Proverbios 15

1Anger slays even wise men; yet a submissive answer turns away wrath: but a grievous word stirs up anger.
2The tongue of the wise knows what is good: but the mouth of the foolish tells out evil things.
3The eyes of the Lord behold both the evil and the good in every place.
4Gr. the healing of the tongue The wholesome tongue is a tree of life, and he that keeps it shall be filled with Gr. spirit understanding.
5A fool scorns his father’s instruction; but he that keeps his commandments is more prudent. In abounding righteousness is great strength: but the ungodly shall Gr. with the roots wholly torn up utterly perish from the earth.
6In the houses of the righteous is much strength: but the fruits of the ungodly shall perish.
7The lips of the wise are bound by discretion: but the hearts of the foolish are not safe.
8The sacrifices of the ungodly are an abomination to the Lord; but the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable with him.
9The ways of an ungodly man are an abomination to the Lord; but he loves those that follow after righteousness.
10The instruction of the simple is known by them that pass by; but they that hate reproofs die disgracefully.
11Hell and destruction are manifest to the Lord; how shall not also be the hearts of men?
12An uninstructed person will not love those that reprove him; neither will he associate with the wise.
13When the heart rejoices the countenance is cheerful; but when it is in sorrow, the countenance is sad.
14An upright heart seeks discretion; but the mouth of the uninstructed will experience evils.
15The eyes of the wicked are always looking for evil things; but the good are always quiet.
16Better is a small portion with the fear of the Lord, than great treasures without the fear of the Lord.
17Better is an entertainment of herbs with friendliness and kindness, than a feast of calves, with enmity.
18A passionate man stirs up strife; but he that is slow to anger appeases even a Gr. future rising one. (15:18AA) A man slow to anger will extinguish quarrels; but an ungodly man rather stirs them up.
19The ways of sluggards are strewn with thorns; but those of the diligent are made smooth.
20A wise son gladdens his father; but a foolish son sneers at his mother.
21The ways of a foolish man are void of sense; but a wise man proceeds on his way aright.
22They that honour not councils put off deliberation; but counsel abides in the hearts of counsellors.
23A bad man will by no means Gr. obey attend to counsel; neither will he say anything seasonable, or good for the common weal.
24The thoughts of the wise are ways of life, that he may turn aside and escape from hell.
25The Lord pulls down the houses of scorners; but he establishes the border of the widow.
26An unrighteous thought is abomination to the Lord; but the sayings of the pure are held in honour.
27A receiver of bribes destroys himself; but he that hates the receiving of bribes is safe. (15:27AA) By alms and by faithful dealings Observe, this is not in the Heb., nor is there any such doctrine in the Scriptures sins are purged away;but by the fear of the Lord every one departs from evil.
28The hearts of the righteous meditate faithfulness; but the mouth of the ungodly answers evil things. (15:28AA) The ways of righteous men are acceptable with the Lord; and through them even enemies become friends.
29God is far from the ungodly; but he hearkens to the prayers of the righteous. (15:29AA) Better are small receipts with righteousness, than abundant fruits with unrighteousness. (15:29BA) Let the heart of a man think justly, that his steps may be rightly ordered of God.
30The eye that sees rightly rejoices the heart; and a good report fattens the bones.

32He that rejects instruction hates himself; but he that minds reproofs loves his soul.
33The fear of the Lord is instruction and wisdom; and the highest honour will Lit. answer it; Alex. The humble advances in glory. correspond therewith.

1LA blanda respuesta quita la ira: mas la palabra áspera hace subir el furor.
2La lengua de los sabios adornará la sabiduría: mas la boca de los necios hablará sandeces.
3Los ojos de Jehová están en todo lugar, mirando á los malos y á los buenos.
4La sana lengua es árbol de vida: mas la perversidad en ella es quebrantamiento de espíritu.
5El necio menosprecia el consejo de su padre: mas el que guarda la corrección, vendrá á ser cuerdo.
6En la casa del justo hay gran provisión; empero turbación en las ganancias del impío.
7Los labios de los sabios esparcen sabiduría: mas no así el corazón de los necios.
8El sacrificio de los impíos es abominación á Jehová: mas la oración de los rectos es su gozo.
9Abominación es á Jehová el camino del impío: mas él ama al que sigue justicia.
10La reconvención es molesta al que deja el camino: y el que aborreciere la corrección, morirá.
11El infierno y la perdición están delante de Jehová: ¡cuánto más los corazones de los hombres!
12El escarnecedor no ama al que le reprende; ni se allega á los sabios.
13El corazón alegre hermosea el rostro: mas por el dolor de corazón el espíritu se abate.
14El corazón entendido busca la sabiduría: mas la boca de los necios pace necedad.
15Todos los días del afligido son trabajosos: mas el de corazón contento tiene un convite continuo.
16Mejor es lo poco con el temor de Jehová, que el gran tesoro donde hay turbación.
17Mejor es la comida de legumbres donde hay amor, que de buey engordado donde hay odio.
18El hombre iracundo mueve contiendas: mas el que tarde se enoja, apaciguará la rencilla.
19El camino del perezoso es como seto de espinos: mas la vereda de los rectos como una calzada.
20El hijo sabio alegra al padre: mas el hombre necio menosprecia á su madre.
21La necedad es alegría al falto de entendimiento: mas el hombre entendido enderezará su proceder.
22Los pensamientos son frustrados donde no hay consejo; mas en la multitud de consejeros se afirman.
23Alégrase el hombre con la respuesta de su boca: y la palabra á su tiempo, ¡cuán buena es!
24El camino de la vida es hacia arriba al entendido, para apartarse del infierno abajo.
25Jehová asolará la casa de los soberbios: mas él afirmará el término de la viuda.
26Abominación son á Jehová los pensamientos del malo: mas las expresiones de los limpios son limpias.
27Alborota su casa el codicioso: mas el que aborrece las dádivas vivirá.
28El corazón del justo piensa para responder: mas la boca de los impíos derrama malas cosas.
29Lejos está Jehová de los impíos: mas él oye la oración de los justos.
30La luz de los ojos alegra el corazón; y la buena fama engorda los huesos.
31La oreja que escucha la corrección de vida, entre los sabios morará.
32El que tiene en poco la disciplina, menosprecia su alma: mas el que escucha la corrección, tiene entendimiento.

2The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
4A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
5A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
6In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
7The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
10Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

4A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but deceit in it crushes the spirit.
5A fool despises his father’s correction, but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.
6In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but the income of the wicked brings trouble.
7The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so with the heart of fools.
8The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but he loves him who follows after righteousness.
10There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way. Whoever hates reproof shall die.
11Sheol and Abaddon are before the LORD— how much more then the hearts of the children of men!

29The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
30The light of the eyes rejoices the heart. Good news gives health to the bones.
31The ear that listens to reproof lives, and will be at home among the wise.
32He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding.
33The fear of the LORD teaches wisdom. Before honor is humility.
