1Yahweh falou a Moisés, dizendo:
2"Vinga o povo de Israel contra os midianitas. Após isso, morrerás e te reunirás ao teu povo".
3Então Moisés falou ao povo, dizendo: "Armai alguns de vossos homens para que saiam contra Midiã e executem a vingança de Yahweh.
4Toda tribo dentro de Israel enviará mil soldados à guerra".
5Assim, dentre os milhares e milhares de homens de Israel, foram fornecidos mil de cada tribo para a guerra. Doze mil homens ao todo.
6Então, Moisés os enviou para a batalha, mil de cada tribo, juntamente com Fineias, filho do sacerdote Eleazar, com alguns utensílios do Lugar Santo e trombetas em sua posse, para soar os alarmes.
7Guerrearam contra Midiã, como Yahweh havia ordenado a Moisés. Mataram todos os homens.
8Juntamente com os outros mortos, mataram os reis de Midiã, Evi, Requém, Zur, Hur e Reba, os cinco reis de Midiã. Também mataram Balaão, filho de Beor, pela espada.
9Os exércitos de Israel capturaram as mulheres de Midiã, suas crianças, todo o gado, rebanho e todos os seus bens. Levaram isso como despojos.
10Queimaram todas as suas cidades onde viviam, e todos os seus acampamentos.
11Levaram como despojos e prisioneiros, tanto as pessoas como os animais.
12Trouxeram os prisioneiros e os despojos, as coisas capturadas a Moisés, ao sacerdote Eleazar e à comunidade do povo de Israel. Trouxeram isso ao acampamento na planície de Moabe, ao lado do Jordão, próximo a Jericó.
13Moisés, o sacerdote Eleazar e todos os líderes da comunidade foram ao encontro deles fora do acampamento.
14Mas Moisés estava irado com os oficiais do exército, os comandantes dos mil e os capitães de cem, que vieram da batalha.
15Moisés lhes disse: "Deixastes todas as mulheres vivas?
16Vede, essas foram as mulheres que, por conselho de Balaão, fizeram com que o povo de Israel pecasse contra Yahweh no caso de Peor, quando a praga se espalhou entre a comunidade de Yahweh.
17Agora, matai todos os meninos entre as crianças, e todas as mulheres que já dormiram com algum homem.
18Mas tomai para si todas a moças que nunca dormiram com um homem.
19Acampai do lado de fora do acampamento de Israel durante sete dias. Todos aqueles dentre vós que mataram alguém ou tocaram algum morto, deverão se purificar no terceiro dia e no sétimo dia, vós e vossos prisioneiros.
20Purificai todo vestuário, tudo feito de couro de animal, pelo de bode e tudo que é feito de madeira".
21O sacerdote Eleazar disse aos soldados que foram para a guerra: "Esta é a lei decretada que Yahweh deu a Moisés:
22o ouro, a prata, o bronze, o ferro, o latão e o chumbo,
23e tudo que for resistente ao fogo, deverão passar pelo fogo. Então estarão puros. Depois, purificareis essas coisas com a água da purificação. Tudo aquilo que não puder ser passado pelo fogo deverá ser limpo com aquela água.
24Lavareis as vossas vestes no sétimo dia, e então ficareis limpos. Depois, podereis entrar no acampamento de Israel".
25Então, Yahweh falou a Moisés dizendo:
26"Conta todos os despojos tomados, tanto de pessoas quanto de animais. Tu, com o sacerdote Eleazar, e os líderes da comunidade dos clãs dos antepassados
27dividireis os despojos em duas partes, entre os soldados que saíram para a batalha, e todo o resto da comunidade.
28Dos soldados que foram para a batalha, coleta um tributo a ser dado a Mim. Este tributo será um a cada quinhentos, dentre pessoas, gado, jumentos, ovelhas, ou bodes.
29Coleta este tributo da metade deles e o entrega ao sacerdote Eleazar, como uma oferta para ser apresentada a Mim.
30Também da metade do povo de Israel, tu separarás um de cada cinquenta, dentre pessoas, gado, jumento, ovelhas, e bodes. Entrega-os aos levitas que cuidam do meu Tabernáculo".
31Então, Moisés e o sacerdote Eleazar fizeram como Yahweh havia ordenado a Moisés.
