1Estos son los sacerdotes y los levitas que vinieron con Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, con Josué: Saraía, Jeremías, Esdras,
2Amaría, Melluc, Hattús,
3Sebenías, Reum, Merimut,
4Addo, Gentón, Abía,
5Miamín, Madía, Belga,
6Semeía, Joyarib, Idaía, Sellum, Amoc, Helcías
7Idaía. Estos son los príncipes de los sacerdotes o familias sacerdotales, que vinieron con sus hermanos en los días o sacerdocio de Josué.
8Los levitas fueron Jesua, Bennui, Cedmihel, Sarebía, Judá, Matanías, que con sus hermanos cantaban y dirigían los himnos;
9y Becbecía, y Hanni, con sus hermanos, cada cual en su ministerio,
10Josué, sumo sacerdote, engendró a Joacim, Joacim engendró a Eliasib, y Eliasib engendró a Joíada.
11Joíada engendró a Jonatá, Jonatán engendró a Jeddoa o Jaddo.
12Y en el templo de Joacim los sacerdotes cabezas de las familias sacerdotales eran: De la de Saraías, Maraía; de la de Jeremías, Hananía;
13de la de Esdras, Mosollam; de la de Amarías, Johanán;
14de la Milico o Melluc, Jonatán; de la Sebenías, José;
15de la de Haram, Edna; de la de Marayot, Helci;
16de la de Adaía, Zacarías; de la de Gentón, Mosollam;
17de la de Abía, Zecri; de la de Miamín y de Moadías, Felti;
18de la de Belga, Sammúa; de la de Semaía, Jonatán;
19de la de Joyarib, Matanai; de la de Jodaía, Azzi;
20de la de Sellai, o Sellum, Celai; de la de Amoc, Heber;
21de la de Helcías, Hasebía; de la de Idaía, Natanael.
22En cuanto a los levitas, que vivieron en los tiempos de Eliasib, y de Joíada, y de Johanán, y de Jeddoa, fueron escritas las cabezas de aquellas familias levíticas como las de los sacerdotes en el reinado de Darío, rey de Persia.
23Los hijos de Leví príncipes o cabezas de las familias, se hallaban también escritos en el Libro de los Anales hasta el tiempo de Jonatán, hijo de Eliasib.
24Los príncipes, pues, de los levitas eran Hasebía, Serebía y Josué, hijo de Cedmihel, con sus hermanos empleados en cantar himnos y salmos por sus turnos, conforme a la disposición de David, varón de Dios, observando igualmente el orden establecido.
25Matanía y Becbecía, Obedía, Mosollam, Telmón, Accub, eran guardas de las puertas y de los vestíbulos de delante de ellas.
26Vivían éstos en tiempo de Joacim, hijo de Josué, hijo de Josedec; y, en tiempo de Nehemías gobernador, y de Esdras sacerdote y escriba.
27Para la dedicación de los muros de Jerusalén se buscaron por todos los lugares los levitas para hacerlos venir a Jerusalén a celebrar la dedicación y fiestas en acción de gracias con cánticos y címbalos, salterios y cítaras.
28Se juntaron, pues, los cantores de la campiña de Jerusalén y de las aldeas de Netufati,
29y de la casa de Galgal, y de los territorios de Geba, y Asmavet; pues los cantores se habían hecho granjas en la comarca de Jerusalén .
30Se purificaron, pues, los sacerdotes y levitas, y purificaron después al pueblo, y las puertas y los muros.
