1Hierauf machte sich der Hohepriester Eljasib mit seinen Amtsgenossen, den Priestern, daran, das Schaftor neu zu bauen; das weihten sie und setzten seine Torflügel ein und führten dann den Bau weiter bis zum Turm Hammea, den sie weihten, und bis zum Turm Hananeel.
2Neben ihnen bauten die Männer von Jericho; und neben ihnen baute Sakkur, der Sohn Imris.
3Sodann das Fischtor baute die Familie Senaa; sie führten das Gebälk auf und setzten seine Torflügel, seine Klammern und Riegel ein.
4Neben ihnen besserte Meremoth aus, der Sohn Urias, des Sohnes des Hakkoz; und neben ihm besserte Mesullam aus, der Sohn Berechjas, des Sohnes Mesesabeels; und neben ihm besserte Zadok aus, der Sohn Baanas.
5Ihm zur Seite besorgten die Thekoiter die Ausbesserung, aber die Vornehmen unter ihnen hatten ihren Nacken nicht unter den Dienst ihres Herrn (Nehemia) gebeugt.
6Das Tor der Altstadt besserten Jojada, der Sohn Paseahs, und Mesullam, der Sohn Besodjas aus; sie führten das Gebälk auf und setzten seine Torflügel, seine Klammern und seine Riegel ein.
7Neben ihnen besserten der Gibeoniter Melatja und der Meronothiter Jadon aus samt den Leuten von Gibeon und Mizpa, die zum Gerichtsstuhl des Statthalters der Provinz auf der Westseite des Euphrats gehörten.
8Neben ihnen besserte Ussiel aus, der Sohn Harhajas, und die Zunft der Goldschmiede; und ihnen zur Seite besserte Hananja, einer von der Zunft der Salbenhändler, Jerusalem bis an die breite Mauer aus.
9Neben ihnen arbeitete Rephaja, der Sohn Hurs, der Vorsteher der einen Hälfte des Bezirks Jerusalem.
10Neben ihnen besserte Jedaja aus, der Sohn Harumaphs, und zwar seinem Hause gegenüber; und neben ihm besserte Hattus aus, der Sohn Hasabnejas.
11Eine zweite Strecke besserte Malkija, der Sohn Harims, und Hasub, der Sohn Pahath-Moabs, aus, auch den Ofenturm.
12Neben ihnen besserte Sallum aus, der Sohn des Hallohes, der Vorsteher der andern Hälfte des Bezirks Jerusalem, er und seine Töchter.
13Das Taltor besserten Hanun und die Bewohner von Sanoah aus; sie bauten es auf und setzten seine Türen, seine Klammern und Riegel ein und arbeiteten noch tausend Ellen weiter an der Mauer bis zum Misttor. –
14Das Misttor selbst aber besserte Malkija aus, der Sohn Rechabs, der Vorsteher des Bezirks Beth-Cherem; er baute es auf und setzte seine Torflügel, seine Klammern und Riegel ein. –
15Das Quellentor besserte Sallun aus, der Sohn Kol-Hoses, der Vorsteher des Bezirks Mizpa; er baute es auf, überdachte es und setzte seine Torflügel, seine Klammern und Riegel ein; dazu die Mauer am Teich der Wasserleitung beim Königsgarten und bis an die Stufen, die von der Davidsstadt herabführen.
16Nächst ihm besserte Nehemia aus, der Sohn Asbuks, der Vorsteher der einen Hälfte des Bezirks Beth-Zur, bis gegenüber den Davidsgräbern und weiter bis an den Teich, der dort angelegt worden war, und bis an die Kaserne. –
17Nächst ihm besserten die Leviten aus: Rehum, der Sohn Banis. Neben ihm besserte Hasabja aus, der Vorsteher der einen Hälfte des Bezirks Kegila, für seinen Bezirk. –
18Nächst ihm besserten deren Genossen aus: Binnui, der Sohn Henadads, der Vorsteher der andern Hälfte des Bezirks Kegila. –
