consientas.
My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.
Si ellos dicen: "Ven con nosotros a cometer asesinato, vamos a escondernos y atacar a personas inocentes sin razón.
Si dijeren: Ven con nosotros, pongamos asechanzas á la sangre, acechemos sin motivo al inocente;
If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
If they say, “Come with us. Let’s lie in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.
Vamos a comérnoslos vivos, como el Seol se lleva aquellos que están saludables y los hace como aquellos que caen en el abismo.
Los tragaremos vivos como el sepulcro, y enteros, como los que caen en sima;
Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
Let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit.
Encontraremos toda clase de cosas valiosas; llenaremos nuestras casas con lo que robemos de otros.
Hallaremos riquezas de todas suertes, henchiremos nuestras casas de despojos;
We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with plunder.
Echa tu suerte con nosotros; todos nosotros tendremos un botín juntos."
Echa tu suerte entre nosotros; tengamos todos una bolsa:
Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
You shall cast your lot among us. We’ll all have one purse”—
Hijo Mío, no camines por la senda con ellos; no dejes que tu pie toque por donde ellos caminan;
Hijo mío, no andes en camino con ellos; aparta tu pie de sus veredas:
My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
my son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path,
sus pies corren a la maldad y ellos se apresuran a derramar sangre.
Porque sus pies correrán al mal, é irán presurosos á derramar sangre.
For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood.
Porque es inútil lanzar la red para atrapar un ave mientras el ave está observando.
Porque en vano se tenderá la red ante los ojos de toda ave;
Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
For the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird;
Estos hombres acechan y esperan para matarse ellos mismos; ellos tienden una trampa para ellos mismos.
Mas ellos á su propia sangre ponen asechanzas, y á sus almas tienden lazo.
And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.
También esos son los caminos de todos quienes ganan riquezas con injusticia; ganancia injusta toma las vidas de aquellos quienes se agarran a ella.
Tales son las sendas de todo el que es dado á la codicia, la cual prenderá el alma de sus poseedores.
So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners.
La sabiduría grita fuerte en las calles, ella levanta su voz en lugares abiertos;
La sabiduría clama de fuera, da su voz en las plazas:
Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.
al principio de las calles ruidosas ella grita, en la entrada de las puertas de la ciudad ella habla:
Clama en los principales lugares de concurso; en las entradas de las puertas de la ciudad dice sus razones:
She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:
"¿Por cuánto tiempo, ustedes personas ingenuas, amarán ser ingenuas? ¿Por cuánto tiempo, ustedes burladores, se deleitarán en la burla, y por cuánto tiempo, ustedes tontos, odiarán el conocimiento?
¿Hasta cuándo, oh simples, amaréis la simpleza, y los burladores desearán el burlar, y los insensatos aborrecerán la ciencia?
How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?
Presta atención a mi corrección; Yo derramaré mis pensamientos sobre ti; Yo haré conocer mis palabras a ti.
Volveos á mi reprensión: he aquí yo os derramaré mi espíritu, y os haré saber mis palabras.
Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.
Yo he llamado y tú te has negado a escuchar; Yo extendí mi mano, pero no había quien prestara atención.
Por cuanto llamé, y no quisisteis; extendí mi mano, y no hubo quien escuchase;
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;
Pero tú has ignorado todas mis instrucciones y no has prestado atención a mi corrección.
Antes desechasteis todo consejo mío, y mi reprensión no quisisteis:
But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;
Yo me reiré de tu calamidad, Yo me burlaré de ti cuando venga el terror,
También yo me reiré en vuestra calamidad, y me burlaré cuando os viniere lo que teméis;
I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,
cuando tu miedo terrible venga como una tormenta y el desastre barra sobre tí como un torbellino, cuando la ansiedad y la angustia venga sobre ti.
Cuando viniere como una destrucción lo que teméis, y vuestra calamidad llegare como un torbellino; cuando sobre vosotros viniere tribulación y angustia.
When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.
Entonces ellos me llamarán, y yo no responderé; ellos desesperadamente me llamarán, pero ellos no me encontrarán.
Entonces me llamarán, y no responderé; buscarme han de mañana, y no me hallarán:
Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,
Porque ellos odian el conocimiento y no escogieron el temor del SEÑOR,
Por cuanto aborrecieron la sabiduría, y no escogieron el temor de Jehová,
For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of the LORD.
ellos no siguieron mi instrucción y ellos despreciaron toda mi corrección.
Ni quisieron mi consejo, y menospreciaron toda reprensión mía:
They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.
Ellos comerán el fruto de sus caminos y con el fruto de sus artimañas serán llenos.
Comerán pues del fruto de su camino, y se hartarán de sus consejos.
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.
Porque los ingenuos son asesinados cuando se alejan, y la indiferencia de los tontos los destruirá.
Porque el reposo de los ignorantes los matará, y la prosperidad de los necios los echará á perder.
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.
Pero cualquiera que me escuche vivirá en seguridad y reposará seguro sin miedo al desastre."
Mas el que me oyere, habitará confiadamente, y vivirá reposado, sin temor de mal.
But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.”
