Y él Señor dijo a Moisés en las llanuras de Moab junto al Jordán en Jericó:

Y HABLÓ Jehová á Moisés en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán de Jericó, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

The LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

Da órdenes a los hijos de Israel de darles a los levitas, de la herencia que les pertenece, pueblos para ellos mismos, con tierras en las afueras de los pueblos.

Manda á los hijos de Israel, que den á los Levitas de la posesión de su heredad ciudades en que habiten: también daréis á los Levitas los ejidos de esas ciudades alrededor de ellas.

Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

“Command the children of Israel to give to the Levites cities to dwell in out of their inheritance. You shall give pasture lands for the cities around them to the Levites.

Estas ciudades serán sus lugares de habitación, con tierra alrededor de ellos para su ganado y su alimento y todas sus bestias,

Y tendrán ellos las ciudades para habitar, y los ejidos de ellas serán para sus animales, y para sus ganados, y para todas sus bestias.

And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

They shall have the cities to dwell in. Their pasture lands shall be for their livestock, and for their possessions, and for all their animals.

Extendiéndose desde la muralla de las ciudades a una distancia de mil codos a lo largo.

Y los ejidos de las ciudades que daréis á los Levitas, serán mil codos alrededor, desde el muro de la ciudad para afuera.

And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.

“The pasture lands of the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward one thousand cubits around it.

La medida de este espacio de tierra será de dos mil codos fuera de la ciudad en el este, y dos mil codos en el sur y en el oeste y en el norte, la ciudad está en el centro. Este espacio será a las afueras de sus pueblos.

Luego mediréis fuera de la ciudad á la parte del oriente dos mil codos, y á la parte del mediodía dos mil codos, y á la parte del occidente dos mil codos, y á la parte del norte dos mil codos, y la ciudad en medio: esto tendrán por los ejidos de las ciudades.

And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

You shall measure outside of the city for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the middle. This shall be the pasture lands of their cities.

Y de los pueblos que les das a los levitas serán seis pueblos serán de refugio para los homicidas puedan huir; y además tienes que darles cuarenta y dos pueblos.

Y de las ciudades que daréis á los Levitas, seis ciudades serán de acogimiento, las cuales daréis para que el homicida se acoja allá: y además de éstas daréis cuarenta y dos ciudades.

And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.

“The cities which you shall give to the Levites, they shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the man slayer to flee to. Besides them you shall give forty-two cities.

Se darán cuarenta y ocho pueblos a los levitas, todos con tierra alrededor de ellos.

Todas las ciudades que daréis á los Levitas serán cuarenta y ocho ciudades; ellas con sus ejidos.

So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs.

All the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities together with their pasture lands.

Y estas ciudades deben ser sacadas del patrimonio de los hijos de Israel, tomando el mayor número de aquellos que tienen mucho, y un número menor de los que tienen poco: todos, en la medida de su patrimonio, Es dar de su propiedad a los levitas.

Y las ciudades que diereis de la heredad de los hijos de Israel, del que mucho tomaréis mucho, y del que poco tomaréis poco: cada uno dará de sus ciudades á los Levitas según la posesión que heredará.

And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.

Concerning the cities which you shall give of the possession of the children of Israel, from the many you shall take many, and from the few you shall take few. Everyone according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give some of his cities to the Levites.”

Y él Señor dijo a Moisés:

Y habló Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

Di a los hijos de Israel, cuando hayas pasado el Jordán a la tierra de Canaán;

Habla á los hijos de Israel, y diles: Cuando hubiereis pasado el Jordán á la tierra de Canaán,

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

“Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

Luego, deje que ciertas ciudades se marquen como ciudades de refugio para que cualquiera que tome la vida de otro por error puede irse en fuga.

Os señalaréis ciudades, ciudades de acogimiento tendréis, donde huya el homicida que hiriere á alguno de muerte por yerro.

Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.

then you shall appoint for yourselves cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the man slayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.

En estas ciudades pueden estar a salvo del vengador, de quien tiene el derecho de castigo; para que la muerte no alcance al que toma la vida hasta que haya sido juzgado por la reunión de la gente.