19Neben ihm besserte Eser aus, der Sohn Jesuas, der Vorsteher der anderen Hälfte von Mizpa, eine zweite Strecke gegenüber dem Aufstieg zum Zeughaus am Winkel. –
20Nächst ihm bergaufwärts besserte Baruch, der Sohn Sabbais, eine zweite Strecke aus vom Winkel bis an den Eingang zum Hause des Hohenpriesters Eljasib. –
21Nächst ihm besserte Meremoth, der Sohn Urias, des Sohnes des Hakkoz, eine zweite Strecke aus vom Eingang zum Hause Eljasibs bis ans Ende des Hauses Eljasibs. –
22Nächst ihm besserten die Priester aus, die Männer aus dem Jordanbezirk. –
23Nächst ihnen besserten Benjamin und Hassub ihrem Hause gegenüber aus; nächst ihnen Asarja, der Sohn Maasejas, des Sohnes Ananjas, neben seinem Hause. –
24Nächst ihm besserte Binnui, der Sohn Henadads, eine zweite Strecke aus vom Hause Asarjas bis an den Winkel und bis an die Ecke.
25Palal, der Sohn Usais, arbeitete gegenüber dem Winkel und dem oberen Turm, der am königlichen Palast beim Gefängnishof vorspringt. – Nächst ihm besserte Pedaja aus, der Sohn des Parhos,
26die Tempelhörigen aber wohnten auf dem Ophel, bis gegenüber dem Wassertor nach Osten zu und dem vorspringenden Turm. –
27Nächst ihm besserten die Thekoiter eine zweite Strecke aus, dem großen vorspringenden Turm gegenüber und bis an die Mauer des Ophel.
28Oberhalb des Roßtores besserten die Priester aus, ein jeder seinem Hause gegenüber. –
29Nächst ihnen besserte Zadok, der Sohn Immers, seinem Hause gegenüber aus, und nächst ihm Semaja, der Sohn Sechanjas, der Hüter des Osttores. –
30Nächst ihm besserten Hananja, der Sohn Selemjas, und Hanun, der sechste Sohn Zalaphs, eine zweite Strecke aus. – Nächst ihm besserte Mesullam, der Sohn Berechjas, seiner Wohnung gegenüber aus. –
31Nächst ihm besserte Malkija, einer aus der Zunft der Goldschmiede, bis zum Hause der Tempelhörigen und der Krämer dem Wachttor gegenüber aus und bis zum Söller an der Ecke;
32und zwischen dem Söller an der Ecke und dem Schaftor besserten die Goldschmiede und die Krämer aus.
33Als nun Sanballat erfuhr, daß wir (wirklich) die Mauer wieder aufbauten, geriet er in Zorn und heftigen Ärger und spottete über die Juden,
34indem er in Gegenwart seiner Stammesgenossen und der Kriegsleute von Samaria sagte: »Was machen die ohnmächtigen Juden da? Wird man sie gewähren lassen? Werden sie jemals (das Dank-) Opfer darbringen? Werden sie damit eines Tages zu Ende kommen? Werden sie die Steine, die doch verbrannt sind, aus den Schutthaufen lebendig machen?«
35Und der Ammoniter Tobija, der neben ihm stand, sagte: »Was sie auch bauen mögen: springt nur ein Fuchs daran hinauf, so reißt er ihre Steinmauer auseinander!« –
36Höre, unser Gott, wie wir zum Spott geworden sind! Laß ihre Schmähungen auf ihr Haupt zurückfallen und gib sie der Plünderung preis in einem Lande, wo man sie in Gefangenschaft hält!
37Decke ihre Verschuldung nicht zu und laß ihre Sünde vor deinem Angesicht nicht ausgelöscht werden! Denn sie haben durch kränkende Reden gegen die am Bau Tätigen Ärgernis erregt. –
38Wir aber bauten an der Mauer weiter; und als die ganze Mauer bis zur halben Höhe fertig war, gewann das Volk neuen Mut zur Arbeit.

