Números 16

Coré, hijo de Izhaer, hijo de Coat, hijo de Leví, junto a Datán y Abiram, hijos de Eliab, y On, hijo de Pelet, descendientes de Rubén, reunieron algunos hombres.

Y CORÉ, hijo de Ishar, hijo de Coath, hijo de Leví; y Dathán y Abiram, hijos de Eliab; y Hon, hijo de Peleth, de los hijos de Rubén, tomaron gente,

Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:

Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took some men.

Se levantaron en contra de Moisés, junto con otros hombres del pueblo de Israel, doscientos cincuenta jefes de la comunidad, que eran muy conocidos en la comunidad.

Y levantáronse contra Moisés con doscientos y cincuenta varones de los hijos de Israel, príncipes de la congregación, de los del consejo, varones de nombre;

And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:

They rose up before Moses, with some of the children of Israel, two hundred fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown.

Se reunieron en asamblea juntos para confrontar a Moisés y Aarón. Les dijeron: "¡Ustedes han ido muy lejos! Toda la comunidad está separada para EL SEÑOR, cada uno de ellos, y EL SEÑOR está entre ellos. ¿Por qué ustedes se levantan por encima del resto de la comunidad del SEÑOR?

Y se juntaron contra Moisés y Aarón, y les dijeron: Básteos, porque toda la congregación, todos ellos son santos, y en medio de ellos está Jehová: ¿por qué, pues, os levantáis vosotros sobre la congregación de Jehová?

And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, “You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and the LORD is among them! Why do you lift yourselves up above the LORD’s assembly?”

Cuando Moisés escuchó eso, se acostó, rostro en tierra.

Y como lo oyó Moisés, echóse sobre su rostro;

And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:

When Moses heard it, he fell on his face.

Habló a Coré y a todos los que estaban con él: "En la mañana EL SEÑOR dará a conocer quién le pertenece a Él y quién está separado de Él. Él traerá a esa persona cerca de Él. Al que Él escoja, Él lo atraerá cerca de Sí mismo.

Y habló á Coré y á todo su séquito, diciendo: Mañana mostrará Jehová quién es suyo, y al santo harálo llegar á sí; y al que él escogiere, él lo allegará á sí.

And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.

He said to Korah and to all his company, “In the morning, the LORD will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near to him. Even him whom he shall choose, he will cause to come near to him.

Haz esto, Coré y todo tu grupo. Toma incensarios

Haced esto: tomaos incensarios, Coré y todo su séquito:

This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;

Do this: have Korah and all his company take censers,

mañana y coloca fuego y pon incienso en ellos ante EL SEÑOR. El que EL SEÑOR escoja, ese hombre será apartado para EL SEÑOR. Ustedes han ido muy lejos, ustedes descendientes de Leví."

Y poned fuego en ellos, y poned en ellos sahumerio delante de Jehová mañana; y será que el varón á quien Jehová escogiere, aquél será el santo: básteos esto, hijos de Leví.

And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD to morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.

put fire in them, and put incense on them before the LORD tomorrow. It shall be that the man whom the LORD chooses, he shall be holy. You have gone too far, you sons of Levi!”

Otra vez, Moisés dijo a Coré: "Ahora escuchen, descendientes de Leví:

Dijo más Moisés á Coré: Oid ahora, hijos de Leví:

And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi:

Moses said to Korah, “Hear now, you sons of Levi!

¿es para ustedes cosa pequeña que el Dios de Israel los haya separado de la comunidad de Israel, para atraerlos cerca de Él, para hacer trabajo en la tienda reunión del SEÑOR, y para estar en pie ante la comunidad para servirles?

¿Os es poco que el Dios de Israel os haya apartado de la congregación de Israel, haciéndoos allegar á sí para que ministraseis en el servicio del tabernáculo de Jehová, y estuvieseis delante de la congregación para ministrarles?

Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?

Is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself, to do the service of the LORD’s tabernacle, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them;

Él te ha traído cerca, y todos tus hermanos, los descendientes de Leví, contigo, ¡aún así estás buscando el sacerdocio también!

¿Y que te hizo acercar á ti, y á todos tus hermanos los hijos de Leví contigo; para que procuréis también el sacerdocio?

And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?

and that he has brought you near, and all your brothers the sons of Levi with you? Do you seek the priesthood also?

Eso es porque tú y todo tu grupo se ha reunido en contra del SEÑOR. ¿Así que por qué te estás quejando de Aarón, quien obedece al SEÑOR?"

Por tanto, tú y todo tu séquito sois los que os juntáis contra Jehová: pues Aarón, ¿qué es para que contra él murmuréis?

