1S'il y a donc quelque consolation en Christ, s'il y a quelque soulagement dans la charité, s'il y a quelque communion d'esprit, s'il y a quelque compassion et miséricorde,
2Rendez ma joie parfaite, étant en bonne intelligence, ayant une même charité, une même âme, un même sentiment;
3Ne faites rien par contestation, ni par vaine gloire; mais que chacun de vous regarde les autres, par humilité, comme plus excellents que lui-même.
4Ne regardez pas chacun à votre intérêt particulier, mais aussi à celui des autres.
5Ayez en vous les mêmes sentiments que Jésus-Christ,
6Lequel étant en forme de Dieu, n'a point regardé comme une proie à saisir d'être égal à Dieu;
7Mais il s'est dépouillé lui-même, ayant pris la forme de serviteur, devenant semblable aux hommes;
8Et, revêtu de la figure d'homme, il s'est abaissé lui-même, en se rendant obéissant jusqu'à la mort, même jusqu'à la mort de la croix.
9C'est pourquoi aussi, Dieu l'a souverainement élevé, et lui a donné un nom qui est au-dessus de tout nom;
10Afin qu'au nom de Jésus, tout ce qui est dans les cieux, et sur la terre, et sous la terre, fléchisse le genou,
11Et que toute langue confesse que Jésus-Christ est le Seigneur, à la gloire de Dieu le Père.
12Ainsi, mes bien-aimés, comme vous avez toujours obéi, non seulement comme en ma présence, mais plus encore maintenant en mon absence, travaillez à votre salut avec crainte et tremblement;
13Car c'est Dieu qui produit en vous et le vouloir et le faire selon son plaisir.
14Faites toutes choses sans murmures et sans disputes;
15Afin que vous soyez sans reproche, sans tache, enfants de Dieu, irrépréhensibles au milieu d'une génération dépravée et perverse, au sein de laquelle vous brillez comme des flambeaux dans le monde, y portant la parole de vie;
16En sorte qu'au jour de Christ, je puisse me glorifier de n'avoir point couru en vain, ni travaillé en vain.
17Et si même je sers d'aspersion sur le sacrifice et le ministère de votre foi, j'en ai de la joie, et je m'en réjouis avec vous tous.
18Vous aussi de même, ayez de la joie, et vous réjouissez avec moi.
19Or j'espère, dans le Seigneur Jésus, vous envoyer bientôt Timothée, afin que j'aie bon courage, en apprenant votre état.
20Car je n'ai personne, qui soit si bien d'accord avec moi, pour se soucier vraiment de ce qui vous concerne;
21Car tous cherchent leurs propres intérêts, et non ceux de Jésus-Christ.
22Vous savez qu'il a été mis à l'épreuve, puisqu'il s'est mis avec moi au service de l'Évangile, comme un enfant avec son père.
23J'espère donc vous l'envoyer, dès que j'aurai vu l'état de mes affaires;
24Et j'ai cette confiance dans le Seigneur que je viendrai aussi moi-même bientôt.
25Mais j'ai cru nécessaire de vous envoyer Épaphrodite, mon frère, mon compagnon d'œuvre et mon compagnon d'armes, votre envoyé, et celui qui m'a secouru dans mes besoins;
26Car il désirait ardemment de vous voir tous, et il était fort en peine de ce que vous aviez appris qu'il avait été malade.
27Il a été malade, en effet, et près de la mort; mais Dieu a eu pitié de lui; et non pas de lui seulement, mais aussi de moi, afin que je n'eusse pas tristesse sur tristesse.
28Je l'ai donc envoyé avec beaucoup d'empressement, afin qu'en le revoyant, vous ayez de la joie, et que j'aie moins de tristesse.
29Recevez-le donc dans le Seigneur en toute joie, et honorez de tels hommes.
30Car il a été près de la mort pour l'œuvre de Christ, ayant exposé sa vie pour suppléer aux services que vous ne pouviez me rendre vous-mêmes.

