Proverbios 11

1A deceitful scale is an abomination with the Lord, and a fair weighing is his will.
2Wherever arrogance may be, there too is insult. But wherever humility is, there too is wisdom.
3The simplicity of the just shall direct them, and the rebellion of the perverse will devastate them.
4Wealth will not profit in the day of vengeance. But justice shall liberate from death.
5The justice of the simple shall direct his way. And the impious will fall in his impiety.
6The justice of the upright shall free them. And the iniquitous will be seized by their own treachery.
7When the impious man is dead, there will no longer be any hope. And the expectation of the anxious will perish.
8The just one is freed from anguish. And the impious one will be handed over instead of him.
9The pretender deceives his friend by mouth. But the just shall be freed by knowledge.
10In the good of the just, the city shall exult. And in the perdition of the impious, there shall be praise.
11By the blessing of the just, the city shall be exalted. And by the mouth of the impious, it will be subverted.
12Whoever despises his friend is destitute in heart. But the prudent man will remain silent.
13Whoever walks dishonestly reveals secrets. But whoever is of a faithful soul conceals what is confided by a friend.
14Where there is no governor, the people shall fall. But where there is much counsel, well-being shall be.
15He will be afflicted with evil, who provides a guarantee for an outsider. But whoever is wary of traps shall be secure.
16A gracious woman shall discover glory. And the robust will have wealth.
17A merciful man benefits his own soul. But whoever is cruel casts out even his close relatives.
18The impious does work with inconstancy. But for the sower of justice, there is the reward of faithfulness.
19Clemency prepares life. And the pursuit of evils prepares death.
20A depraved heart is abominable to the Lord. And his will is with those who walk in simplicity.
21Hand in hand, the evil shall not be innocent. But the offspring of the just shall be saved.
22A beautiful and senseless woman is like a gold ring in the snout of a swine.
23The desire of the just is entirely good. The anticipation of the impious is fury.
24Some distribute their own goods, and they become wealthier. Others seize what is not their own, and they are always in need.
25The soul that blesses shall be made fat. And whoever inebriates will likewise be inebriated himself.
26Whoever hides away grain shall be cursed among the people. But a blessing is upon the head of those who sell it.
27He does well to rise early, who seeks what is good. But whoever is a seeker of evils shall be oppressed by them.
28Whoever trusts in his riches will fall. But the just shall spring up like a green leaf.
29Whoever troubles his own house will possess the winds. And whoever is foolish will serve the wise.
30The fruit of the just one is the tree of life. And whoever receives souls is wise.
31If the just are repaid upon the earth, how much more the impious and the sinner!

1EL peso falso abominación es á Jehová: mas la pesa cabal le agrada.
2Cuando viene la soberbia, viene también la deshonra: mas con los humildes es la sabiduría.
3La integridad de los rectos los encaminará: mas destruirá á los pecadores la perversidad de ellos.
4No aprovecharán las riquezas en el día de la ira: mas la justicia librará de muerte.
5La justicia del perfecto enderezará su camino: mas el impío por su impiedad caerá.
6La justicia de los rectos los librará: mas los pecadores en su pecado serán presos.
7Cuando muere el hombre impío, perece su esperanza; y la espectativa de los malos perecerá.
8El justo es librado de la tribulación: mas el impío viene en lugar suyo.
9El hipócrita con la boca daña á su prójimo: mas los justos son librados con la sabiduría.
10En el bien de los justos la ciudad se alegra: mas cuando los impíos perecen, hay fiestas.
11Por la bendición de los rectos la ciudad será engrandecida: mas por la boca de los impíos ella será trastornada.
12El que carece de entendimiento, menosprecia á su prójimo: mas el hombre prudente calla.
13El que anda en chismes, descubre el secreto: mas el de espíritu fiel encubre la cosa.
14Cuando faltaren las industrias, caerá el pueblo: mas en la multitud de consejeros hay salud.
15Con ansiedad será afligido el que fiare al extraño: mas el que aborreciere las fianzas vivirá confiado.
16La mujer graciosa tendrá honra: y los fuertes tendrán riquezas.
17A su alma hace bien el hombre misericordioso: mas el cruel atormenta su carne.
18El impío hace obra falsa: mas el que sembrare justicia, tendrá galardón firme.
19Como la justicia es para vida, así el que sigue el mal es para su muerte.
20Abominación son á Jehová los perversos de corazón: mas los perfectos de camino le son agradables.
21Aunque llegue la mano á la mano, el malo no quedará sin castigo: mas la simiente de los justos escapará.
22Zarcillo de oro en la nariz del puerco, es la mujer hermosa y apartada de razón.
23El deseo de los justos es solamente bien: mas la esperanza de los impíos es enojo.
24Hay quienes reparten, y les es añadido más: y hay quienes son escasos más de lo que es justo, mas vienen á pobreza.
25El alma liberal será engordada: y el que saciare, él también será saciado.
26Al que retiene el grano, el pueblo lo maldecirá: mas bendición será sobre la cabeza del que vende.
27El que madruga al bien, buscará favor: mas el que busca el mal, vendrále.
28El que confía en sus riquezas, caerá: mas los justos reverdecerán como ramos.
29El que turba su casa heredará viento; y el necio será siervo del sabio de corazón.
30El fruto del justo es árbol de vida: y el que prende almas, es sabio.
31Ciertamente el justo será pagado en la tierra: ¡cuánto más el impío y el pecador!

1A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
2When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
3The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
5The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
7When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.
8The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
9An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
13A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
14Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
15He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.
16A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.
17The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
18The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
19As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
20They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
21Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
22As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.
23The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
25The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
26He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
27He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
28He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
29He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
31Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

19He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