For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD: and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him?

Therefore you and all your company have gathered together against the LORD! What is Aaron that you complain against him?”

Entonces Moisés llamó a Datán y Abiram, los hijos de Eliab, pero ellos dijeron: "Nosotros no iremos.

Y envió Moisés á llamar á Dathán y Abiram, hijos de Eliab; mas ellos respondieron: No iremos allá:

And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:

Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; and they said, “We won’t come up!

¿Es una cosa pequeña que tú nos hayas sacado de una tierra que fluye leche y miel, para matarnos en el desierto? ¡Ahora quieres hacerte gobernante sobre nosotros!

¿Es poco que nos hayas hecho venir de una tierra que destila leche y miel, para hacernos morir en el desierto, sino que también te enseñorees de nosotros imperiosamente?

Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?

Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but you must also make yourself a prince over us?

Ademas, tú no nos has traído a una tierra que fluye leche y miel, ni nos has dado campos y viñas como herencia. ¿Ahora quieres cegarnos con promesas vacías? Nosotros no iremos a ti."

Ni tampoco nos has metido tú en tierra que fluya leche y miel, ni nos has dado heredades de tierras y viñas: ¿has de arrancar los ojos de estos hombres? No subiremos.

Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.

Moreover you haven’t brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? We won’t come up.”

Moisés estaba muy enojado y le dijo al SEÑOR: "No respetes su ofrenda. No he tomado un asno de ellos, y no he dañado a ninguno de ellos."

Entonces Moisés se enojó en gran manera, y dijo á Jehová: No mires á su presente: ni aun un asno he tomado de ellos, ni á ninguno de ellos he hecho mal.

And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the LORD, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.

Moses was very angry, and said to the LORD, “Don’t respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, neither have I hurt one of them.”

Entonces Moisés le dijo a Coré: "Mañana tú y tu companía debe ir ante EL SEÑOR-- tú y ellos, y Aarón.

Después dijo Moisés á Coré: Tú y todo tu séquito, poneos mañana delante de Jehová; tú, y ellos, y Aarón:

And Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy company before the LORD, thou, and they, and Aaron, to morrow:

Moses said to Korah, “You and all your company go before the LORD, you, and they, and Aaron, tomorrow.

Cada uno de ustedes debe tomar su incesario y colocar incienso en él. Entonces cada hombre debe traer ante EL SEÑOR su incensario, doscientos cincuenta incensarios. Tú y Aarón, también, debe cada uno traer su insensario."

Y tomad cada uno su incensario, y poned sahumerio en ellos, y allegad delante de Jehová cada uno su incensario: doscientos y cincuenta incensarios: tú también, y Aarón, cada uno con su incensario.

And take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye before the LORD every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aaron, each of you his censer.

Each man take his censer and put incense on it, and each man bring before the LORD his censer, two hundred fifty censers; you also, and Aaron, each with his censer.”

Así que cada hombre tomó su incensario, colocó fuego en él, y puso incienso en él, y se detuvieron a la entrada de la tienda de reunión con Moisés y Aarón.

Y tomaron cada uno su incensario, y pusieron en ellos fuego, y echaron en ellos sahumerio, y pusiéronse á la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio con Moisés y Aarón.

And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron.

They each took his censer, and put fire in it, and laid incense on it, and stood at the door of the Tent of Meeting with Moses and Aaron.

Coré reunió toda la comunidad en contra de Moisés y Aarón a la entrada de la tienda de reunión, y la gloria del SEÑOR apareció a toda la comunidad.

Ya Coré había hecho juntar contra ellos toda la congregación á la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio: entonces la gloria de Jehová apareció á toda la congregación.

And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.

Korah assembled all the congregation opposite them to the door of the Tent of Meeting. The LORD’s glory appeared to all the congregation.

Entonces EL SEÑOR le habló a Moisés y a Aarón:

Y Jehová habló á Moisés y á Aarón, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

"Sepárense ustedes de entre esta comunidad para que Yo los consuma a ellos inmediatamente."

Apartaos de entre esta congregación, y consumirlos he en un momento.

Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.

“Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!”

Moisés y Aarón se acostaron boca abajo y dijeron: "Dios, Dios de los espíritus de toda la humanidad, si un hombre peca, ¿debes Tú estar enojado con toda la comunidad?"

Y ellos se echaron sobre sus rostros, y dijeron: Dios, Dios de los espíritus de toda carne, ¿no es un hombre el que pecó? ¿y airarte has tú contra toda la congregación?

And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?

They fell on their faces, and said, “God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?”

