5Porque eu passei pela cerimônia de iniciação judaica, sendo circuncidado quando tinha oito dias de idade, pertencente ao povo de Israel, à tribo de Benjamim, genuíno hebreu. Além do mais, era membro da seita dos fariseus, que exigiam a mais estrita obediência a todas as leis e costumes judaicos.
