Dann sprach Bileam zu Balak: Bleibe du bei deinem Brandopfer stehen; ich aber will hingehen, ob mir vielleicht der Herr begegnet, und was er mich schauen lässt, das will ich dir kundtun. Und er ging, um den Herrn zu befragen.
Y Balaam dijo á Balac: Ponte junto á tu holocausto, y yo iré: quizá Jehová me vendrá al encuentro, y cualquiera cosa que me mostrare, te la noticiaré. Y así se fué solo.
And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.
Balaam said to Balak, “Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet me. Whatever he shows me I will tell you.” He went to a bare height.
Und Gott begegnete dem Bileam. Und er sprach zu ihm: Die sieben Altäre habe ich errichtet und auf jedem Altar einen Stier und einen Widder geopfert.

And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.

Der Herr aber legte Bileam ein Wort in den Mund und sprach: Gehe zu Balak zurück und sprich so und so.

Da hob er an seinen Spruch und sprach: Aus Aram liess Balak mich holen, / der König Moabs aus den Bergen des Ostens: / "Komm, verfluche mir Jakob, / komm, verwünsche Israel!" /
Y él tomó su parábola, y dijo: De Aram me trajo Balac, rey de Moab, de los montes del oriente: ven, maldíceme á Jacob; y ven, execra á Israel.
And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.

Wie sollte ich fluchen, wem Gott nicht flucht? / wie sollte ich verwünschen, wen der Herr nicht verwünscht? /
¿Por qué maldeciré yo al que Dios no maldijo? ¿y por qué he de execrar al que Jehová no ha execrado?
How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?
How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? How shall I defy whom the LORD has not defied?
Denn von der Höhe der Felsen sehe ich es, / erschaue es von den Hügeln: / Siehe, ein Volk, das abseits wohnt, / das sich nicht rechnet unter die Heiden. /
Porque de la cumbre de las peñas lo veré, y desde los collados lo miraré: he aquí un pueblo que habitará confiado, y no será contado entre las gentes.

Da sprach Balak zu Bileam: Was hast du mir angetan! Meinen Feinden zu fluchen, liess ich dich holen, und siehe, du hast ja gesegnet!
Entonces Balac dijo á Balaam: ¿Qué me has hecho? hete tomado para que maldigas á mis enemigos, y he aquí has proferido bendiciones.
And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.
Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have blessed them altogether.”
Er antwortete und sprach: Muss ich nicht darauf achten, zu reden, was mir der Herr in den Mund legt?
Y él respondió, y dijo: ¿No observaré yo lo que Jehová pusiere en mi boca para decirlo?
And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?

Da sprach Balak zu ihm: Komm mit mir an einen andern Ort, von wo du das Volk sehen kannst; du siehst (hier) nur den äussersten Teil und siehst nicht das ganze. Von dort aus verfluche es mir!
Y dijo Balac: Ruégote que vengas conmigo á otro lugar desde el cual lo veas; su extremidad solamente verás, que no lo verás todo; y desde allí me lo maldecirás.
And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.
Balak said to him, “Please come with me to another place, where you may see them. You shall see just part of them, and shall not see them all. Curse them from there for me.”
Und er nahm ihn mit sich auf das Späherfeld, auf den Gipfel des Pisga. Hier baute er sieben Altäre und opferte auf jedem Altar einen Stier und einen Widder:

Und Bileam sprach zu Balak: Bleibe du hier bei deinem Brandopfer stehen, ich aber will dorthin (dem Herrn) entgegengehen.

And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the Lord yonder.

He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

Gott, der sie aus Ägypten geführt, / ist ihnen (Waffe) wie die Hörner dem Wildstier. /

Da sprach Balak zu Bileam: Kannst du es nicht verfluchen, so segne es doch nicht!
Entonces Balac dijo á Balaam: Ya que no lo maldices, ni tampoco lo bendigas.
And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.
Balak said to Balaam, “Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.”
Bileam aber antwortete und sprach zu Balak: Habe ich dir nicht gesagt: "Alles, was der Herr reden wird, das werde ich tun?"
Y Balaam respondió, y dijo á Balac: ¿No te he dicho que todo lo que Jehová me dijere, aquello tengo de hacer?
But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?
But Balaam answered Balak, “Didn’t I tell you, saying, ‘All that the LORD speaks, that I must do’?”
Da sprach Balak zu Bileam: Komm, ich will dich an einen andern Ort führen; vielleicht gefällt es Gott, dass du es mir von dort aus verfluchest.
Y dijo Balac á Balaam: Ruégote que vengas, te llevaré á otro lugar; por ventura parecerá bien á Dios que desde allí me lo maldigas.
And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.
Balak said to Balaam, “Come now, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there.”
Und Balak nahm Bileam mit sich auf den Gipfel des Peor, der nach der Wüste schaut.