32Os despojos que restaram do que os soldados tomaram foram seiscentos e setenta e cinco mil ovelhas,
33setenta e dois mil bois,
34sessenta e um mil jumentos,
35e trinta e duas mil mulheres que nunca dormiram com homem algum.
36A metade que foi mantida com os soldados era em número de trezentos e trinta e sete mil ovelhas.
37A parte de Yahweh dentre as ovelhas foi seiscentos e setenta e cinco.
38Os bois eram trinta e seis mil, dos quais o tributo a Yahweh foi setenta e dois.
39Os jumentos eram trinta mil e quinhentos, dos quais a parte a Yahweh foi sessenta e um.
40As pessoas eram dezesseis mil mulheres, das quais o tributo a Yahweh foi trinta e duas pessoas.
41Moisés tomou o tributo para ser uma oferta apresentada a Yahweh. Ele a entregou ao sacerdote Eleazar, como Yahweh ordenara Moisés.
42Quanto à metade do povo de Israel que Moisés havia tomado dos soldados que tinham ido para a guerra:
43a metade da comunidade era de trezentas e trinta e sete mil e quinhentas ovelhas,
44trinta e seis mil bois,
45trinta mil e quinhentos jumentos,
46e dezesseis mil mulheres.
47Da metade do povo de Israel, Moisés tomou um de cada cinquenta, tanto de pessoas quanto de animais. Ele os entregou aos levitas que cuidavam do tabernáculo de Yahweh, assim como Yahweh lhe ordenara.
48Então os oficiais do exército, os comandantes de mil, e os capitães de cem, vieram a Moisés,
49e disseram-lhe: "Os teus servos contaram os soldados que estavam sob o nosso comando, e nenhum homem falta.
50Trouxemos a oferta para Yahweh, o que cada homem achou, artigos de ouro, pulseiras e braceletes, anéis, brincos e colares, para fazer expiação por nós diante de Yahweh".
51Moisés e o sacerdote Eleazar receberam deles o ouro e todos os artigos trabalhados.
52Todo o ouro da oferta que deram a Yahweh - as ofertas dos comandantes de mil e dos capitães de cem - pesava dezesseis mil setecentos e cinquenta siclos.
53Cada soldado tomou despojo, cada homem para si mesmo.
54Moisés e o sacerdote Eleazar tomou o ouro dos comandantes de mil e dos capitães de cem. Eles o levaram para a Tenda do Encontro, como memorial do povo de Israel para Yahweh.

1Y JEHOVÁ habló á Moisés, diciendo:
2Haz la venganza de los hijos de Israel sobre los Madianitas; después serás recogido á tus pueblos.
3Entonces Moisés habló al pueblo, diciendo: Armaos algunos de vosotros para la guerra, é irán contra Madián, y harán la venganza de Jehová en Madián.
4Mil de cada tribu de todas las tribus de los hijos de Israel, enviaréis á la guerra.
5Así fueron dados de los millares de Israel, mil por cada tribu, doce mil á punto de guerra.
6Y Moisés los envió á la guerra: mil de cada tribu envió: y Phinees, hijo de Eleazar sacerdote, fué á la guerra con los santos instrumentos, con las trompetas en su mano para tocar.
7Y pelearon contra Madián, como Jehová lo mandó á Moisés, y mataron á todo varón.
8Mataron también, entre los muertos de ellos, á los reyes de Madián: Evi, y Recem, y Zur, y Hur, y Reba, cinco reyes de Madián: á Balaam también, hijo de Beor, mataron á cuchillo.
9Y llevaron cautivas los hijos de Israel las mujeres de los Madianitas, y sus chiquitos y todas sus bestias, y todos sus ganados; y arrebataron toda su hacienda.
10Y abrasaron con fuego todas sus ciudades, aldeas y castillos.
11Y tomaron todo el despojo, y toda la presa, así de hombres como de bestias.
12Y trajeron á Moisés, y á Eleazar el sacerdote, y á la congregación de los hijos de Israel, los cautivos y la presa y los despojos, al campo en los llanos de Moab, que están junto al Jordán de Jericó.
13Y salieron Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote, y todos los príncipes de la congregación, á recibirlos fuera del campo.
