1Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et Aaron en ces termes :
2Forme la somme des fils de Kahath parmi les fils de Lévi, selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
3depuis les hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante, de tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
4Voici l'office des fils de Kahath dans la Tente du Rendez-vous : le soin du Lieu très-Saint.
5A la levée du camp, Aaron et ses fils y entreront et descendront le rideau qui le voile, et ils en couvriront l'Arche du Témoignage.
6Et ils superposeront une couverture de peau de chien de mer, et ils étendront par-dessus une draperie toute d'azur ; puis ils arrangeront les barres.
7Et sur la Table des Pains de Présentation ils étendront une draperie d'azur ; puis ils y placeront les plats et les coupes, et les jattes et les patères des libations ; le pain perpétuel devra s'y trouver.
8Et sur le tout ils étendront une draperie de vermillon qu'ils recouvriront d'une couverture de peau de chien de mer, puis ils arrangeront les barres.
9Et ils prendront une draperie d'azur dont ils couvriront le candélabre et ses lampes et ses mouchettes et ses pinces et tous ses vases à huile, employés à son service ;
10et ils le mettront avec tous ses ustensiles dans une enveloppe de peau de chien de mer et le placeront sur le brancard.
11Et sur l'Autel d'or ils étendront une draperie d'azur et le couvriront d'une couverture de peau de chien de mer ; puis ils arrangeront les barres.
12Et ils prendront tous les ustensiles de service employés à faire le service dans le Sanctuaire et les mettront dans une draperie d'azur et les couvriront d'une couverture de peau de chien de mer ; puis ils les placeront sur les brancards.
13Et ils enlèveront les cendres de l'Autel, sur lequel ils étendront une draperie de pourpre, puis sur lequel ils placeront tous ses ustensiles employés à y faire le service, les cendriers et les fourchettes et les pelles et les bassins, tous les ustensiles de l'Autel ;
14et ils étendront par-dessus une couverture de peau de chien de mer ; puis ils arrangeront les barres.
15Et lorsque Aaron et ses fils auront achevé de mettre à couvert le Sanctuaire et tous les meubles du Sanctuaire lors de la levée du camp, alors les fils de Kahath viendront pour le porter ; mais ils ne toucheront pas au Sanctuaire sous peine de mort. Tel est l'office de porteurs, des fils de Kahath dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
16Et Éléazar, fils du Prêtre Aaron, aura la surveillance de l'huile du candélabre et de l'encens aromatique et de l'offrande perpétuelle et de l'huile d'onction, la surveillance de toute la Résidence et de tout ce qu'elle contient, du Sanctuaire et de ses meubles.
17Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et Aaron en ces termes :
18N'exposez pas la race des familles des Kahathites à être exterminée du milieu des Lévites ;
19mais lorsqu'ils s'approcheront du Lieu très-Saint, voici comment vous vous y prendrez avec eux pour qu'ils vivent et ne périssent point : Aaron et ses fils y pénétreront, et assigneront à chacun d'eux son service et son fardeau,
20mais ceux-ci n'y entreront point pour voir, même un instant, le Sanctuaire et mourir.
21Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes :
22Forme aussi la somme des fils de Gerson, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, selon leurs familles ;
23tu les recenseras depuis ceux de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante, tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
24Voici les fonctions des familles des Gersonites quant à ce qu'ils auront à faire et à ce qu'ils auront à porter :
25ils porteront les tentures de la Résidence et la Tente du Rendez-vous avec sa couverture et la couverture de peau de chien de mer superposée à celle-ci, et le Rideau de la porte de la Tente du Rendez-vous
26et les toiles du Parvis et le rideau de l'ouverture de la Porte du Parvis qui entoure la Résidence et l'Autel de toute part, et leurs cordes et toutes les pièces de leur appareil ; d'ailleurs ils feront tout ce qui doit y être fait.
27Les Gersonites seront sous les ordres d'Aaron et de ses fils pour toutes leurs fonctions, dans tous les cas où ils seront porteurs et officiants ; vous leur remettrez la garde de tout ce qu'ils auront à porter.
