1Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et Aaron en ces termes :
2Voici le texte de la loi que l'Éternel a prescrite en disant : Dis aux enfants d'Israël de t'amener une génisse rouge qui soit sans défaut et sans tache et n'ait pas subi le joug,
3et donnez-la au Prêtre Eléazar, et qu'on la mène hors du camp et qu'on l'abatte devant lui.
4Puis, que le Prêtre Eléazar prenne de son sang avec le doigt, et que sept fois il fasse aspersion de ce sang contre la façade de la Tente du Rendez-vous.
5Et que la génisse soit brûlée sous ses yeux ; sa peau et sa chair et son sang ainsi que sa fiente devront être brûlés.
6Et le Prêtre prendra du bois de cèdre, de l'hysope et du vermillon qu'il jettera dans le feu où la génisse brûle.
7Alors le Prêtre lavera ses vêtements et baignera son corps dans l'eau, et ensuite il rentrera au camp ; et le Prêtre sera jusqu'au soir en état d'impureté.
8Et celui qui la brûlera, lavera ses habits dans l'eau, et baignera son corps dans l'eau et il sera jusqu'au soir en état d'impureté.
9Et un homme pur recueillera la cendre de la génisse et la déposera hors du camp en lieu pur où elle sera conservée pour l'Assemblée des enfants d'Israël, pour servir à l'eau de purification ; c'est une victime expiatoire.
10Et celui qui aura recueilli la cendre de la génisse, lavera ses vêtements et sera jusqu'au soir en état d'impureté.
11Règle perpétuelle pour les enfants d'Israël et pour l'étranger séjournant chez eux : Qui touchera un mort, un cadavre humain quelconque sera sept jours en état d'impureté ;
12et le troisième et le septième jour il fera son expiation avec cette eau ; ainsi il se trouvera pur ; s'il ne fait pas son expiation le troisième et le septième jour, il ne sera pas en état de pureté.
13Quiconque touche un mort, le cadavre d'un homme qui est mort, et ne fait pas son expiation, souille la demeure de l'Éternel, et cette personne-là sera retranchée d'Israël ; car l'eau de purification n'a pas été répandue sur elle, elle reste en état d'impureté et porte encore sa souillure.
14Voici la loi : Lorsqu'un homme meurt dans une tente, toute personne entrant dans la tente ou s'y trouvant, tombe pour sept jours en état d'impureté.
15Tout vase ouvert et sans couvercle attaché, contracte impureté.
16Et quiconque en plein champ touche le cadavre d'un homme tué par l'épée, ou d'un mort, ou des ossements humains ou un tombeau, sera pour sept jours en état d'impureté.
17Que l'on prenne alors pour purifier l'individu ainsi souillé, de la cendre du bûcher de la victime expiatoire et que l'on verse dessus de l'eau vive dans un vase.
18Et qu'un homme en état de pureté prenne de l'hysope et la plonge dans l'eau et fasse une aspersion contre la tente et contre tous les vases et contre les personnes qui y sont et contre celui qui aura touché des ossements, ou un homme tué, ou un mort, ou un tombeau.
19Et celui qui est en état de pureté aspergera celui qui est en état d'impureté, le troisième jour et le septième, et fera pour lui l'expiation le septième jour et lavera ses vêtements, et se baignera dans l'eau, et le soir il sera pur.
20Et l'homme qui aura contracté une impureté et ne fera pas son expiation, sera retranché du milieu de l'Assemblée, car il souillerait le Sanctuaire de l'Éternel ; l'eau de purification n'ayant pas été répandue sur lui, il est en état d'impureté.
21Que ce soit là pour vous une règle perpétuelle. Et celui qui fait l'aspersion avec de l'eau de purification, lavera ses vêtements, et celui qui touchera l'eau de purification sera jusqu'au soir en état d'impureté.
22Et tout ce que touchera l'impur, se trouvera impur, et la personne qui le touchera sera jusqu'au soir en état d'impureté.

