ALS nun der Kanaaniter, der König von Arad, der im Südland wohnte, erfuhr, dass Israel auf dem Wege von Atharim heranrücke, griff er Israel an und nahm ihnen Gefangene ab.

Y OYENDO el Cananeo, el rey de Arad, el cual habitaba al mediodía, que venía Israel por el camino de los centinelas, peleó con Israel, y tomó de él presa.

And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.

Da tat Israel dem Herrn ein Gelübde und sprach: Wenn du dieses Volk in meine Hand gibst, so will ich an ihren Städten den Bann vollstrecken.

Entonces Israel hizo voto á Jehová, y dijo: Si en efecto entregares á este pueblo en mi mano, yo destruiré sus ciudades.

And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.

Dann zogen sie vom Berge Hor weiter auf dem Wege nach dem Schilfmeer, um das Land Edom zu umgehen. Unterwegs aber wurde das Volk ungeduldig.

Y partieron del monte de Hor, camino del mar Bermejo, para rodear la tierra de Edom; y abatióse el ánimo del pueblo por el camino.

And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

Und das Volk redete wider Gott und Mose: Warum habt ihr uns aus Ägypten heraufgeführt, damit wir in der Wüste sterben? Denn hier gibt es weder Brot noch Wasser, und uns ekelt ob dieser elenden Speise.

Y habló el pueblo contra Dios y Moisés: ¿Por qué nos hiciste subir de Egipto para que muramos en este desierto? que ni hay pan, ni agua, y nuestra alma tiene fastidio de este pan tan liviano.

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!”

Da sandte der Herr die Schlangen, die Saraphe, wider das Volk; die bissen die Leute, und es starb viel Volk in Israel.

Y Jehová envió entre el pueblo serpientes ardientes, que mordían al pueblo: y murió mucho pueblo de Israel.

And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Da kamen die Leute zu Mose und sprachen: Wir haben gesündigt, dass wir wider den Herrn und dich geredet haben. Bitte den Herrn, dass er die Schlangen von uns nehme. Und Mose bat für das Volk.

Entonces el pueblo vino á Moisés, y dijeron: Pecado hemos por haber hablado contra Jehová, y contra ti: ruega á Jehová que quite de nosotros estas serpientes. Y Moisés oró por el pueblo.

Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

The people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD and against you. Pray to the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us.” Moses prayed for the people.

Der Herr aber sprach zu Mose: Mache dir einen Saraph und stecke ihn auf eine Stange. Dann wird jeder Gebissene, der ihn anschaut, am Leben bleiben.

Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Hazte una serpiente ardiente, y ponla sobre la bandera: y será que cualquiera que fuere mordido y mirare á ella, vivirá.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

The LORD said to Moses, “Make a venomous snake, and set it on a pole. It shall happen that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.”

Da machte Mose eine eherne Schlange und steckte sie auf die Stange; wenn nun die Schlangen einen bissen, und er schaute dann die eherne Schlange an, so blieb er am Leben. (a) 2Kön 18:4; Joh 3:14

Dann zogen die Israeliten weiter und lagerten sich in Oboth.

und den Hang der Täler, / der sich hinzieht nach dem Wohnsitz von Ar / und sich lehnt an die Grenze von Moab."

Y á la corriente de los arroyos que va á parar en Ar, y descansa en el término de Moab.

And at the stream of the brooks that goeth down to the dwelling of Ar, and lieth upon the border of Moab.

the slope of the valleys that incline toward the dwelling of Ar, leans on the border of Moab.”

Von dort (zogen sie) nach Beer; das ist der Brunnen, von dem der Herr zu Mose sagte: Versammle das Volk, ich will ihnen Wasser geben. (1) d.i. Brunnen.

Y de allí vinieron á Beer: este es el pozo del cual Jehová dijo á Moisés: Junta el pueblo, y les daré agua.

And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORD spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.

dem Brunnen, den Fürsten gruben, / den die Edlen des Volkes bohrten / mit dem Szepter, mit ihren Stäben. Und von Beer (zogen sie) nach Matthana,

Pozo, el cual cavaron los señores; caváronlo los príncipes del pueblo, y el legislador, con sus bordones. Y del desierto vinieron á Mathana:

The princes digged the well, the nobles of the people digged it, by the direction of the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:

the well, which the princes dug, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter, and with their poles.” From the wilderness they traveled to Mattanah;

und von Matthana nach Nahaliel, und von Nahaliel nach Bamoth,

und von Bamoth in das Tal, das im Gefilde Moabs liegt, gegen den Gipfel des Pisga hin, der nach der Wüste schaut.