14Y enojóse Moisés contra los capitanes del ejército, contra los tribunos y centuriones que volvían de la guerra;
15Y díjoles Moisés: ¿Todas las mujeres habéis reservado?
16He aquí ellas fueron á los hijos de Israel, por consejo de Balaam, para causar prevaricación contra Jehová en el negocio de Peor; por lo que hubo mortandad en la congregación de Jehová.
17Matad pues ahora todos los varones entre los niños: matad también toda mujer que haya conocido varón carnalmente.
18Y todas las niñas entre las mujeres, que no hayan conocido ayuntamiento de varón, os reservaréis vivas.
19Y vosotros quedaos fuera del campo siete días: y todos los que hubieren matado persona, y cualquiera que hubiere tocado muerto, os purificaréis al tercero y al séptimo día, vosotros y vuestros cautivos.
20Asimismo purificaréis todo vestido, y toda prenda de pieles, y toda obra de pelos de cabra, y todo vaso de madera.
21Y Eleazar el sacerdote dijo á los hombres de guerra que venían de la guerra: Esta es la ordenanza de la ley que Jehová ha mandado á Moisés:
22Ciertamente el oro, y la plata, metal, hierro, estaño, y plomo,
23Todo lo que resiste el fuego, por fuego lo haréis pasar, y será limpio, bien que en las aguas de purificación habrá de purificarse: mas haréis pasar por agua todo lo que no aguanta el fuego.
24Además lavaréis vuestros vestidos el séptimo día, y así seréis limpios; y después entraréis en el campo.
25Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:
26Toma la cuenta de la presa que se ha hecho, así de las personas como de las bestias, tú y el sacerdote Eleazar, y las cabezas de los padres de la congregación:
27Y partirás por mitad la presa entre los que pelearon, los que salieron á la guerra, y toda la congregación.
28Y apartarás para Jehová el tributo de los hombres de guerra, que salieron á la guerra: de quinientos uno, así de las personas como de los bueyes, de los asnos, y de las ovejas:
29De la mitad de ellos lo tomarás; y darás á Eleazar el sacerdote la ofrenda de Jehová.
30Y de la mitad perteneciente á los hijos de Israel tomarás uno de cincuenta, de las personas, de los bueyes, de los asnos, y de las ovejas, de todo animal; y los darás á los Levitas, que tienen la guarda del tabernáculo de Jehová.
31E hicieron Moisés y Eleazar el sacerdote como Jehová mandó á Moisés.
32Y fué la presa, el resto de la presa que tomaron los hombres de guerra, seiscientas y setenta y cinco mil ovejas,
33Y setenta y dos mil bueyes,
34Y setenta y un mil asnos;
35Y en cuanto á personas, de mujeres que no habían conocido ayuntamiento de varón, en todas treinta y dos mil.
36Y la mitad, la parte de los que habían salido á la guerra, fué el número de trescientas treinta y siete mil y quinientas ovejas.
37Y el tributo para Jehová de las ovejas, fué seiscientas setenta y cinco.
38Y de los bueyes, treinta y seis mil: y de ellos el tributo para Jehová, setenta y dos.
39Y de los asnos, treinta mil y quinientos: y de ellos el tributo para Jehová, setenta y uno.
40Y de las personas, diez y seis mil: y de ellas el tributo para Jehová, treinta y dos personas.
41Y dió Moisés el tributo, por elevada ofrenda á Jehová, á Eleazar el sacerdote, como Jehová lo mandó á Moisés.
42Y de la mitad para los hijos de Israel, que apartó Moisés de los hombres que habían ido á la guerra;
43(La mitad para la congregación fué: de las ovejas, trescientas treinta y siete mil y quinientas;
44Y de los bueyes, treinta y seis mil;
45Y de los asnos, treinta mil y quinientos;
46Y de las personas, diez y seis mil:)
47De la mitad, pues, para los hijos de Israel tomó Moisés uno de cada cincuenta, así de las personas como de los animales, y diólos á los Levitas, que tenían la guarda del tabernáculo de Jehová; como Jehová lo había mandado á Moisés.