31Yo hice subir a los magnates de Judá sobre la muralla y formé también dos grandes coros de gente que cantaba. Y se encaminaron a la derecha sobre el muro hacia la puerta llamada del Estercolero.
32Y detrás iban Osaías y la mitad de los magnates de Judá,
33Y Azarías, Esdras, y Mosollam,
34Judas, y Benjamín, y Semeía, y Jeremías.
35De los sacerdotes iban con sus trompetas Zacarías, hijo de Jonatán, hijo de Semeías, hijo de Matanías, hijo de Micaías, hijo de Zecur, hijo de Asaf,
36y sus hermanos Semeía, Azareel, Melalai, Galalai, Maai, Natanael, y Judas y Hanani, con los instrumentos músicos de David, varón de Dios; y Esdras escriba, delante de ellos, hasta la puerta de la Fuente.
37Enfrente de éstos subieron los otros, por las gradas de la ciudad de David o monte Sión, donde se alza el muro sobre la casa de David, hasta la puerta de las Aguas, al oriente.
38Y de esta suerte el segundo coro de los que cantaban a Dios acciones de gracias marchaba por la parte opuesta y yo detrás de él con la otra mitad del pueblo, por encima de la muralla y de la torre de los Hornos hasta la parte más ancha del muro,
39pasando por sobre la puerta de Efraín, y sobre la puerta antigua, y sobre la puerta del Pescado, y sobre la torre de Hananeel, y la torre de Emat, hasta la puerta del Ganado; y vinieron a parar sobre la puerta de la Cárcel.
40Y se juntaron los dos coros de cantores en la casa de Dios, estando yo y la mitad de los magistrados conmigo,
41y los sacerdotes Eliaquim, Maasía, Miamín, Miquea, Elioenai, Zacaría, Hananía con sus trompetas o clarines,
42y Maasía, y Semeía, y Eleazar, y Azzi, y Johanán, y Melquía, y Elam, y Ezer. E hicieron resonar su voz los cantores, y Jezraía, su prefecto o maestro que dirigía el canto.
43Y se inmolaron aquel día grandes víctimas, y hubo gran regocijo, por el consuelo de que los colmaba Dios; se alegraron igualmente sus mujeres e hijos, y el alborozo de Jerusalén se oyó de lejos.
44Se escogieron también aquel mismo día de entre los sacerdotes y levitas algunos para cuidar las salas del tesoro, a fin de que por sus manos los magnates de la ciudad presentasen en honorífico tributo de acción de gracias las ofertas de los licores y de las primicias, y de los diezmos; porque el pueblo de Judá quedó sumamente satisfecho de los sacerdotes y levitas que asistieron a las funciones;
45y éstos por su parte cumplieron exactamente con el culto de su Dios y con las ceremonias de la expiación; como también los cantores y porteros, conforme a lo prescrito por David y por su hijo Salomón .
46Porque desde el principio , en tiempo de David y de Asaf, había establecido jefes de los cantores que entonaban himnos y alabanzas a Dios.
47Y así en tiempo de Zorobabel y en el de Nehemías todo Israel daba diariamente sus raciones a los cantores y porteros, y presentaba la oblación santa de los diezmos a los levitas, y éstos la presentaban también a los hijos de Aarón.

