E fecero il loro racconto, dicendo: Giungemmo nella terra, dove tu ci mandasti, e questa veramente scorre latte e miele, come si può riconoscere da questi frutti:

Caleb, e Giosuè tentano indarno di calmare le mormorazioni del popolo nate dalla relazione degli esploratori. Mosè placa lo sdegno del Signore. Sono condannati tutti a morir nel deserto, fuori che Caleb, e Giosuè.
