1The burden of Nineueh. The booke of the vision of Nahum the Elkeshite.
2God is ielous, and the Lord reuengeth: the Lord reuengeth: euen the Lord of anger, the Lord will take vengeance on his aduersaries, and he reserueth wrath for his enemies.
3The Lord is slow to anger, but he is great in power, and will not surely cleare the wicked: the Lord hath his way in ye whirlewind, and in the storme, and the cloudes are the dust of his feete.
4He rebuketh the sea, and dryeth it, and he dryeth vp all the riuers: Bashan is wasted and Carmel, and the floure of Lebanon is wasted.
5The mountaines tremble for him, and the hilles melt, and the earth is burnt at his sight, yea, the worlde, and all that dwell therein.
6Who can stande before his wrath? or who can abide in the fiercenesse of his wrath? his wrath is powred out like fire, and the rockes are broken by him.
7The Lord is good and as a strong hold in the day of trouble, and he knoweth them that trust in him.
8But passing ouer as with a flood, he will vtterly destroy the place thereof, and darknesse shall pursue his enemies.
9What doe ye imagine against the Lord? he wil make an vtter destruction: affliction shall not rise vp the seconde time.
10For he shall come as vnto thornes folden one in another, and as vnto drunkards in their drunkennesse: they shall be deuoured as stubble fully dryed.
11There commeth one out of thee that imagineth euill against the Lord, euen a wicked counsellour.
12Thus saith the Lord, Though they be quiet, and also many, yet thus shall they be cut off when he shall passe by: though I haue afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
13For nowe I will breake his yoke from thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
14And the Lord hath giuen a commandement concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sowen: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the grauen, and the molten image: I will make it thy graue for thee, for thou art vile.
15Beholde vpon the mountaines the feete of him that declareth, and publisheth peace: O Iudah, keepe thy solemne feastes, perfourme thy vowes: for the wicked shall no more passe thorowe thee: he is vtterly cut off.

2Dios celoso y vengador es Jehová; vengador es Jehová, y Señor de ira; Jehová, que se venga de sus adversarios, y que guarda enojo para sus enemigos.
3Jehová es tardo para la ira, y grande en poder, y no tendrá al culpado por inocente. Jehová marcha entre la tempestad y turbión, y las nubes son el polvo de sus pies.
4El amenaza á la mar, y la hace secar, y agosta todos los ríos: Basán fué destruído, y el Carmelo, y la flor del Líbano fué destruída.
5Los montes tiemblan de él, y los collados se deslíen; y la tierra se abrasa á su presencia, y el mundo, y todos los que en él habitan.
6¿Quién permanecerá delante de su ira? ¿y quién quedará en pié en el furor de su enojo? Su ira se derrama como fuego, y por él se hienden las peñas.
7Bueno es Jehová para fortaleza en el día de la angustia; y conoce á los que en él confían.
8Mas con inundación impetuosa hará consumación de su lugar, y tinieblas perseguirán á sus enemigos.
9¿Qué pensáis contra Jehová? El hará consumación: la tribulación no se levantará dos veces.
10Porque como espinas entretegidas, mientras se embriagarán los borrachos, serán consumidos como las estopas llenas de sequedad.
11De ti salió el que pensó mal contra Jehová, un consultor impío.
12Así ha dicho Jehová: Aunque reposo tengan, y sean tantos, así serán talados, y él pasará. Bien que te he afligido, no más te afligiré.
13Porque ahora quebraré su yugo de sobre ti, y romperé tus coyundas.
14Mas acerca de ti mandará Jehová, que nunca más sea sembrado alguno de tu nombre: de la casa de tu dios talaré escultura y estatua de fundición, haréla tu sepulcro; porque fuiste vil.
15He aquí sobre los montes los pies del que trae buenas nuevas, del que pregona la paz. Celebra, oh Judá, tus fiestas, cumple tus votos: porque nunca más pasará por ti el malvado; pereció del todo.

2God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
3The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
5The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
8But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
9What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
10For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
11There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.

2The LORD is a jealous God and avenges. The LORD avenges and is full of wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he maintains wrath against his enemies.
3The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. The LORD has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel languish. The flower of Lebanon languishes.
5The mountains quake before him, and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, yes, the world, and all who dwell in it.
6Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by him.
7The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.
8But with an overflowing flood, he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.
9What do you plot against the LORD? He will make a full end. Affliction won’t rise up the second time.
10For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly like dry stubble.
11One has gone out of you who devises evil against the LORD, who counsels wickedness.
12The LORD says: “Though they are in full strength and likewise many, even so they will be cut down and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.
13Now I will break his yoke from off you, and will burst your bonds apart.”
14The LORD has commanded concerning you: “No more descendants will bear your name. Out of the house of your gods, I will cut off the engraved image and the molten image. I will make your grave, for you are vile.”
15Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, Judah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.