11Y Joiada engendró á Jonathán, y Jonathán engendró á Jaddua.
12Y en los días de Joiacim los sacerdotes cabezas de familias fueron: de Seraías, Meraías; de Jeremías, Hananías;
13De Esdras, Mesullam; de Amarías, Johanán;
14De Melichâ, Jonathán; de Sebanías, Joseph;
15De Harim, Adna; de Meraioth, Helcai;
16De Iddo, Zacarías; de Ginnethón, Mesullam;
17De Abías, Zichri; de Miniamín, de Moadías, Piltai;
18De Bilga, Sammua; de Semaías, Jonathán;

22Los Levitas en días de Eliasib, de Joiada, y de Johanán y Jaddua, fueron escritos por cabezas de familias; también los sacerdotes, hasta el reinado de Darío el Persa.
23Los hijos de Leví, cabezas de familias, fueron escritos en el libro de las crónicas hasta los días de Johanán, hijo de Eliasib.
24Los cabezas de los Levitas: Hasabías, Serebías, y Jesuá hijo de Cadmiel, y sus hermanos delante de ellos, para alabar y para rendir gracias, conforme al estatuto de David varón de Dios, guardando su turno.
25Mathanías, y Bacbucías, Obadías, Mesullam, Talmón, Accub, guardas, eran porteros para la guardia á las entradas de las puertas.
26Estos fueron en los días de Joiacim, hijo de Jesuá, hijo de Josadac, y en los días del gobernador Nehemías, y del sacerdote Esdras, escriba.
27Y á la dedicación del muro de Jerusalem buscaron á los Levitas de todos sus lugares, para traerlos á Jerusalem, para hacer la dedicación y la fiesta con alabanzas y con cánticos, con címbalos, salterios y cítaras.
28Y fueron reunidos los hijos de los cantores, así de la campiña alrededor de Jerusalem como de las aldeas de Netophati;
29Y de la casa de Gilgal, y de los campos de Geba, y de Azmaveth; porque los cantores se habían edificado aldeas alrededor de Jerusalem.
30Y se purificaron los sacerdotes y los Levitas; y purificaron al pueblo, y las puertas, y el muro.
31Hice luego subir á los príncipes de Judá sobre el muro, y puse dos coros grandes que fueron en procesión: el uno á la mano derecha sobre el muro hacia la puerta del Muladar.
32E iba tras de ellos Osaías, y la mitad de los príncipes de Judá,
33Y Azarías, Esdras y Mesullam,
34Judá y Benjamín, y Semaías, y Jeremías;
35Y de los hijos de los sacerdotes iban con trompetas, Zacarías hijo de Jonathán, hijo de Semaías, hijo de Mathanías, hijo de Michâías, hijo de Zachûr, hijo de Asaph;
36Y sus hermanos Semaías, y Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nathanael, Judá y Hanani, con los instrumentos músicos de David varón de Dios; y Esdras escriba, delante de ellos.
37Y á la puerta de la Fuente, en derecho delante de ellos, subieron por las gradas de la ciudad de David, por la subida del muro, desde la casa de David hasta la puerta de las Aguas al oriente.
38Y el segundo coro iba del lado opuesto, y yo en pos de él, con la mitad del pueblo sobre el muro, desde la torre de los Hornos hasta el muro ancho;
39Y desde la puerta de Ephraim hasta la puerta vieja, y á la puerta del Pescado, y la torre de Hananeel, y la torre de Hamath, hasta la puerta de las Ovejas: y pararon en la puerta de la Cárcel.
40Pararon luego los dos coros en la casa de Dios; y yo, y la mitad de los magistrados conmigo;
41Y los sacerdotes, Eliacim, Maaseías, Miniamin, Michâías, Elioenai, Zacarías, y Hananías, con trompetas;
42Y Maaseías, y Semeías, y Eleazar, y Uzzi, y Johanán, y Malchías, y Elam, y Ezer. Y los cantores cantaban alto, é Israhía era el prefecto.
43Y sacrificaron aquel día grandes víctimas, é hicieron alegrías; porque Dios los había recreado con grande contentamiento: alegráronse también las mujeres y muchachos; y el alborozo de Jerusalem fué oído de lejos.
44Y en aquel día fueron puestos varones sobre las cámaras de los tesoros, de las ofrendas, de las primicias, y de los diezmos, para juntar en ellas, de los campos de las ciudades, las porciones legales para los sacerdotes y Levitas: porque era grande el gozo de Judá con respecto á los sacerdotes y Levitas que asistían.
45Y habían guardado la observancia de su Dios, y la observancia de la expiación, como también los cantores y los porteros, conforme al estatuto de David y de Salomón su hijo.
46Porque desde el tiempo de David y de Asaph, ya de antiguo, había príncipes de cantores, y cántico y alabanza, y acción de gracias á Dios.
47Y todo Israel en días de Zorobabel, y en días de Nehemías, daba raciones á los cantores y á los porteros, cada cosa en su día: consagraban asimismo sus porciones á los Levitas, y los Levitas consagraban parte á los hijos de Aarón.

5Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,

24And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward.
25Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.
26These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.
27And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.
28And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi;
29Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem.
30And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
31Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:
32And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,
33And Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,
34Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,
35And certain of the priests’ sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:
36And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.
37And at the fountain gate, which was over against them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward.
38And the other company of them that gave thanks went over against them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto the broad wall;
39And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the prison gate.
40So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me:
41And the priests; Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
42And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.
43Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.
44And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.
45And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
46For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.
47And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron.

38The other company of those who gave thanks went to meet them, and I after them, with the half of the people on the wall above the tower of the furnaces, even to the wide wall,
39and above the gate of Ephraim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even to the sheep gate; and they stood still in the gate of the guard.
40So the two companies of those who gave thanks in God’s house stood, and I and the half of the rulers with me;
41and the priests, Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
42and Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. The singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.
43They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even far away.
44On that day, men were appointed over the rooms for the treasures, for the wave offerings, for the first fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them according to the fields of the cities the portions appointed by the law for the priests and Levites; for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites who served.
45They performed the duty of their God and the duty of the purification, and so did the singers and the gatekeepers, according to the commandment of David and of Solomon his son.
46For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
47All Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave the portions of the singers and the gatekeepers, as every day required; and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.
