1Da versammelten sich bei ihm die Pharisäer und einige Schriftgelehrte, die von Jerusalem gekommen waren;
2und als sie einige seiner Jünger die Brote mit unreinen, das heißt ungewaschenen Händen zu sich nehmen sahen –
3die Pharisäer nämlich und die Juden überhaupt essen nur, wenn sie sich die Hände mit der Faust gewaschen haben, weil sie an den von den Alten überlieferten Satzungen festhalten;
4und auch wenn sie vom Markt heimkommen, essen sie nicht, ohne sich zunächst (die Hände) abgespült zu haben; und noch viele andere Vorschriften gibt es, deren strenge Beobachtung sie überkommen haben, z.B. das Eintauchen von Bechern, Krügen und Kupfergeschirr –,
5da fragten ihn die Pharisäer und Schriftgelehrten: »Warum halten sich deine Jünger in ihrer Lebensweise nicht an die Überlieferung der Alten, sondern nehmen die Speisen mit unreinen Händen zu sich?«
6Er antwortete ihnen: »Treffend hat Jesaja von euch Heuchlern geweissagt, wie geschrieben steht: ›Dieses Volk ehrt mich (nur) mit den Lippen, ihr Herz aber ist weit entfernt von mir;
7doch vergeblich verehren sie mich, weil sie Menschengebote zu ihren Lehren machen.‹
8Das Gebot Gottes laßt ihr außer acht und haltet an den euch überlieferten Satzungen der Menschen fest ihr nehmt Abwaschungen von Krügen und Bechern vor und tut Ähnliches derart noch vielfach.«
9Dann fuhr er fort: »Trefflich versteht ihr es, das Gebot Gottes aufzuheben, um die euch überlieferten Satzungen festzuhalten.
10Mose hat z.B. geboten: ›Ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter‹ und: ›Wer den Vater oder die Mutter schmäht, soll des Todes sterben.‹
11Ihr aber sagt: ›Wenn jemand zu seinem Vater oder zu seiner Mutter sagt: Korban, das heißt: eine Gabe für den Tempelschatz soll das sein, was dir sonst als Unterstützung von mir zugute gekommen wäre‹,
12so laßt ihr ihn für seinen Vater oder seine Mutter nichts mehr tun
13und hebt damit das Wort Gottes durch eure Überlieferung auf, die ihr weitergegeben habt; und Ähnliches derart tut ihr vielfach.«
14Nachdem er dann die Volksmenge wieder herbeigerufen hatte, sagte er zu ihnen: »Hört mir alle zu und sucht es zu verstehen!
15Nichts geht von außen in den Menschen hinein, was ihn zu verunreinigen vermag, sondern was aus dem Menschen herauskommt, das ist es, was den Menschen verunreinigt.
16Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre!«
17Als er dann vom Volk weggegangen und ins Haus gekommen war, befragten ihn seine Jünger über das Gleichnis.
18Da sagte er zu ihnen: »So seid auch ihr immer noch ohne Verständnis? Begreift ihr nicht, daß alles, was von außen her in den Menschen hineingeht, ihn nicht zu verunreinigen vermag,
19weil es ihm nicht ins Herz hineingeht, sondern in den Leib und auf dem natürlichen Wege, der alle Speisen reinigt, wieder ausgeschieden wird?«
20Dann fuhr er fort: »Was dagegen aus dem Menschen herauskommt, das verunreinigt den Menschen.
21Denn von innen her, aus dem Herzen der Menschen, kommen die bösen Gedanken hervor: Unzucht, Diebstahl, Mordtaten,
22Ehebruch, Habsucht, Bosheit, Arglist, Ausschweifung, Scheelsucht, Lästerung, Hochmut, Unverstand.
23Alles Böse dieser Art kommt von innen heraus und verunreinigt den Menschen.«
24Er brach dann von dort auf und begab sich in das Gebiet von Tyrus. Als er dort in einem Hause Aufnahme gefunden hatte, wünschte er, daß niemand es erführe; doch er konnte nicht verborgen bleiben,
25sondern alsbald hörte eine Frau von ihm, deren Töchterlein von einem unreinen Geist besessen war; sie kam also und warf sich vor ihm nieder –
26die Frau war aber eine Griechin, ihrer Herkunft nach eine Syrophönizierin – und bat ihn, er möchte den bösen Geist aus ihrer Tochter austreiben.
27Da entgegnete er ihr: »Laß zuerst die Kinder satt werden; denn es ist nicht recht, das den Kindern zukommende Brot zu nehmen und es den Hündlein hinzuwerfen.«
28Sie aber gab ihm zur Antwort: »O doch, Herr! Auch die Hündlein bekommen ja unter dem Tisch von den Brocken der Kinder zu essen.«
29Da sagte er zu ihr: »Um dieses Wortes willen gehe heim: der böse Geist ist aus deiner Tochter ausgefahren.«
30Als sie nun in ihr Haus zurückkam, traf sie ihr Kind an, wie es ruhig auf dem Bett lag, und der böse Geist war ausgefahren.
31Nachdem er dann das Gebiet von Tyrus wieder verlassen hatte, kam er über Sidon an den Galiläischen See (und zwar) mitten in das Gebiet der Zehn-Städte.
32Da brachten sie einen Tauben zu ihm, der kaum lallen konnte, und baten ihn, er möchte ihm die Hand auflegen.