28Voilà l'office des familles des Gersonites auprès de la Tente du Rendez-vous, et ce dont ils prendront soin sous la direction de Ithamar, fils du Prêtre Aaron.
29Tu recenseras les fils de Merari selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
30depuis les hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante, tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
31Et voici ce qu'ils auront à soigner et à porter pour tout service de leur part dans la Tente du Rendez-vous : les ais de la Résidence et leurs traverses et ses colonnes et leurs soubassements et les piliers du pourtour du Parvis et leurs soubassements et leurs clous
32et leurs cordes, toutes leurs pièces et tout leur appareil, et vous dresserez nominativement l'état des pièces qu'ils auront à soigner et à porter.
33Voilà l'office des familles des Merarites, tout le service qu'ils feront dans la Tente du Rendez-vous sous la direction de Ithamar, fils du Prêtre Aaron.
34Ainsi Moïse et Aaron et les Princes de l'Assemblée recensèrent les fils des Kahathites selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
35depuis ceux de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante ans, tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
36Et le nombre de leurs hommes recensés d'après leurs familles fut de deux mille sept cent cinquante.
37Tels sont les hommes recensés des familles des Kahathites, tous servant dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, desquels le recensement fut fait par Moïse et Aaron sur l'ordre de l'Éternel par l'organe de Moïse.
38Quant à ceux des Gersonites qui furent recensés selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
39depuis les hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante ans, à tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous,
40le nombre des Gersonites recensés selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, fut de deux mille six cent trente.
41Tels sont les hommes recensés des familles des Gersonites, tous ceux qui faisaient un service dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, desquels Moïse et Aaron firent le recensement sur l'ordre de l'Éternel.
42Quant à ceux des familles des Merarites qui furent recensés selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
43depuis les hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante, tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous,
44le nombre des Merarites recensés d'après leurs familles fut de trois mille deux cents.
45Tels sont les hommes recensés des familles des Merarites, desquels Moïse et Aaron firent le recensement sur l'ordre de l'Éternel par l'organe de Moïse.
46Total des hommes des Lévites recensés dont le recensement fut fait par Moïse et Aaron et les Princes d'Israël, selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
47des hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante ans, tous capables de servir pour exercer une fonction et l'office de porteurs dans la Tente du Rendez-vous,
48total des Lévites recensés : huit mille cinq cent quatre-vingts.
49Ils furent recensés sur l'ordre de l'Éternel par l'organe de Moïse, chacun d'après sa fonction et son office de porteur, ceux-là étant recensés que l'Éternel avait indiqués à Moïse.

2Toma la cuenta de los hijos de Coath de entre los hijos de Leví, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres,
3De edad de treinta años arriba hasta cincuenta años, todos los que entran en compañía, para hacer servicio en el tabernáculo del testimonio.
4Este será el oficio de los hijos de Coath en el tabernáculo del testimonio, en el lugar santísimo:
5Cuando se hubiere de mudar el campo, vendrán Aarón y sus hijos, y desarmarán el velo de la tienda, y cubrirán con él el arca del testimonio:
6Y pondrán sobre ella la cubierta de pieles de tejones, y extenderán encima el paño todo de cárdeno, y le pondrán sus varas.
7Y sobre la mesa de la proposición extenderán el paño cárdeno, y pondrán sobre ella las escudillas, y las cucharas, y las copas, y los tazones para libar: y el pan continuo estará sobre ella.
8Y extenderán sobre ella el paño de carmesí colorado, y lo cubrirán con la cubierta de pieles de tejones; y le pondrán sus varas.
9Y tomarán un paño cárdeno, y cubrirán el candelero de la luminaria; y sus candilejas, y sus despabiladeras, y sus platillos, y todos sus vasos del aceite con que se sirve;
10Y lo pondrán con todos sus vasos en una cubierta de pieles de tejones, y lo colocarán sobre unas parihuelas.
11Y sobre el altar de oro extenderán el paño cárdeno, y le cubrirán con la cubierta de pieles de tejones, y le pondrán sus varales.
12Y tomarán todos los vasos del servicio, de que hacen uso en el santuario, y los pondrán en un paño cárdeno, y los cubrirán con una cubierta de pieles de tejones, y los colocarán sobre unas parihuelas.