Y os serán aquellas ciudades por acogimiento del pariente, y no morirá el homicida hasta que esté á juicio delante de la congregación.

And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

The cities shall be for your refuge from the avenger, that the man slayer not die until he stands before the congregation for judgment.

Seis de los pueblos que das serán lugares de refugio;

De las ciudades, pues, que daréis, tendréis seis ciudades de acogimiento.

And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge.

The cities which you shall give shall be for you six cities of refuge.

Tres al otro lado del Jordán y tres en la tierra de Canaán, para ser lugares de refugio.

Tres ciudades daréis de esta parte del Jordán, y tres ciudades daréis en la tierra de Canaán; las cuales serán ciudades de acogimiento.

Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge.

You shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and you shall give three cities in the land of Canaan. They shall be cities of refuge.

Para los hijos de Israel y para el hombre de otro país que vive entre ellos, estos seis pueblos deben ser lugares seguros, donde cualquiera que cause la muerte de otro por error puede irse en fuga.

Estas seis ciudades serán para acogimiento á los hijos de Israel, y al peregrino, y al que morare entre ellos, para que huya allá cualquiera que hiriere de muerte á otro por yerro.

These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.

These six cities shall be refuge for the children of Israel, for the stranger, and for the foreigner living among them, that everyone who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.

Pero si un hombre le da un golpe a otro hombre con un instrumento de hierro, causando su muerte, él es un homicida; ciertamente será ejecutado.

Y si con instrumento de hierro lo hiriere y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá:

And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

“‘But if he struck him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.

O si él le da un golpe con una piedra en la mano, causando su muerte, él es homicida y será ejecutado.

Y si con piedra de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.

And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

If he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.

O si le dio golpes con un instrumento de madera en las manos, causando su muerte, es un homicida y será ejecutado.

Y si con instrumento de palo de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá.

Or if he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

Or if he struck him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.

El que tiene derecho a vengar la sangre, puede dar muerte al que toma la vida cuando se encuentra cara a cara con él.

El pariente del muerto, él matará al homicida: cuando lo encontrare, él le matará.

The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death. When he meets him, he shall put him to death.

Si en su odio lo atravesó con una espada, o esperándolo secretamente, le envió una lanza o una piedra, causándole la muerte;

Y si por odio lo empujó, ó echó sobre él alguna cosa por asechanzas, y muere;

But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;

If he shoved him out of hatred, or hurled something at him while lying in wait, so that he died,

O en el odio le dio golpes con la mano, causando la muerte; el que dio el golpe mortal será condenado a muerte; es un homicida: el que tiene el derecho de vengar la sangre puede matar al que toma la vida cuando se encuentra cara a cara con él.

O por enemistad lo hirió con su mano, y murió: el heridor morirá; es homicida; el pariente del muerto matará al homicida, cuando lo encontrare.

Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.

or in hostility struck him with his hand, so that he died, he who struck him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.

Pero si un hombre ha dado una herida a otro de repente y no con odio, o sin asechanzas, ha enviado algo contra él.

Mas si casualmente lo empujó sin enemistades, ó echó sobre él cualquier instrumento sin asechanzas,

But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,

“‘But if he shoved him suddenly without hostility, or hurled on him anything without lying in wait,

O le ha dado un golpe con una piedra, sin verlo, causando su muerte, aunque no tenía nada contra él ni deseo de hacerle maldad:

O bien, sin verlo, hizo caer sobre él alguna piedra, de que pudo morir, y muriere, y él no era su enemigo, ni procuraba su mal;

Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his harm:

or with any stone, by which a man may die, not seeing him, and cast it on him so that he died, and he was not his enemy and not seeking his harm,

Entonces, la reunión de la gente sea juez entre el hombre responsable de la muerte y el que tiene el derecho de vengar la sangre, actuando según estas reglas:

Entonces la congregación juzgará entre el heridor y el pariente del muerto conforme á estas leyes:

Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments:

then the congregation shall judge between the striker and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances.