48Y llegaron á Moisés los jefes de los millares de aquel ejército, los tribunos y centuriones;
49Y dijeron á Moisés: Tus siervos han tomado razón de los hombres de guerra que están en nuestro poder, y ninguno ha faltado de nosotros.
50Por lo cual hemos ofrecido á Jehová ofrenda, cada uno de lo que ha hallado, vasos de oro, brazaletes, manillas, anillos, zarcillos, y cadenas, para hacer expiación por nuestras almas delante de Jehová.
51Y Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar recibieron el oro de ellos, alhajas, todas elaboradas.
52Y todo el oro de la ofrenda que ofrecieron á Jehová de los tribunos y centuriones, fué diez y seis mil setecientos y cincuenta siclos.
53Los hombres del ejército habían pillado cada uno para sí.
54Recibieron, pues, Moisés y el sacerdote Eleazar, el oro de los tribunos y centuriones, y trajéronlo al tabernáculo del testimonio, por memoria de los hijos de Israel delante de Jehová.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.
3And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.
4Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
5So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.
7And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.
8And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
9And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.
10And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.
11And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.
12And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.
13And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.
14And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.
15And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
16Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
17Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.
20And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.
21And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;
22Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.
24And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
25And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
26Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
27And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:
28And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:
29Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.
30And of the children of Israel’s half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.
31And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
32And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,
33And threescore and twelve thousand beeves,
34And threescore and one thousand asses,
35And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.
36And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:
37And the LORD’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen.
38And the beeves were thirty and six thousand; of which the LORD’s tribute was threescore and twelve.

52And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.

54And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.

1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2“Avenge the children of Israel on the Midianites. Afterward you shall be gathered to your people.”
3Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for war, that they may go against Midian, to execute the LORD’s vengeance on Midian.
4You shall send one thousand out of every tribe, throughout all the tribes of Israel, to the war.”
5So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand from every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6Moses sent them, one thousand of every tribe, to the war with Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
7They fought against Midian, as the LORD commanded Moses. They killed every male.
8They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword.
9The children of Israel took the women of Midian captive with their little ones; and all their livestock, all their flocks, and all their goods, they took as plunder.
10All their cities in the places in which they lived, and all their encampments, they burned with fire.
11They took all the captives, and all the plunder, both of man and of animal.
12They brought the captives with the prey and the plunder, to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho.
13Moses and Eleazar the priest, with all the princes of the congregation, went out to meet them outside of the camp.
14Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
15Moses said to them, “Have you saved all the women alive?
16Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of the LORD.
17Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.
18But all the girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19“Encamp outside of the camp for seven days. Whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
20You shall purify every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.”
21Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who went to the battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded Moses.
22However the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23everything that may withstand the fire, you shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity. All that doesn’t withstand the fire you shall make to go through the water.
24You shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean. Afterward you shall come into the camp.”
25The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
26“Count the plunder that was taken, both of man and of animal, you, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the congregation;
27and divide the plunder into two parts: between the men skilled in war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
28Levy a tribute to the LORD of the men of war who went out to battle: one soul of five hundred; of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks.
29Take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for the LORD’s wave offering.
30Of the children of Israel’s half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the livestock, and give them to the Levites, who perform the duty of the LORD’s tabernacle.”
31Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
32Now the plunder, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred seventy-five thousand sheep,
33seventy-two thousand head of cattle,
34sixty-one thousand donkeys,
35and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him.
36The half, which was the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep;
37and the LORD’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred seventy-five.
38The cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which the LORD’s tribute was seventy-two.
39The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which the LORD’s tribute was sixty-one.
40The persons were sixteen thousand, of whom the LORD’s tribute was thirty-two persons.
41Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD’s wave offering, to Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.
42Of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided off from the men who fought
43(now the congregation’s half was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
44thirty-six thousand head of cattle,
45thirty thousand five hundred donkeys,
46and sixteen thousand persons),
47even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of animal, and gave them to the Levites, who performed the duty of the LORD’s tabernacle, as the LORD commanded Moses.
48The officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses.
49They said to Moses, “Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our command, and there lacks not one man of us.
50We have brought the LORD’s offering, what every man found: gold ornaments, armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before the LORD.”
51Moses and Eleazar the priest took their gold, even all worked jewels.
52All the gold of the wave offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred fifty shekels.
53The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.
54Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