13Y quitarán la ceniza del altar, y extenderán sobre él un paño de púrpura:
14Y pondrán sobre él todos sus instrumentos de que se sirve: las paletas, los garfios, los braseros, y los tazones, todos los vasos del altar; y extenderán sobre él la cubierta de pieles de tejones, y le pondrán además las varas.
15Y en acabando Aarón y sus hijos de cubrir el santuario y todos los vasos del santuario, cuando el campo se hubiere de mudar, vendrán después de ello los hijos de Coath para conducir: mas no tocarán cosa santa, que morirán. Estas serán las cargas de los hijos de Coath en el tabernáculo del testimonio.
16Empero al cargo de Eleazar, hijo de Aarón el sacerdote, estará el aceite de la luminaria, y el perfume aromático, y el presente continuo, y el aceite de la unción; el cargo de todo el tabernáculo, y de todo lo que está en él, en el santuario, y en sus vasos.
17Y habló Jehová á Moisés y á Aarón, diciendo:
18No cortaréis la tribu de las familias de Coath de entre los Levitas;
19Mas esto haréis con ellos, para que vivan, y no mueran cuando llegaren al lugar santísimo: Aarón y sus hijos vendrán y los pondrán á cada uno en su oficio, y en su cargo.
20No entrarán para ver, cuando cubrieren las cosas santas; que morirán.
21Y habló Jehová á Moisés diciendo:
22Toma también la cuenta de los hijos de Gersón por las casas de sus padres, por sus familias.
23De edad de treinta años arriba hasta cincuenta años los contarás; todos los que entran en compañía, para hacer servicio en el tabernáculo del testimonio.
24Este será el oficio de las familias de Gersón, para ministrar y para llevar:
25Llevarán las cortinas del tabernáculo, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, su cubierta, y la cubierta de pieles de tejones que está sobre él encima, y el pabellón de la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio,
26Y las cortinas del atrio, y el pabellón de la puerta del atrio, que está cerca del tabernáculo y cerca del altar alrededor, y sus cuerdas, y todos los instrumentos de su servicio, y todo lo que será hecho para ellos: así servirán.
27Según la orden de Aarón y de sus hijos será todo el ministerio de los hijos de Gersón en todos sus cargos, y en todo su servicio: y les encomendaréis en guarda todos sus cargos.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
2Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers,
3From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.
4This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things:
5And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:
6And shall put thereon the covering of badgers’ skins, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof.
7And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and covers to cover withal: and the continual bread shall be thereon:
8And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put in the staves thereof.
9And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the light, and his lamps, and his tongs, and his snuffdishes, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they minister unto it:

16And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.
17And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
18Cut ye not off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites:
19But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:
20But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.
21And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
22Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, throughout the houses of their fathers, by their families;
23From thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou number them; all that enter in to perform the service, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.
24This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, to serve, and for burdens:
25And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of the congregation, his covering, and the covering of the badgers’ skins that is above upon it, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,
26And the hangings of the court, and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so shall they serve.
27At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.
28This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation: and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
29As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their families, by the house of their fathers;

34And Moses and Aaron and the chief of the congregation numbered the sons of the Kohathites after their families, and after the house of their fathers,
35From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation:
36And those that were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty.
37These were they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, which Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
38And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, throughout their families, and by the house of their fathers,
39From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation,
40Even those that were numbered of them, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers, were two thousand and six hundred and thirty.
41These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that might do service in the tabernacle of the congregation, whom Moses and Aaron did number according to the commandment of the LORD.
42And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, throughout their families, by the house of their fathers,
43From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation,
44Even those that were numbered of them after their families, were three thousand and two hundred.
45These be those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
46All those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the chief of Israel numbered, after their families, and after the house of their fathers,
47From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that came to do the service of the ministry, and the service of the burden in the tabernacle of the congregation,
48Even those that were numbered of them, were eight thousand and five hundred and fourscore.
49According to the commandment of the LORD they were numbered by the hand of Moses, every one according to his service, and according to his burden: thus were they numbered of him, as the LORD commanded Moses.

