1Après cela l’Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant :
2Parle aux enfants d’Israël, et prends une verge de chacun d’eux selon la maison de leur père, de tous ceux qui sont les principaux d’entr’eux selon la maison de leurs pères, douze verges, puis tu écriras le nom de chacun sur sa verge.
3Mais tu écriras le nom d’Aaron sur la verge de Lévi ; car il y aura une verge pour chaque chef de la maison de leurs pères.
4Et tu les poseras au Tabernacle d’assignation devant le Témoignage, où j’ai accoutumé de me trouver avec vous.
5Et il arrivera que la verge de l’homme que j’aurai choisi, fleurira ; et je ferai cesser de devant moi les murmures des enfants d’Israël, par lesquels ils murmurent contre vous.
6Quand Moïse eut parlé aux enfants d’Israël, tous les principaux d’entr’eux lui donnèrent selon la maison de leurs pères, chacun une verge. Ainsi il y eut douze verges. Or la verge d’Aaron fut mise parmi leurs verges.
7Et Moïse mit les verges devant l’Eternel au Tabernacle du Témoignage.
8Et il arriva dès le lendemain, que Moïse étant entré au Tabernacle du Témoignage, voici, la verge d’Aaron avait fleuri pour la maison de Lévi, et elle avait jeté des fleurs, produit des boutons, et mûri des amandes.
9Alors Moïse tira hors de devant l’Eternel toutes les verges, et les porta à tous les enfants d’Israël, et les ayant vues, ils reprirent chacun leurs verges.
10Et l’Eternel dit à Moïse : Reporte la verge d’Aaron devant le Témoignage, pour être gardée comme un signe aux enfants de rébellion ; et tu feras cesser leurs murmures de devant moi, et ainsi ils ne mourront plus.
11Et Moïse fit comme l’Eternel lui avait commandé ; il fit ainsi.
12Et les enfants d’Israël parlèrent à Moïse, en disant : Voici, nous défaillons, nous sommes perdus, nous sommes tous perdus.
13Quiconque s’approche du pavillon de l’Eternel, mourra ; serons-nous tous entièrement consumés ?

1Y HABLÓ Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:
2Habla á los hijos de Israel, y toma de ellos una vara por cada casa de los padres, de todos los príncipes de ellos, doce varas conforme á las casas de sus padres; y escribirás el nombre de cada uno sobre su vara.
3Y escribirás el nombre de Aarón sobre la vara de Leví; porque cada cabeza de familia de sus padres tendrá una vara.
4Y las pondrás en el tabernáculo del testimonio delante del testimonio, donde yo me declararé á vosotros.
5Y será, que el varón que yo escogiere, su vara florecerá: y haré cesar de sobre mí las quejas de los hijos de Israel, con que murmuran contra vosotros.
6Y Moisés habló á los hijos de Israel, y todos los príncipes de ellos le dieron varas; cada príncipe por las casas de sus padres una vara, en todas doce varas; y la vara de Aarón estaba entre las varas de ellos.
7Y Moisés puso las varas delante de Jehová en el tabernáculo del testimonio.
8Y aconteció que el día siguiente vino Moisés al tabernáculo del testimonio; y he aquí que la vara de Aarón de la casa de Leví había brotado, y echado flores, y arrojado renuevos, y producido almendras.
9Entonces sacó Moisés todas las varas de delante de Jehová á todos los hijos de Israel; y ellos lo vieron, y tomaron cada uno su vara.
10Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Vuelve la vara de Aarón delante del testimonio, para que se guarde por señal á los hijos rebeldes; y harás cesar sus quejas de sobre mí, porque no mueran.
11E hízolo Moisés: como le mandó Jehová, así hizo.
12Entonces los hijos de Israel hablaron á Moisés, diciendo: He aquí nosotros somos muertos, perdidos somos, todos nosotros somos perdidos.
13Cualquiera que se llegare, el que se acercare al tabernáculo de Jehová morirá: ¿acabaremos de perecer todos?
King James Version
1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod.
3And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.
4And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.
5And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.
6And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.
7And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of witness.
8And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
9And Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.
10And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.
11And Moses did so: as the LORD commanded him, so did he.
12And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish.
13Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?
World English Bible
1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2“Speak to the children of Israel, and take rods from them, one for each fathers’ house, of all their princes according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods. Write each man’s name on his rod.
3You shall write Aaron’s name on Levi’s rod. There shall be one rod for each head of their fathers’ houses.
4You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the covenant, where I meet with you.
5It shall happen that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud. I will make the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you, cease from me.”
6Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, a total of twelve rods. Aaron’s rod was among their rods.
7Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the Tent of the Testimony.
8On the next day, Moses went into the Tent of the Testimony; and behold, Aaron’s rod for the house of Levi had sprouted, budded, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds.
9Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD to all the children of Israel. They looked, and each man took his rod.
10The LORD said to Moses, “Put back the rod of Aaron before the covenant, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their complaining against me, that they not die.”
11Moses did so. As the LORD commanded him, so he did.
12The children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, “Behold, we perish! We are undone! We are all undone!
13Everyone who keeps approaching the LORD’s tabernacle, dies! Will we all perish?”
