1O filho sábio ouve a instrução do seu pai, mas o zombador não escuta a repreensão.
2Do fruto de sua boca, o homem desfruta de coisas boas, mas o apetite do traiçoeiro é para a violência.
3Aquele que guarda a sua boca protege sua vida, mas o que abre muito seus lábios arruinará a si mesmo.
4O desejo do preguiçoso anseia e nada ganha, mas a vontade dos diligentes será ricamente satisfeita.
5O justo odeia mentiras, mas o perverso torna-se repugnante, e o que faz é vergonhoso.
6A justiça protege aqueles que são irrepreensíveis em seus caminhos, mas a perversidade desvia os pecadores.
7Há quem diz ser rico, mas nada tem; há outro que entrega tudo o que tem, mas é, verdadeiramente, rico.
8O resgate da vida de um homem rico é a sua fortuna, mas um homem pobre não escuta a ameaça.
9A luz dos justos resplandece, mas a lâmpada dos perversos será apagada.
10O orgulho só produz contenda, mas a sabedoria está com aqueles que ouvem bons conselhos.
11As riquezas são diminuídas quando há excesso de vaidade, mas aquele que ganha trabalhando com as suas mãos fará seu dinheiro aumentar.
12Quando a esperança é adiada, faz adoecer o coração, mas o desejo realizado é árvore de vida.
13Aquele que despreza a instrução trará destruição a si mesmo, mas quem honra o mandamento será recompensado.
14O ensino de uma pessoa sábia é fonte de vida que afasta dos laços da morte.
15O bom conhecimento conquista favor, mas o caminho dos desleais é intransitável.
16As pessoas prudentes agem com conhecimento em todas as suas decisões, mas o tolo expõe sua insensatez.
17O mensageiro perverso cai em problemas, mas o enviado fiel traz reconciliação.
18Quem ignora a disciplina terá pobreza e vergonha, mas a honra virá para aquele que aprende com a correção.
19Um desejo realizado é doce para a alma, mas os tolos odeiam afastar-se do mal.
20Caminha com pessoas sábias e tu serás sábio, mas o companheiro dos tolos sofrerá dano.
21O desastre corre atrás dos pecadores, mas os justos são recompensados com o bem.
22Uma boa pessoa deixa herança para seus netos, mas a riqueza do pecador é armazenada para a pessoa justa.
23Um campo não arado na propriedade dos pobres poderia produzir muito alimento, mas é destruído pela injustiça.
24Aquele que não disciplina seu filho o odeia, mas aquele que ama seu filho tem o cuidado de discipliná-lo.
25O justo come até satisfazer o seu apetite, mas o estômago dos ímpios está sempre com fome.

1EL hijo sabio toma el consejo del padre: mas el burlador no escucha las reprensiones.
2Del fruto de su boca el hombre comerá bien: mas el alma de los prevaricadores hallará mal.
3El que guarda su boca guarda su alma: mas el que mucho abre sus labios tendrá calamidad.
4Desea, y nada alcanza el alma del perezoso: mas el alma de los diligentes será engordada.
5El justo aborrece la palabra de mentira: mas el impío se hace odioso é infame.
6La justicia guarda al de perfecto camino: mas la impiedad trastornará al pecador.
7Hay quienes se hacen ricos, y no tienen nada: y hay quienes se hacen pobres, y tienen muchas riquezas.
8La redención de la vida del hombre son sus riquezas: pero el pobre no oye censuras.
9La luz de los justos se alegrará: mas apagaráse la lámpara de los impíos.
10Ciertamente la soberbia parirá contienda: mas con los avisados es la sabiduría.
11Disminuiránse las riquezas de vanidad: empero multiplicará el que allega con su mano.
12La esperanza que se prolonga, es tormento del corazón: mas árbol de vida es el deseo cumplido.
13El que menosprecia la palabra, perecerá por ello: mas el que teme el mandamiento, será recompensado.
14La ley del sabio es manantial de vida, para apartarse de los lazos de la muerte.
15El buen entendimiento conciliará gracia: mas el camino de los prevaricadores es duro.
16Todo hombre cuerdo obra con sabiduría: mas el necio manifestará necedad.
17El mal mensajero caerá en mal: mas el mensajero fiel es medicina.
18Pobreza y vergüenza tendrá el que menosprecia el consejo: mas el que guarda la corrección, será honrado.
19El deseo cumplido deleita el alma: pero apartarse del mal es abominación á los necios.
20El que anda con los sabios, sabio será; mas el que se allega á los necios, será quebrantado.
21Mal perseguirá á los pecadores: mas á los justos les será bien retribuído.
22El bueno dejará herederos á los hijos de los hijos; y el haber del pecador, para el justo está guardado.
23En el barbecho de los pobres hay mucho pan: mas piérdese por falta de juicio.
24El que detiene el castigo, á su hijo aborrece: mas el que lo ama, madruga á castigarlo.
25El justo come hasta saciar su alma: mas el vientre de los impíos tendrá necesidad.

1A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
2A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
3He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
4The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
5A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
6Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
7There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
8The ransom of a man’s life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.
9The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
10Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
11Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
12Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

1A wise son listens to his father’s instruction, but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke.
2By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful crave violence.
3He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
4The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied.
5A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace.
6Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
7There are some who pretend to be rich, yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth.
8The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats.
9The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.
10Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is with people who take advice.
11Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
12Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
13Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded.
14The teaching of the wise is a spring of life, to turn from the snares of death.