1POR tanto, si hay alguna consolación en Cristo; si algún refrigerio de amor; si alguna comunión del Espíritu; si algunas entrañas y misericordias,
2Cumplid mi gozo; que sintáis lo mismo, teniendo el mismo amor, unánimes, sintiendo una misma cosa.
3Nada hagáis por contienda ó por vanagloria; antes bien en humildad, estimándoos inferiores los unos á los otros:
4No mirando cada uno á lo suyo propio, sino cada cual también á lo de los otros.
5Haya, pues, en vosotros este sentir que hubo también en Cristo Jesús:
6El cual, siendo en forma de Dios, no tuvo por usurpación ser igual á Dios:
7Sin embargo, se anonadó á sí mismo, tomando forma de siervo, hecho semejante á los hombres;
8Y hallado en la condición como hombre, se humilló á sí mismo, hecho obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz.
9Por lo cual Dios también le ensalzó á lo sumo, y dióle un nombre que es sobre todo nombre;
10Para que en el nombre de Jesús se doble toda rodilla de los que están en los cielos, y de los que en la tierra, y de los que debajo de la tierra;
11Y toda lengua confiese que Jesucristo es el Señor, á la gloria de Dios Padre.
12Por tanto, amados míos, como siempre habéis obedecido, no como en mi presencia solamente, sino mucho más ahora en mi ausencia, ocupaos en vuestra salvación con temor y temblor;
13Porque Dios es el que en vosotros obra así el querer como el hacer, por su buena voluntad.
14Haced todo sin murmuraciones y contiendas,
15Para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin culpa en medio de la nación maligna y perversa, entre los cuales resplandecéis como luminares en el mundo;
16Reteniendo la palabra de vida para que yo pueda gloriarme en el día de Cristo, que no he corrido en vano, ni trabajado en vano.
17Y aun si soy derramado en libación sobre el sacrificio y servicio de vuestra fe, me gozo y congratulo por todos vosotros.
18Y asimismo gozaos también vosotros, y regocijaos conmigo.
19Mas espero en el Señor Jesús enviaros presto á Timoteo, para que yo también esté de buen ánimo, entendido vuestro estado.
20Porque á ninguno tengo tan unánime, y que con sincera afición esté solícito por vosotros.
21Porque todos buscan lo suyo propio, no lo que es de Cristo Jesús.
22Pero la experiencia de él habéis conocido, que como hijo á padre ha servido conmigo en el evangelio.
23Así que á éste espero enviaros, luego que yo viere cómo van mis negocios;
24Y confío en el Señor que yo también iré presto á vosotros.
25Mas tuve por cosa necesaria enviaros á Epafrodito, mi hermano, y colaborador y compañero de milicia, y vuestro mensajero, y ministrador de mis necesidades;
26Porque tenía gran deseo de ver á todos vosotros, y gravemente se angustió porque habíais oído que había enfermado.
27Pues en verdad estuvo enfermo á la muerte: mas Dios tuvo misericordia de él; y no solamente de él, sino aun de mí, para que yo no tuviese tristeza sobre tristeza.
28Así que le envío más presto, para que viéndole os volváis á gozar, y yo esté con menos tristeza.
29Recibidle pues en el Señor con todo gozo; y tened en estima á los tales:
30Porque por la obra de Cristo estuvo cercano á la muerte, poniendo su vida para suplir vuestra falta en mi servicio.

1If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
17Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
18For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.
19But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
20For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.
21For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.
22But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
23Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.
24But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.
25Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
26For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.
27For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
28I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
29Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:
30Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

1If therefore there is any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,
2make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;
3doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;
4each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
5Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
6who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
8And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
9Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,
11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

21For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.
22But you know that he has proved himself. As a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.
23Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it will go with me.
24But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.
25But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your apostle and servant of my need,
26since he longed for you all, and was very troubled because you had heard that he was sick.
27For indeed he was sick nearly to death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.
28I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
29Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such people in honor,
30because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