1The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
2“Take a census of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers’ houses,
3from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all who enter into the service to do the work in the Tent of Meeting.
4“This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the Tent of Meeting, regarding the most holy things.
5When the camp moves forward, Aaron shall go in with his sons; and they shall take down the veil of the screen, cover the ark of the Testimony with it,
6put a covering of sealskin on it, spread a blue cloth over it, and put in its poles.
7“On the table of show bread they shall spread a blue cloth, and put on it the dishes, the spoons, the bowls, and the cups with which to pour out; and the continual bread shall be on it.
8They shall spread on them a scarlet cloth, and cover it with a covering of sealskin, and shall put in its poles.
9“They shall take a blue cloth and cover the lamp stand of the light, its lamps, its snuffers, its snuff dishes, and all its oil vessels, with which they minister to it.
10They shall put it and all its vessels within a covering of sealskin, and shall put it on the frame.
11“On the golden altar they shall spread a blue cloth, and cover it with a covering of sealskin, and shall put in its poles.
12“They shall take all the vessels of ministry with which they minister in the sanctuary, and put them in a blue cloth, cover them with a covering of sealskin, and shall put them on the frame.
13“They shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth on it.
14They shall put on it all its vessels with which they minister about it, the fire pans, the meat hooks, the shovels, and the basins—all the vessels of the altar; and they shall spread on it a covering of sealskin, and put in its poles.
15“When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp moves forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it; but they shall not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. The sons of Kohath shall carry these things belonging to the Tent of Meeting.
16“The duty of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be the oil for the light, the sweet incense, the continual meal offering, and the anointing oil, the requirements of all the tabernacle, and of all that is in it, the sanctuary, and its furnishings.”
17The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
18“Don’t cut off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites;
19but do this to them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and appoint everyone to his service and to his burden;
20but they shall not go in to see the sanctuary even for a moment, lest they die.”
21The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
22“Take a census of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers’ houses, by their families;
23you shall count them from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old: all who enter in to wait on the service, to do the work in the Tent of Meeting.
24“This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in bearing burdens:
25they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the Tent of Meeting, its covering, the covering of sealskin that is on it, the screen for the door of the Tent of Meeting,
26the hangings of the court, the screen for the door of the gate of the court which is by the tabernacle and around the altar, their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and whatever shall be done with them. They shall serve in there.
27At the commandment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burden and in all their service; and you shall appoint their duty to them in all their responsibilities.
28This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the Tent of Meeting. Their duty shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
29“As for the sons of Merari, you shall count them by their families, by their fathers’ houses;
30you shall count them from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who enters on the service, to do the work of the Tent of Meeting.
31This is the duty of their burden, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting: the tabernacle’s boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets,
32the pillars of the court around it, their sockets, their pins, their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service. You shall appoint the instruments of the duty of their burden to them by name.
33This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.”
34Moses and Aaron and the princes of the congregation counted the sons of the Kohathites by their families, and by their fathers’ houses,
35from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting.
36Those who were counted of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred fifty.
37These are those who were counted of the families of the Kohathites, all who served in the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of the LORD by Moses.
38Those who were counted of the sons of Gershon, by their families, and by their fathers’ houses,
39from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting,
40even those who were counted of them, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, were two thousand six hundred thirty.
41These are those who were counted of the families of the sons of Gershon, all who served in the Tent of Meeting, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of the LORD.
42Those who were counted of the families of the sons of Merari, by their families, by their fathers’ houses,
43from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old—everyone who entered into the service for work in the Tent of Meeting,
44even those who were counted of them by their families, were three thousand two hundred.
45These are those who were counted of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron counted according to the commandment of the LORD by Moses.
46All those who were counted of the Levites whom Moses and Aaron and the princes of Israel counted, by their families and by their fathers’ houses,
47from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who entered in to do the work of service and the work of bearing burdens in the Tent of Meeting,
48even those who were counted of them, were eight thousand five hundred eighty.
49According to the commandment of the LORD they were counted by Moses, everyone according to his service and according to his burden. Thus they were counted by him, as the LORD commanded Moses.
