Los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad tenían una inmensa cantidad de ganado. Vieron que la tierra de Jazer y la tierra de Galaad eran un lugar ideal para el ganado.
Y LOS hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad tenían una muy grande muchedumbre de ganado; los cuales viendo la tierra de Jazer y de Galaad, parecióles el país lugar de ganado.
Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;

Entonces los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén vinieron y hablaron a Moisés, al sacerdote Eleazar y a los jefes de la congregación, diciendo:

“Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon,
la tierra que Yahvé conquistó delante de la congregación de Israel, es tierra buena para el ganado; y vuestros siervos tienen ganado».
La tierra que Jehová hirió delante de la congregación de Israel, es tierra de ganado, y tus siervos tienen ganado.
Even the country which the LORD smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle:
the land which the LORD struck before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock; and your servants have livestock.”
Y añadieron: «Si hemos hallado gracia a tus ojos, que se dé esta tierra a tus siervos como posesión. No nos hagas cruzar el Jordán».
Por tanto, dijeron, si hallamos gracia en tus ojos, dése esta tierra á tus siervos en heredad, y no nos hagas pasar el Jordán.
Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan.
They said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession. Don’t bring us over the Jordan.”
Moisés respondió a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén: “¿Acaso irán vuestros hermanos a la guerra mientras vosotros os quedáis sentados aquí?
Y respondió Moisés á los hijos de Gad y á los hijos de Rubén: ¿Vendrán vuestros hermanos á la guerra, y vosotros os quedaréis aquí?
And Moses said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?

Que no verán los varones que subieron de Egipto de veinte años arriba, la tierra por la cual juré á Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob, por cuanto no fueron perfectos en pos de mí;
Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

a excepción de Caleb, hijo de Jefone el cenezeo, y de Josué, hijo de Nun, porque ellos sí siguieron fielmente a Yahvé’.

La ira de Yahvé se encendió contra Israel, y los hizo vagar por el desierto durante cuarenta años, hasta que se consumió toda la generación que había hecho lo malo a los ojos de Yahvé.
Y el furor de Jehová se encendió en Israel, é hízolos andar errantes cuarenta años por el desierto, hasta que fué acabada toda aquella generación, que había hecho mal delante de Jehová.
And the LORD’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.

«Y he aquí, vosotros os habéis levantado en lugar de vuestros padres, una prole de hombres pecadores, para aumentar aún más la ardiente ira de Yahvé contra Israel.

And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.

Porque si os apartáis de seguirle, él volverá a dejarlos en el desierto, y seréis la causa de la destrucción de todo este pueblo».

For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.

Ellos se acercaron a Moisés y le dijeron: «Edificaremos aquí apriscos para nuestros ganados y ciudades para nuestros pequeños;
Entonces ellos se llegaron á él y dijeron: Edificaremos aquí majadas para nuestro ganado, y ciudades para nuestros niños;
And they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones:

pero nosotros mismos nos armaremos y marcharemos en la vanguardia de los hijos de Israel, hasta que los hayamos llevado a su lugar. Mientras tanto, nuestros pequeños vivirán en las ciudades fortificadas a causa de los habitantes de la tierra.
Y nosotros nos armaremos, é iremos con diligencia delante de los hijos de Israel, hasta que los metamos en su lugar: y nuestros niños quedarán en ciudades fuertes á causa de los moradores del país.
But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

No volveremos a nuestras casas hasta que cada uno de los hijos de Israel haya tomado posesión de su herencia.

For we will not inherit with them on yonder side Jordan, or forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan eastward.