1Y JEHOVÁ habló á Moisés y á Aarón, diciendo:
2Esta es la ordenanza de la ley que Jehová ha prescrito, diciendo: Di á los hijos de Israel que te traigan una vaca bermeja, perfecta, en la cual no haya falta, sobre la cual no se haya puesto yugo:
3Y la daréis á Eleazar el sacerdote, y él la sacará fuera del campo, y harála degollar en su presencia.
4Y tomará Eleazar el sacerdote de su sangre con su dedo, y rociará hacia la delantera del tabernáculo del testimonio con la sangre de ella siete veces;
5Y hará quemar la vaca ante sus ojos: su cuero y su carne y su sangre, con su estiércol, hará quemar.
6Luego tomará el sacerdote palo de cedro, é hisopo, y escarlata, y lo echará en medio del fuego en que arde la vaca.
7El sacerdote lavará luego sus vestidos, lavará también su carne con agua, y después entrará en el real; y será inmundo el sacerdote hasta la tarde.
8Asimismo el que la quemó, lavará sus vestidos en agua, también lavará en agua su carne, y será inmundo hasta la tarde.
9Y un hombre limpio recogerá las cenizas de la vaca, y las pondrá fuera del campo en lugar limpio, y las guardará la congregación de los hijos de Israel para el agua de separación: es una expiación.
10Y el que recogió las cenizas de la vaca, lavará sus vestidos, y será inmundo hasta la tarde: y será á los hijos de Israel, y al extranjero que peregrina entre ellos, por estatuto perpetuo.
11El que tocare muerto de cualquiera persona humana, siete días será inmundo:
12Este se purificará al tercer día con aquesta agua, y al séptimo día será limpio; y si al tercer día no se purificare, no será limpio al séptimo día.
13Cualquiera que tocare en muerto, en persona de hombre que estuviere muerto, y no se purificare, el tabernáculo de Jehová contaminó; y aquella persona será cortada de Israel: por cuanto el agua de la separación no fué rociada sobre él, inmundo será; y su inmundicia será sobre él.
14Esta es la ley para cuando alguno muriere en la tienda: cualquiera que entrare en la tienda y todo el que estuviere en ella, será inmundo siete días.
15Y todo vaso abierto, sobre el cual no hubiere tapadera bien ajustada, será inmundo.
16Y cualquiera que tocare en muerto á cuchillo sobre la haz del campo, ó en muerto, ó en hueso humano, ó en sepulcro, siete días será inmundo.
17Y para el inmundo tomarán de la ceniza de la quemada vaca de la expiación, y echarán sobre ella agua viva en un vaso:
18Y un hombre limpio tomará hisopo, y mojarálo en el agua, y rociará sobre la tienda, y sobre todos los muebles, y sobre las personas que allí estuvieren, y sobre aquel que hubiere tocado el hueso, ó el matado, ó el muerto, ó el sepulcro:
19Y el limpio rociará sobre el inmundo al tercero y al séptimo día: y cuando lo habrá purificado al día séptimo, él lavará luego sus vestidos, y á sí mismo se lavará con agua, y será limpio á la tarde.
20Y el que fuere inmundo, y no se purificare, la tal persona será cortada de entre la congregación, por cuanto contaminó el tabernáculo de Jehová: no fué rociada sobre él el agua de separación: es inmundo.
21Y les será por estatuto perpetuo: también el que rociare el agua de la separación lavará sus vestidos; y el que tocare el agua de la separación, será inmundo hasta la tarde.
22Y todo lo que el inmundo tocare, será inmundo: y la persona que lo tocare, será inmunda hasta la tarde.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
2This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
3And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:
4And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:
5And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:
6And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
7Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.
8And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.
9And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.
10And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.
11He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
12He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
13Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
14This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
15And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.
16And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
17And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:
18And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:
19And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.
20But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
21And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.
22And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.

1The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
2“This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded. Tell the children of Israel to bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no defect, and which was never yoked.
3You shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face.
4Eleazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times.
5One shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her meat, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn.
6The priest shall take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the middle of the burning of the heifer.
7Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the evening.
8He who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.
9“A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for use in water for cleansing impurity. It is a sin offering.
10He who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. It shall be to the children of Israel, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them, for a statute forever.
11“He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
12He shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean; but if he doesn’t purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
13Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn’t purify himself, defiles the LORD’s tabernacle; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is yet on him.
14“This is the law when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
15Every open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean.

19The clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day. On the seventh day, he shall purify him. He shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at evening.
20But the man who shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the assembly, because he has defiled the sanctuary of the LORD. The water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him. He is unclean.
21It shall be a perpetual statute to them. He who sprinkles the water for impurity shall wash his clothes, and he who touches the water for impurity shall be unclean until evening.
22“Whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the soul that touches it shall be unclean until evening.”