El SEÑOR respondió a Moisés. Y Él dijo:

Entonces Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

"Habla a la comunidad. Diles: 'Aléjense de la tienda de Coré, Datán y Abiram.'"

Habla á la congregación, diciendo: Apartaos de en derredor de la tienda de Coré, Dathán, y Abiram.

Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.

“Speak to the congregation, saying, ‘Get away from around the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram!’”

Entonces Moisés se levantó y fue a Datán y Abiram; los ancianos de Israel lo siguieron.

Y Moisés se levantó, y fué á Dathán y á Abiram; y los ancianos de Israel fueron en pos de él.

And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.

Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.

Él habló a la comunidad y dijo: "Ahora dejen las tiendas de estos hombres malvados y no toquen nada de ellos, o ustedes serán consumidos por todos sus pecados."

Y él habló á la congregación, diciendo: Apartaos ahora de las tiendas de estos impíos hombres, y no toquéis ninguna cosa suya, por que no perezcáis en todos sus pecados.

And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.

He spoke to the congregation, saying, “Depart, please, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins!”

Así que la comunidad de todos los lados de las tiendas de Coré, Datán y Abiram los dejaron. Datán y Abiram salieron y se detuvieron a la entrada de sus tiendas, con sus esposas, hijos y sus pequeños.

Y apartáronse de las tiendas de Coré, de Dathán, y de Abiram en derredor: y Dathán y Abiram salieron y pusiéronse á las puertas de sus tiendas, con sus mujeres, y sus hijos, y sus chiquitos.

So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.

So they went away from the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side. Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents with their wives, their sons, and their little ones.

Entonces Moisés dijo: "De esta manera ustedes sabrán que EL SEÑOR me ha enviado a hacer todos estos trabajos, por cuanto no los he hecho por mi propia cuenta.

Y dijo Moisés: En esto conoceréis que Jehová me ha enviado para que hiciese todas estas cosas; que no de mi corazón las hice.

And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.

Moses said, “Hereby you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works; for they are not from my own mind.

Si estos hombres mueren de muerte natural como normalmente ocurre, entonces EL SEÑOR no me ha enviado a mí.

Si como mueren todos los hombres murieren éstos, ó si fueren ellos visitados á la manera de todos los hombres, Jehová no me envió.

If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.

If these men die the common death of all men, or if they experience what all men experience, then the LORD hasn’t sent me.

Pero si EL SEÑOR crea una abertura en la tierra que se los trague como una boca grande, junto a todas sus familias, y si bajan vivos al Seol, entonces ustedes deben comprender que estos hombres han despreciado al SEÑOR."

Mas si Jehová hiciere una nueva cosa, y la tierra abriere su boca, y los tragare con todas sus cosas, y descendieren vivos al abismo, entonces conoceréis que estos hombres irritaron á Jehová.

But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.

But if the LORD makes a new thing, and the ground opens its mouth, and swallows them up with all that belong to them, and they go down alive into Sheol, then you shall understand that these men have despised the LORD.”

Tan pronto Moisés terminó de hablar estas palabras, la tierra se abrió debajo de estos hombres.

Y aconteció, que en acabando él de hablar todas estas palabras, rompióse la tierra que estaba debajo de ellos:

And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:

As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split apart.

La tierra abrió su boca y se los tragó a ellos, sus familias y toda la gente que pertenecía a Coré, como también todas sus posesiones.

Y abrió la tierra su boca, y tragólos á ellos, y á sus casas, y á todos los hombres de Coré, y á toda su hacienda.

And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.

The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up with their households, all of Korah’s men, and all their goods.

Ellos, y todos en sus familias, bajaron vivos al Seol. La tierra se cerró sobre ellos, y de esta manera perecieron de en medio de la comunidad.

Y ellos, con todo lo que tenían, descendieron vivos al abismo, y cubriólos la tierra, y perecieron de en medio de la congregación.

They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

So they, and all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol. The earth closed on them, and they perished from among the assembly.

Todo Israel alrededor de ellos huyeron de sus gritos. Ellos exclamaron: "¡La tierra puede tragarnos a nosotros también!"

Y todo Israel, los que estaban en derredor de ellos, huyeron al grito de ellos; porque decían: No nos trague también la tierra.

And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.

All Israel that were around them fled at their cry; for they said, “Lest the earth swallow us up!”

Entonces fuego salió del SEÑOR y devoró a los 250 hombres que habían ofrecido incienso.

Y salió fuego de Jehová, y consumió los doscientos y cincuenta hombres que ofrecían el sahumerio.

And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

Fire came out from the LORD, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.