Moisés les dijo: “Si hacéis esto, si os armáis para ir a la guerra delante de Yahvé,
Entonces les respondió Moisés: Si lo hiciereis así, si os apercibiereis para ir delante de Jehová á la guerra,
And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before the LORD to war,
Moses said to them: “If you will do this thing, if you will arm yourselves to go before the LORD to the war,
y todos vuestros hombres armados cruzan el Jordán delante de Yahvé, hasta que él haya expulsado a sus enemigos de su presencia,
Y pasareis todos vosotros armados el Jordán delante de Jehová, hasta que haya echado á sus enemigos de delante de sí,
And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him,
and every one of your armed men will pass over the Jordan before the LORD until he has driven out his enemies from before him,
y la tierra sea sometida delante de Yahvé; entonces, después podréis regresar, y quedaréis libres de obligación hacia Yahvé y hacia Israel. Y esta tierra será vuestra posesión delante de Yahvé.
Y sea el país sojuzgado delante de Jehová; luego volveréis, y seréis libres de culpa para con Jehová, y para con Israel; y esta tierra será vuestra en heredad delante de Jehová.
And the land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD.

«Pero si no lo hacéis así, he aquí habréis pecado contra Yahvé; y sabed que vuestro pecado os alcanzará.

But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

Edificad ciudades para vuestros pequeños y rediles para vuestras ovejas, pero cumplid lo que ha salido de vuestra boca».

Los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén hablaron a Moisés y le dijeron: «Tus siervos harán tal como ordena mi señor.
Y hablaron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén á Moisés, diciendo: Tus siervos harán como mi señor ha mandado.
And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake unto Moses, saying, Thy servants will do as my lord commandeth.

Nuestros pequeños, nuestras mujeres, nuestros rebaños y todo nuestro ganado se quedarán allí en las ciudades de Galaad;
Nuestros niños, nuestras mujeres, nuestros ganados, y todas nuestras bestias, estarán ahí en las ciudades de Galaad;
Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead:

pero tus siervos cruzarán, cada uno de ellos armado para la guerra, delante de Yahvé para la batalla, tal como dice mi señor».
Y tus siervos, armados todos de guerra, pasarán delante de Jehová á la guerra, de la manera que mi señor dice.
But thy servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before the LORD to battle, as my lord saith.

Entonces Moisés dio órdenes acerca de ellos al sacerdote Eleazar, a Josué hijo de Nun, y a los jefes de las casas paternas de las tribus de los hijos de Israel.
Entonces los encomendó Moisés á Eleazar el sacerdote, y á Josué hijo de Nun, y á los príncipes de los padres de las tribus de los hijos de Israel.
So concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
So Moses commanded concerning them to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers’ households of the tribes of the children of Israel.
Moisés les dijo: «Si los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén cruzan con vosotros el Jordán, cada uno armado para la batalla delante de Yahvé, y la tierra es sometida delante de vosotros, les daréis la tierra de Galaad en posesión;
Y díjoles Moisés: Si los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén, pasaren con vosotros el Jordán, armados todos de guerra delante de Jehová, luego que el país fuere sojuzgado delante de vosotros, les daréis la tierra de Galaad en posesión:
And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:
Moses said to them, “If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over the Jordan, every man who is armed to battle before the LORD, and the land is subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession;
pero si no cruzan armados con vosotros, tendrán posesión entre vosotros en la tierra de Canaán».
Mas si no pasaren armados con vosotros, entonces tendrán posesión entre vosotros en la tierra de Canaán.
But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.

Los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén respondieron diciendo: «Lo que Yahvé ha dicho a tus siervos, eso haremos.

And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.

Cruzaremos armados delante de Yahvé a la tierra de Canaán, pero la posesión de nuestra herencia permanecerá con nosotros a este lado del Jordán».
Nosotros pasaremos armados delante de Jehová á la tierra de Canaán, y la posesión de nuestra heredad será de esta parte del Jordán.
We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan may be ours.
We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us beyond the Jordan.”
Así, Moisés dio a los hijos de Gad, a los hijos de Rubén y a la media tribu de Manasés, hijo de José, el reino de Sehón, rey de los amorreos, y el reino de Og, rey de Basán: la tierra con sus ciudades y sus territorios correspondientes, las ciudades de la tierra circundante.
Así les dió Moisés á los hijos de Gad y á los hijos de Rubén, y á la media tribu de Manasés hijo de José, el reino de Sehón rey Amorrheo, y el reino de Og rey de Basán, la tierra con sus ciudades y términos, las ciudades del país alrededor.
And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.
