1Wise women build houses: but a foolish one digs hers down with her hands.
2He that walks uprightly fears the Lord; but he that is perverse in his ways shall be dishonoured.
3Out of the mouth of fools comes a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise preserve them.
4Where no oxen are, the cribs are clean; but where there is abundant produce, the strength of the ox is apparent.
5A faithful witness does not lie; but an unjust witness kindles falsehoods.
6Thou shalt seek wisdom with bad men, and shalt not find it; but discretion is easily available with the prudent.
7All things are adverse to a foolish man; but wise lips are the weapons of discretion.
8The wisdom of the prudent will understand their ways; but the folly of fools leads astray.
9The houses of transgressors Gr. shall owe; See Job 6:21 will need purification; but the houses of the just are acceptable.
10If a man’s Or, heart be sensitive mind is intelligent, his soul is sorrowful; and when he rejoices, he has no fellowship with pride.
11The houses of ungodly men shall be utterly destroyed; but the tabernacles of them that walk uprightly shall stand.
12There is a way which seems to be right with men, but the ends of it Gr. come reach to the depths of hell.
13Grief mingles not with mirth; and joy in the end comes to grief.
14A Lit. bold-hearted stout-hearted man shall be filled with his own ways; and a good man with his own thoughts.
15The simple believes every word: but the prudent man betakes himself to after-thought.
16A wise man fears, and departs from evil; but the fool trusts in himself, and joins himself with the transgressor.
17A passionate man acts inconsiderately; but a sensible man bears up under many things.
18Fools shall have mischief for their portion; but the prudent shall take fast hold of understanding.
19Evil men shall fall before the good; and the ungodly shall attend at the gates of the righteous.
20Friends will hate poor friends; but the friends of the rich are many.
21He that dishonours the needy sins: but he that has pity on the poor is most blessed.
22They that go astray devise evils: but the good devise mercy and truth. The framers of evil do not understand mercy and truth: but compassion and faithfulness are with the framers of good.
23With every one who is careful there is abundance: but the pleasure-taking and indolent shall be in want.
24A prudent man is the crown of the wise: but the occupation of fools is evil.
25A faithful witness shall deliver a soul from evil: but a deceitful man kindles falsehoods.
26In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and he leaves his children a support.
27The commandment of the Lord is a fountain of life; and it causes men to turn aside from the snare of death.
28In a populous nation is the glory of a king: but in the failure of people is the ruin of a prince.
29A man slow to wrath abounds in wisdom: but a man of impatient spirit is very foolish.
30A meek-spirited man is a healer of the heart: but a sensitive heart is a corruption of the bones.
31He that oppresses the needy provokes his Maker: but he that honours him has pity upon the poor.
32The ungodly shall be driven away in his wickedness: but Comp. Heb. he who is secure in his own holiness is just.
33There is wisdom in the good heart of a man: but in the heart of fools it is not discerned.
34Righteousness exalts a nation: but sins diminish tribes.
35An understanding servant is acceptable to a king; and by his good behaviour he removes disgrace.

1LA mujer sabia edifica su casa: mas la necia con sus manos la derriba.
2El que camina en su rectitud teme á Jehová: mas el pervertido en sus caminos lo menosprecia.
3En la boca del necio está la vara de la soberbia: mas los labios de los sabios los guardarán.
4Sin bueyes el granero está limpio: mas por la fuerza del buey hay abundancia de pan.
5El testigo verdadero no mentirá: mas el testigo falso hablará mentiras.
6Busca el escarnecedor la sabiduría, y no la halla: mas la sabiduría al hombre entendido es fácil.
7Vete de delante del hombre necio, porque en él no advertirás labios de ciencia.
8La ciencia del cuerdo es entender su camino: mas la indiscreción de los necios es engaño.
9Los necios se mofan del pecado: mas entre los rectos hay favor.
10El corazón conoce la amargura de su alma; y extraño no se entrometerá en su alegría.
11La casa de los impíos será asolada: mas florecerá la tienda de los rectos.
12Hay camino que al hombre parece derecho; empero su fin son caminos de muerte.
13Aun en la risa tendrá dolor el corazón; y el término de la alegría es congoja.
14De sus caminos será harto el apartado de razón: y el hombre de bien estará contento del suyo.
15El simple cree á toda palabra: mas el avisado entiende sus pasos.
16El sabio teme, y se aparta del mal: mas el necio se arrebata, y confía.
17El que presto se enoja, hará locura: y el hombre malicioso será aborrecido.
18Los simples heredarán necedad: mas los cuerdos se coronarán de sabiduría.
19Los malos se inclinarán delante de los buenos, y los impíos á las puertas del justo.
20El pobre es odioso aun á su amigo: pero muchos son los que aman al rico.
21Peca el que menosprecia á su prójimo: mas el que tiene misericordia de los pobres, es bienaventurado.
22¿No yerran los que piensan mal? Misericordia empero y verdad alcanzarán los que piensan bien.
23En toda labor hay fruto: mas la palabra de los labios solamente empobrece.
24Las riquezas de los sabios son su corona: mas es infatuación la insensatez de los necios.
25El testigo verdadero libra las almas: mas el engañoso hablará mentiras.
26En el temor de Jehová está la fuerte confianza; y esperanza tendrán sus hijos.
27El temor de Jehová es manantial de vida, para apartarse de los lazos de la muerte.
28En la multitud de pueblo está la gloria del rey: y en la falta de pueblo la flaqueza del príncipe.
29El que tarde se aira, es grande de entendimiento: mas el corto de espíritu engrandece el desatino.
30El corazón apacible es vida de las carnes: mas la envidia, pudrimiento de huesos.
31El que oprime al pobre, afrenta á su Hacedor: mas el que tiene misericordia del pobre, lo honra.
32Por su maldad será lanzado el impío: mas el justo en su muerte tiene esperanza.
33En el corazón del cuerdo reposa la sabiduría; y es conocida en medio de los necios.
34La justicia engrandece la nación: mas el pecado es afrenta de las naciones.
35La benevolencia del rey es para con el ministro entendido: mas su enojo contra el que lo avergüenza.

1Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
2He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.
3In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
6A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
7Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
8The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
9Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
10The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

12There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

33Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

7Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.

9Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.
10The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.