Deje que la gente mantenga al hombre responsable de la muerte a salvo de las manos de quien tiene el derecho de vengar la sangre, y envíelo de vuelta a su pueblo a la ciudad de refugio donde había ido en vuelo: allí lo dejará estar hasta La muerte del sumo sacerdote que fue ungido con el aceite santo.

Y la congregación librará al homicida de mano del pariente del muerto, y la congregación lo hará volver á su ciudad de acogimiento, á la cual se había acogido; y morará en ella hasta que muera el gran sacerdote, el cual fué ungido con el aceite santo.

And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

The congregation shall deliver the man slayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, where he had fled. He shall dwell therein until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

Pero si él homicida alguna vez sale de los muros de la ciudad segura donde había ido en vuelo,

Y si el homicida saliere fuera del término de su ciudad de refugio, á la cual se acogió,

But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled;

“‘But if the man slayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge where he flees,

Y ​​ que él vengador, encontrándose con él fuera de las murallas de la ciudad, lo mata, no será responsable de su sangre:

Y el pariente del muerto le hallare fuera del término de la ciudad de su acogida, y el pariente del muerto al homicida matare, no se le culpará por ello:

And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood:

and the avenger of blood finds him outside of the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the man slayer, he shall not be guilty of blood,

Porque le habían ordenado que se mantuviera dentro de la ciudad segura hasta la muerte del sumo sacerdote: pero después de la muerte del sumo sacerdote, el que toma la vida puede volver al lugar de su herencia.

Pues en su ciudad de refugio deberá aquél habitar hasta que muera el gran sacerdote: y después que muriere el gran sacerdote, el homicida volverá á la tierra de su posesión.

Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.

Estas reglas deben ser tu guía para juzgar a través de todas tus generaciones dondequiera que estén viviendo.

Y estas cosas os serán por ordenanza de derecho por vuestras edades, en todas vuestras habitaciones.

So these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

“‘These things shall be for a statute and ordinance to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

Cualquier persona que cause la muerte de otro debe ser ejecutada por la palabra de los testigos, pero la palabra de un testigo no es suficiente.

Cualquiera que hiriere á alguno, por dicho de testigos, morirá el homicida: mas un solo testigo no hará fe contra alguna persona para que muera.

Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die.

“‘Whoever kills any person, the murderer shall be slain based on the testimony of witnesses; but one witness shall not testify alone against any person so that he dies.

Además, no se puede dar un precio por la vida de quien ha quitado la vida y cuya recompensa correcta es la muerte: ciertamente debe ser condenado a muerte.

Y no tomaréis precio por la vida del homicida; porque está condenado á muerte: mas indefectiblemente morirá.

Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.

“‘Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death. He shall surely be put to death.

Y no se puede ofrecer ningún precio a uno que haya ido en vuelo a una ciudad de refugio, con el propósito de permitirle regresar a su lugar antes de la muerte del sumo sacerdote.

Ni tampoco tomaréis precio del que huyó á su ciudad de refugio, para que vuelva á vivir en su tierra, hasta que muera el sacerdote.

And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

“‘You shall take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may come again to dwell in the land before the death of the priest.

Por lo tanto, no contamines la tierra en la que vives, porque esta sangre la mancilla, y no hay manera de liberarla de la sangre que ha venido sobre ella, sino sólo por la muerte de aquel que fue la causa de ello.

Y no contaminaréis la tierra donde estuviereis: porque esta sangre amancillará la tierra: y la tierra no será expiada de la sangre que fué derramada en ella, sino por la sangre del que la derramó.

So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

“‘So you shall not pollute the land where you live; for blood pollutes the land. No atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.

No contamines la tierra en la que viven y en medio de la cual viviré, porque yo, el Señor, estoy presente entre los hijos de Israel.

No contaminéis, pues, la tierra donde habitáis, en medio de la cual yo habito; porque yo Jehová habito en medio de los hijos de Israel.

Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.

You shall not defile the land which you inhabit, where I dwell; for I, the LORD, dwell among the children of Israel.’”