3Y los hijos de Senaa edificaron la puerta del Pescado: ellos la enmaderaron, y levantaron sus puertas, con sus cerraduras y sus cerrojos.
4Y junto á ellos restauró Meremoth hijo de Urías, hijo de Cos: y al lado de ellos, restauró Mesullam hijo de Berechîas, hijo de Mesezabeel. Junto á ellos restauró Sadoc hijo de Baana.
5E inmediato á ellos restauraron los Tecoitas; mas sus grandes no prestaron su cerviz á la obra de su Señor.
6Y la puerta Vieja restauraron Joiada hijo de Pasea, y Mesullam hijo de Besodías: ellos la enmaderaron, y levantaron sus puertas, con sus cerraduras y sus cerrojos.
7Junto á ellos restauró Melatías Gabaonita, y Jadón Meronothita, varones de Gabaón y de Mizpa, por la silla del gobernador de la otra parte del río.
8Y junto á ellos restauró Uzziel hijo de Harhaía, de los plateros; junto al cual restauró también Hananías, hijo de un perfumero. Así dejaron reparado á Jerusalem hasta el muro ancho.
9Junto á ellos restauró también Repaías hijo de Hur, príncipe de la mitad de la región de Jerusalem.
10Asimismo restauró junto á ellos, y frente á su casa, Jedaías hijo de Harumaph; y junto á él restauró Hattus hijo de Hasbanías.
11Malchîas hijo de Harim y Hasub hijo de Pahath-moab, restauraron la otra medida, y la torre de los Hornos.
12Junto á ellos restauró Sallum hijo de Lohes, príncipe de la mitad de la región de Jerusalem, él con sus hijas.
13La puerta del Valle la restauró Hanún con los moradores de Zanoa: ellos la reedificaron, y levantaron sus puertas, con sus cerraduras y sus cerrojos, y mil codos en el muro hasta la puerta del Muladar.
14Y reedificó la puerta del Muladar, Malchîas hijo de Rechâb, príncipe de la provincia de Beth-haccerem: él la reedificó, y levantó sus puertas, sus cerraduras y sus cerrojos.
15Y Sallum hijo de Chôl-hoce, príncipe de la región de Mizpa, restauró la puerta de la Fuente: él la reedificó, y la enmaderó, y levantó sus puertas, sus cerraduras y sus cerrojos, y el muro del estanque de Selah hacia la huerta del rey, y hasta las gradas que descienden de la ciudad de David.
16Después de él restauró Nehemías hijo de Azbuc, príncipe de la mitad de la región de Beth-sur, hasta delante de los sepulcros de David, y hasta el estanque labrado, y hasta la casa de los Valientes.
17Tras él restauraron los Levitas, Rehum hijo de Bani; junto á él restauró Asabías, príncipe de la mitad de la región de Ceila en su región.
18Después de él restauraron sus hermanos, Bavvai hijo de Henadad, príncipe de la mitad de la región de Ceila.
19Y junto á él restauró Ezer hijo de Jesuá, príncipe de Mizpa, la otra medida frente á la subida de la armería de la esquina.
20Después de él se enfervorizó á restaurar Baruch hijo de Zachâi la otra medida, desde la esquina hasta la puerta de la casa de Eliasib gran sacerdote.
21Tras él restauró Meremoth hijo de Urías hijo de Cos la otra medida, desde la entrada de la casa de Eliasib, hasta el cabo de la casa de Eliasib.
22Después de él restauraron los sacerdotes, los varones de la campiña.
23Después de ellos restauraron Benjamín y Hasub, frente á su casa: y después de estos restauró Azarías, hijo de Maasías hijo de Ananías, cerca de su casa.
24Después de él restauró Binnui hijo de Henadad la otra medida, desde la casa de Azarías hasta la revuelta, y hasta la esquina.
25Paal hijo de Uzai, enfrente de la esquina y la torre alta que sale de la casa del rey, que está en el patio de la cárcel. Después de él, Pedaía hijo de Pharos.
26(Y los Nethineos estuvieron en Ophel hasta enfrente de la puerta de las Aguas al oriente, y la torre que sobresalía.)

28Desde la puerta de los Caballos restauraron los sacerdotes, cada uno enfrente de su casa.

30Tras él restauró Hananías hijo de Selemías, y Anún hijo sexto de Salaph, la otra medida. Después de él restauró Mesullam, hijo de Berechîas, enfrente de su cámara.
31Después de él restauró Malchîas hijo del platero, hasta la casa de los Nethineos y de los tratantes, enfrente de la puerta del Juicio, y hasta la sala de la esquina.

1Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.
2And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.
3But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
4And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.
5And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
6Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

13The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.
14But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Beth-haccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
15But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Col-hozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.
16After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Beth-zur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.
17After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.
18After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.

30After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.
31After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.

25Palal the son of Uzai made repairs opposite the turning of the wall, and the tower that stands out from the upper house of the king, which is by the court of the guard. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh made repairs.
26(Now the temple servants lived in Ophel, to the place opposite the water gate toward the east, and the tower that stands out.)

28Above the horse gate, the priests made repairs, everyone across from his own house.
