1Und der Herr redete also mit Moses:
2"Befiehl den Söhnen Israels, sie sollen aus dem Lager jeden Aussatzverdächtigen entfernen, jeden Flüssigen und jeden an einer Leiche Verunreinigten!
3Männer und Weiber sollt ihr fortschaffen und vor das Lager sollt ihr sie schaffen, damit sie nicht ihr Lager unrein machen, weil ich unter ihnen wohne!"
4Und die Israeliten taten so. Sie schafften sie vor das Lager. Wie der Herr zu Moses gesprochen, so hatten die Israeliten getan.
5Und der Herr sprach zu Moses:
6"Sprich zu den Israeliten: 'Tut jemand, Mann oder Weib, irgendeine Menschensünde, in Untreue gegen den Herrn, und fühlt sich dieser schuldig,
7dann soll er seine Sünde, die er getan, bekennen! Er gebe den veruntreuten Betrag zurück und darauf soll er ein Fünftel legen und er gebe es dem, gegen den er sich verschuldet hat!
8Fehlt aber dem Mann ein Verwandter, dem man die Buße entrichten könnte, so fällt die schuldige Buße dem Herrn zum Besten der Priester zu, abgesehen vom Sühnewidder, mit dem man ihm Sühne schafft.
9Jede Weihegabe von all den heiligen Gaben, dem Priester von den Israeliten dargebracht, soll ihm gehören!
10Die ihm zustehenden Opfer sollen ihm gehören! Was jemand dem Priester gibt, soll ihm gehören!'"
11Und der Herr sprach zu Moses:
12"Sprich zu den Söhnen Israels und sage ihnen: 'Ist eines Mannes Weib ausschweifend und übt Trug an ihm,
13und ein anderer wohnt ihr bei, und dies bleibt ihrem Manne verborgen, weil sie unentdeckt bleibt, so verunreinigt sie sich. Ein Zeuge aber fehlt gegen sie, und sie ward nicht ertappt.
14Nun kommt ein Geist der Eifersucht aber ihn, und er eifert auf sein Weib, die sich verunreinigt hat, oder ein Geist der Eifersucht kommt über ihn, und er eifert auf sein Weib, obschon sie sich nicht verunreinigt hat;
15dann führe der Mann sein Weib zum Priester und bringe ihr Opfer für sie mit, ein Zehntel Scheffel Gerstenmehl! Er soll aber kein Öl darüber gießen noch Weihrauch darauf tun! Es ist ein Eifersuchtsspeiseopfer, ein Offenbarungsspeiseopfer zum Offenbaren der Sünde.
16Der Priester führe sie nun herbei und stelle sie vor den Herrn!
17Dann hole der Priester heiliges Wasser in einem Tongefäß! Auch etwas Staub vom Boden der Wohnung soll der Priester nehmen; dann tue er ihn in das Wasser!
18Der Priester stelle dann das Weib vor den Herrn, bringe des Weibes Haupthaar in Unordnung und lege in ihre Hände das Offenbarungsspeiseopfer, das Eifersuchtsspeiseopfer! Aber in des Priesters Hand soll das fluchbringende Bitterwasser bleiben!
19Dann beschwöre sie der Priester! Er spreche zum Weibe: Hat dir kein Mann beigewohnt und hast du dich nicht vergangen und verunreinigt, bist du vielmehr unter deinem Manne gewesen, dann schade dir nicht das fluchbringende Bitterwasser!
20Wenn du dich aber hast vergangen, obwohl deinem Manne unterstehend, und bist du unrein geworden dadurch, daß ein Mann dir beigewohnt, von deinem Manne abgesehen,
21so beschwöre der Priester das Weib mit dem Fluchschwure! Und der Priester spreche so zu dem Weibe: Dich soll der Herr inmitten deines Volkes zum Fluche und zur Verwünschung machen! Der Herr gebe dir Fehlgeburten bei willigem Leibe!
22Dies fluchbringende Wasser komme in dein Eingeweide, den Leib willig zu machen, aber Fehlgeburten zu bewirken! Das Weib spreche: Amen! Amen!
23Dann schreibe der Priester die Verwünschungen auf eine Tafel, wische sie in das Bitterwasser
24und lasse das Weib das fluchbringende Wasser trinken! So komme das fluchbringende Wasser in sie zu bitterem Wehe!
25Dann nehme der Priester dem Weibe das Eifersuchtsspeiseopfer aus der Hand, weihe das Speiseopfer vor dem Herrn und bringe es zum Altar!
26Der Priester nehme vom Speiseopfer eine Handvoll als sein Teil und lasse es auf dem Altar verrauchen! Dann soll er das Weib das Wasser trinken lassen!