Otra vez EL SEÑOR le habló a Moisés y ÉL dijo:

Entonces Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

"Habla a Eleazar, hijo de Aarón el sacerdote, y permítele tomar los incensarios de las llamas, por cuanto los incensarios son separados para Mí. Entonces, déjale regar los carbones encendidos a una distancia.

Di á Eleazar, hijo de Aarón sacerdote, que tome los incensarios de en medio del incendio, y derrame más allá el fuego; porque son santificados:

Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed.

“Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire away from the camp; for they are holy,

Toma los incensarios de aquellos que perdieron sus vidas por su pecado. Deja que sean hechos platos amartillados como una cubierta sobre el altar. Esos hombres los ofrecieron delante de Mí, así que están separados para Mí. Serán una señal de mi presencia al pueblo de Israel."

Los incensarios de estos pecadores contra sus almas: y harán de ellos planchas extendidas para cubrir el altar: por cuanto ofrecieron con ellos delante de Jehová, son santificados; y serán por señal á los hijos de Israel.

The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.

even the censers of those who sinned against their own lives. Let them be beaten into plates for a covering of the altar, for they offered them before the LORD. Therefore they are holy. They shall be a sign to the children of Israel.”

Eleazar el sacerdote tomó los incensarios de bronce que habían usado los hombres que fueron quemados, y fueron amartillados en una cubierta para el altar,

Y el sacerdote Eleazar tomó los incensarios de metal con que los quemados habían ofrecido; y extendiéronlos para cubrir el altar,

And Eleazar the priest took the brasen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:

Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers which those who were burned had offered; and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,

para ser un recordatorio al pueblo de Israel, para que ningún forastero que no fuera descendiente de Aarón pudiera venir a quemar incienso delante del SEÑOR, para que no vinieran a ser como Coré y su grupo-- tal como EL SEÑOR lo había mandado a través de Moisés.

En recuerdo á los hijos de Israel que ningún extraño que no sea de la simiente de Aarón, llegue á ofrecer sahumerio delante de Jehová, porque no sea como Coré, y como su séquito; según se lo dijo Jehová por mano de Moisés.

To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.

to be a memorial to the children of Israel, to the end that no stranger who isn’t of the offspring of Aaron, would come near to burn incense before the LORD, that he not be as Korah and as his company; as the LORD spoke to him by Moses.

Pero la siguiente mañana toda la comunidad del pueblo de Israel se quejó contra Moisés y Aarón. Ellos dijeron: "Ustedes han matado a la gente del SEÑOR."

El día siguiente toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel murmuró contra Moisés y Aarón, diciendo: Vosotros habéis muerto al pueblo de Jehová.

But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.

But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed the LORD’s people!”

Entonces ocurrió, cuando la comunidad se reunió en contra de Moisés y Aarón, que miraron hacia la tienda de reunión y, he aquí, la nube la estaba cubriendo. La gloria del SEÑOR apareció,

Y aconteció que, como se juntó la congregación contra Moisés y Aarón, miraron hacia el tabernáculo del testimonio, y he aquí la nube lo había cubierto, y apareció la gloria de Jehová.

And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.

When the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, they looked toward the Tent of Meeting. Behold, the cloud covered it, and the LORD’s glory appeared.

y Moisés y Aarón vinieron al frente de la tienda de reunión.

Y vinieron Moisés y Aarón delante del tabernáculo del testimonio.

And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.

Moses and Aaron came to the front of the Tent of Meeting.

Entonces EL SEÑOR le habló a Moisés. Y Él dijo:

Y Jehová habló á Moisés, diciendo:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

"Aléjate del frente de esta comunidad para que Yo pueda consumirlos inmediatamente." Entonces Moisés y Aarón se acostaron boca abajo.

Apartaos de en medio de esta congregación, y consumirélos en un momento. Y ellos se echaron sobre sus rostros.

Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

“Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!” They fell on their faces.

Moisés le dijo a Aarón: "Toma el incensario, pon fuego en él del altar, pon incienso en él, llévalo rápidamente a la comunidad, y haz expiación por ellos, porque ira está viniendo del SEÑOR. La plaga ha comenzado."

Y dijo Moisés á Aarón: Toma el incensario, y pon en él fuego del altar, y sobre él pon perfume, y ve presto á la congregación, y haz expiación por ellos; porque el furor ha salido de delante de la faz de Jehová: la mortandad ha comenzado.

And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.

Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, put fire from the altar in it, lay incense on it, carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from the LORD! The plague has begun.”

Así que Aarón hizo según Moises le indicó. Corrió al centro de la comunidad. La plaga había comenzado a extenderse entre la gente, así que él puso incienso e hizo expiación por el pueblo.