Y de Bamoth al valle que está en los campos de Moab, y á la cumbre de Pisga, que mira á Jesimón.

And from Bamoth in the valley, that is in the country of Moab, to the top of Pisgah, which looketh toward Jeshimon.

Und Israel sandte Boten an Sihon, den König der Amoriter, und liess ihm sagen: (a) 5Mo 2:26

Y envió Israel embajadores á Sehón, rey de los Amorrheos, diciendo:

Ich möchte durch dein Land ziehen! Wir wollen nicht in Äcker noch in Weinberge abbiegen, auch kein Wasser aus den Brunnen trinken; wir wollen die Königsstrasse ziehen, bis wir dein Gebiet durchzogen haben.

Pasaré por tu tierra: no nos apartaremos por los labrados, ni por las viñas; no beberemos las aguas de los pozos: por el camino real iremos, hasta que pasemos tu término.

Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king’s high way, until we be past thy borders.

“Let me pass through your land. We will not turn away into field or vineyard. We will not drink of the water of the wells. We will go by the king’s highway, until we have passed your border.”

Aber Sihon liess Israel nicht durch sein Gebiet ziehen, sondern versammelte sein ganzes Volk und zog Israel entgegen in die Wüste. Und als er nach Jahaz kam, stritt er wider Israel.

Mas Sehón no dejó pasar á Israel por su término: antes juntó Sehón todo su pueblo, y salió contra Israel en el desierto: y vino á Jahaz, y peleó contra Israel.

And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

Israel aber schlug ihn mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und besetzte sein Land vom Arnon bis zum Jabbok, bis zu den Ammonitern; denn Jaeser war die Grenze der Ammoniter.

And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.

Porque Hesbón era la ciudad de Sehón, rey de los Amorrheos; el cual había tenido guerra antes con el rey de Moab, y tomado de su poder toda su tierra hasta Arnón.

For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.

denn Feuer ging einst aus von Hesbon, / eine Flamme von Sihons Stadt, / die verzehrte die Städte von Moab, / verschlang die Höhen am Arnon. / (a) Jer 48:45

Que fuego salió de Hesbón, y llama de la ciudad de Sehón, y consumió á Ar de Moab, á los señores de los altos de Arnón.

For there is a fire gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon: it hath consumed Ar of Moab, and the lords of the high places of Arnon.

¡Ay de ti, Moab! Perecido has, pueblo de Chêmos: puso sus hijos en huída, y sus hijas en cautividad, por Sehón rey de los Amorrheos.

Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, O people of Chemosh: he hath given his sons that escaped, and his daughters, into captivity unto Sihon king of the Amorites.

Nun haben wir Moab beschossen / von Hesbon an bis Dibon; / wir haben Feuer gelegt bis Nophah / und bis nach Medeba.

Also liess sich Israel im Lande der Amoriter nieder.

Und Mose sandte (Leute) aus, um Jaeser auszukundschaften; dann nahmen sie es samt seinen Nebenorten ein und vertrieben die Amoriter, die dort wohnten.

Y envió Moisés á reconocer á Jazer; y tomaron sus aldeas, y echaron al Amorrheo que estaba allí.

And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took the villages thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there.

Aber der Herr sprach zu Mose: Fürchte dich nicht vor ihm; denn ich gebe ihn mit Land und Leuten in deine Hand, und du magst mit ihm tun, wie du mit Sihon, dem König der Amoriter, getan hast, der zu Hesbon sass.

Entonces Jehová dijo á Moisés: No le tengas miedo, que en tu mano lo he dado, á él y á todo su pueblo, y á su tierra; y harás de él como hiciste de Sehón, rey de los Amorrheos, que habitaba en Hesbón.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

The LORD said to Moses, “Don’t fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, with all his people, and his land. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”

Und sie schlugen ihn und seine Söhne und sein ganzes Volk, dass keiner entrann und übrigblieb, und nahmen sein Land in Besitz.

So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him alive: and they possessed his land.