27Und so er sie das Wasser trinken läßt, kommt, ist sie unrein und ihrem Marine untreu gewesen, das fluchbringende Wasser in sie zu bitterem Wehe. Ihr Leib wird zwar empfänglich sein; doch wird sie Fehlgeburten haben. So wird das Weib zum Fluche bei seinem Volke werden.
28Ist aber das Weib nicht unrein, sondern rein, so bleibt es unversehrt und bringt ein lebend Kind zu Welt.
29Dies ist das Gesetz über die Eifersuchtsfälle: Vergeht sich ein Weib, ihrem Mann unterstehend, und wird es unrein,
30oder kommt über einen Mann ein Geist der Eifersucht und eifert er auf sein Weib, so stelle er das Weib vor den Herrn, und der Priester tue an ihm genau nach diesem Gesetz!
31Der Mann bleibt dann von Verschuldung frei. Ein solches Weib aber lädt Schuld auf sich.'"

1Y JEHOVÁ habló á Moisés, diciendo:
2Manda á los hijos de Israel que echen del campo á todo leproso, y á todos los que padecen flujo de semen, y á todo contaminado sobre muerto:
3Así hombres como mujeres echaréis, fuera del campo los echaréis; porque no contaminen el campo de aquellos entre los cuales yo habito.
4E hiciéronlo así los hijos de Israel, que los echaron fuera del campo: como Jehová dijo á Moisés, así lo hicieron los hijos de Israel.
5Además habló Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:
6Habla á los hijos de Israel: El hombre ó la mujer que cometiere alguno de todos los pecados de los hombres, haciendo prevaricación contra Jehová, y delinquiere aquella persona;
7Confesarán su pecado que cometieron, y compensarán su ofensa enteramente, y añadirán su quinto sobre ello, y lo darán á aquel contra quien pecaron.
8Y si aquel hombre no tuviere pariente al cual sea resarcida la ofensa, daráse la indemnización del agravio á Jehová, al sacerdote, á más del carnero de las expiaciones, con el cual hará expiación por él.
9Y toda ofrenda de todas las cosas santas que los hijos de Israel presentaren al sacerdote, suya será.
10Y lo santificado de cualquiera será suyo: asimismo lo que cualquiera diere al sacerdote, suyo será.
11Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
12Habla á los hijos de Israel, y diles: Cuando la mujer de alguno se desmandare, é hiciere traición contra él,
13Que alguno se hubiere echado con ella en carnal ayuntamiento, y su marido no lo hubiese visto por haberse ella contaminado ocultamente, ni hubiere testigo contra ella, ni ella hubiere sido cogida en el acto;
14Si viniere sobre él espíritu de celo, y tuviere celos de su mujer, habiéndose ella contaminado; ó viniere sobre él espíritu de celo, y tuviere celos de su mujer, no habiéndose ella contaminado;
15Entonces el marido traerá su mujer al sacerdote, y traerá su ofrenda con ella, la décima de un epha de harina de cebada; no echará sobre ella aceite, ni pondrá sobre ella incienso: porque es presente de celos, presente de recordación, que trae en memoria pecado.
16Y el sacerdote la hará acercar, y la hará poner delante de Jehová.
17Luego tomará el sacerdote del agua santa en un vaso de barro: tomará también el sacerdote del polvo que hubiere en el suelo del tabernáculo, y echarálo en el agua.
18Y hará el sacerdote estar en pie á la mujer delante de Jehová, y descubrirá la cabeza de la mujer, y pondrá sobre sus manos el presente de la recordación, que es el presente de celos: y el sacerdote tendrá en la mano las aguas amargas que acarrean maldición.
19Y el sacerdote la conjurará, y le dirá: Si ninguno hubiere dormido contigo, y si no te has apartado de tu marido á inmundicia, libre seas de estas aguas amargas que traen maldición:
20Mas si te has descarriado de tu marido, y te has amancillado, y alguno hubiere tenido coito contigo, fuera de tu marido:
21(El sacerdote conjurará á la mujer con juramento de maldición, y dirá á la mujer): Jehová te dé en maldición y en conjuración en medio de tu pueblo, haciendo Jehová á tu muslo que caiga, y á tu vientre que se te hinche;
22Y estas aguas que dan maldición entren en tus entrañas, y hagan hinchar tu vientre y caer tu muslo. Y la mujer dirá: Amén, amén.
23Y el sacerdote escribirá estas maldiciones en un libro, y las borrará con las aguas amargas:
24Y dará á beber á la mujer las aguas amargas que traen maldición; y las aguas que obran maldición entrarán en ella por amargas.
25Después tomará el sacerdote de la mano de la mujer el presente de los celos, y mecerálo delante de Jehová, y lo ofrecerá delante del altar:
26Y tomará el sacerdote un puñado del presente, en memoria de ella, y lo quemará sobre el altar, y después dará á beber las aguas á la mujer.
27Darále pues á beber las aguas; y será, que si fuere inmunda y hubiere hecho traición contra su marido, las aguas que obran maldición entrarán en ella en amargura, y su vientre se hinchará, y caerá su muslo; y la mujer será por maldición en medio de su pueblo.
28Mas si la mujer no fuere inmunda, sino que estuviere limpia, ella será libre, y será fecunda.
29Esta es la ley de los celos, cuando la mujer hiciere traición á su marido, y se amancillare;
30O del marido, sobre el cual pasare espíritu de celo, y tuviere celos de su mujer: presentarála entonces delante de Jehová, y el sacerdote ejecutará en ella toda esta ley.
31Y aquel varón será libre de iniquidad, y la mujer llevará su pecado.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:
3Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.
4And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.
5And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
6Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty;
7Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
8But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.
9And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.
10And every man’s hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth the priest, it shall be his.
11And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
12Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man’s wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,
13And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner;
14And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:
15Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:
17And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:
18And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:
19And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:
20But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:
21Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;
22And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.
23And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water:
24And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.
25Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman’s hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar:
26And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.
27And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
28And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.
29This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled;
30Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.
31Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.
World English Bible
1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2“Command the children of Israel that they put out of the camp every leper, everyone who has a discharge, and whoever is unclean by a corpse.
3You shall put both male and female outside of the camp so that they don’t defile their camp, in the midst of which I dwell.”
4The children of Israel did so, and put them outside of the camp; as the LORD spoke to Moses, so the children of Israel did.
5The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
6“Speak to the children of Israel: ‘When a man or woman commits any sin that men commit, so as to trespass against the LORD, and that soul is guilty,
7then he shall confess his sin which he has done; and he shall make restitution for his guilt in full, add to it the fifth part of it, and give it to him in respect of whom he has been guilty.
8But if the man has no kinsman to whom restitution may be made for the guilt, the restitution for guilt which is made to the LORD shall be the priest’s, in addition to the ram of the atonement, by which atonement shall be made for him.
9Every heave offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they present to the priest, shall be his.
10Every man’s holy things shall be his; whatever any man gives the priest, it shall be his.’”
11The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
12“Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them: ‘If any man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him,
13and a man lies with her carnally, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband and this is kept concealed, and she is defiled, there is no witness against her, and she isn’t taken in the act;
14and the spirit of jealousy comes on him, and he is jealous of his wife and she is defiled; or if the spirit of jealousy comes on him, and he is jealous of his wife and she isn’t defiled;
15then the man shall bring his wife to the priest, and shall bring her offering for her: one tenth of an ephah of barley meal. He shall pour no oil on it, nor put frankincense on it, for it is a meal offering of jealousy, a meal offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to memory.
16The priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD.
17The priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and the priest shall take some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water.
18The priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and let the hair of the woman’s head go loose, and put the meal offering of memorial in her hands, which is the meal offering of jealousy. The priest shall have in his hand the water of bitterness that brings a curse.
19The priest shall cause her to take an oath and shall tell the woman, “If no man has lain with you, and if you haven’t gone aside to uncleanness, being under your husband’s authority, be free from this water of bitterness that brings a curse.
20But if you have gone astray, being under your husband’s authority, and if you are defiled, and some man has lain with you besides your husband—”
21then the priest shall cause the woman to swear with the oath of cursing, and the priest shall tell the woman, “May the LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the LORD allows your thigh to fall away, and your body to swell;
22and this water that brings a curse will go into your bowels, and make your body swell, and your thigh fall away.” The woman shall say, “Amen, Amen.”
23“‘The priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall wipe them into the water of bitterness.
24He shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that causes the curse; and the water that causes the curse shall enter into her and become bitter.
25The priest shall take the meal offering of jealousy out of the woman’s hand, and shall wave the meal offering before the LORD, and bring it to the altar.
26The priest shall take a handful of the meal offering, as its memorial portion, and burn it on the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water.
27When he has made her drink the water, then it shall happen, if she is defiled and has committed a trespass against her husband, that the water that causes the curse will enter into her and become bitter, and her body will swell, and her thigh will fall away; and the woman will be a curse among her people.
28If the woman isn’t defiled, but is clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive offspring.
29“‘This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, being under her husband, goes astray, and is defiled,
30or when the spirit of jealousy comes on a man, and he is jealous of his wife; then he shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute on her all this law.
31The man shall be free from iniquity, and that woman shall bear her iniquity.’”