33So nahm er ihn denn von der Volksmenge weg abseits, legte ihm, als er mit ihm allein war, seine Finger in die Ohren, benetzte sie mit Speichel und berührte ihm die Zunge;
34nachdem er dann zum Himmel aufgeblickt hatte, seufzte er und sagte zu ihm: »Effatha!«, das heißt (übersetzt) »Tu dich auf!«
35Da taten sich seine Ohren auf, die Gebundenheit seiner Zunge löste sich, und er redete richtig.
36Jesus gebot ihnen dann ernstlich, daß sie niemand etwas davon sagen sollten; aber je mehr er es ihnen gebot, um so mehr und um so eifriger verbreiteten sie die Kunde;
37und sie gerieten vor Staunen ganz außer sich und sagten: »Er hat alles wohl gemacht, auch die Tauben macht er hören und die Sprachlosen reden!«

1Y SE juntaron á él los Fariseos, y algunos de los escribas, que habían venido de Jerusalem;
2Los cuales, viendo á algunos de sus discípulos comer pan con manos comunes, es á saber, no lavadas, los condenaban.
3(Porque los Fariseos y todos los Judíos, teniendo la tradición de los ancianos, si muchas veces no se lavan las manos, no comen.
4Y volviendo de la plaza, si no se lavaren, no comen. Y otras muchas cosas hay, que tomaron para guardar, como las lavaduras de los vasos de beber, y de los jarros, y de los vasos de metal, y de los lechos.)
5Y le preguntaron los Fariseos y los escribas: ¿Por qué tus discípulos no andan conforme á la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen pan con manos comunes?
6Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, como está escrito: Este pueblo con los labios me honra, mas su corazón lejos está de mí.
7Y en vano me honran, enseñando como doctrinas mandamientos de hombres.
8Porque dejando el mandamiento de Dios, tenéis la tradición de los hombres; las lavaduras de los jarros y de los vasos de beber: y hacéis otras muchas cosas semejantes.
9Les decía también: Bien invalidáis el mandamiento de Dios para guardar vuestra tradición.
10Porque Moisés dijo: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre, y: El que maldijere al padre ó á la madre, morirá de muerte.
11Y vosotros decís: Basta si dijere un hombre al padre ó la madre: Es Corbán (quiere decir, don mío á Dios) todo aquello con que pudiera valerte;
12Y no le dejáis hacer más por su padre ó por su madre,
13Invalidando la palabra de Dios con vuestra tradición que disteis: y muchas cosas hacéis semejantes á éstas.
14Y llamando á toda la multitud, les dijo: Oidme todos, y entended:
15Nada hay fuera del hombre que entre en él, que le pueda contaminar: mas lo que sale de él, aquello es lo que contamina al hombre.
16Si alguno tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
17Y apartado de la multitud, habiendo entrado en casa, le preguntaron sus discípulos sobre la parábola.
18Y díjoles: ¿También vosotros estáis así sin entendimiento? ¿No entendéis que todo lo de fuera que entra en el hombre, no le puede contaminar;
19Porque no entra en su corazón, sino en el vientre, y sale á la secreta? Esto decía, haciendo limpias todas las viandas.
20Mas decía, que lo que del hombre sale, aquello contamina al hombre.
21Porque de dentro, del corazón de los hombres, salen los malos pensamientos, los adulterios, las fornicaciones, los homicidios,
22Los hurtos, las avaricias, las maldades, el engaño, las desvergüenzas, el ojo maligno, las injurias, la soberbia, la insensatez.
23Todas estas maldades de dentro salen, y contaminan al hombre.
24Y levantándose de allí, se fué á los términos de Tiro y de Sidón; y entrando en casa, quiso que nadie lo supiese; mas no pudo esconderse.
25Porque una mujer, cuya hija tenía un espíritu inmundo, luego que oyó de él, vino y se echó á sus pies.
26Y la mujer era Griega, Sirofenisa de nación; y le rogaba que echase fuera de su hija al demonio.
27Mas Jesús le dijo: Deja primero hartarse los hijos, porque no es bien tomar el pan de los hijos y echarlo á los perrillos.
28Y respondió ella, y le dijo: Sí, Señor; pero aun los perrillos debajo de la mesa, comen de las migajas de los hijos.
29Entonces le dice: Por esta palabra, ve; el demonio ha salido de tu hija.
30Y como fué á su casa, halló que el demonio había salido, y á la hija echada sobre la cama.
31Y volviendo á salir de los términos de Tiro, vino por Sidón á la mar de Galilea, por mitad de los términos de Decápolis.
32Y le traen un sordo y tartamudo, y le ruegan que le ponga la mano encima.
33Y tomándole aparte de la gente, metió sus dedos en las orejas de él, y escupiendo, tocó su lengua;
34Y mirando al cielo, gimió, y le dijo: Ephphatha: que es decir: Sé abierto.
35Y luego fueron abiertos sus oídos, y fué desatada la ligadura de su lengua, y hablaba bien.
36Y les mandó que no lo dijesen á nadie; pero cuanto más les mandaba, tanto más y más lo divulgaban.
37Y en gran manera se maravillaban, diciendo: Bien lo ha hecho todo: hace á los sordos oir, y á los mudos hablar.

1Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
14And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
15There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
17And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
18And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
19Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
20And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
24And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
25For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
26The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
27But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
28And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
29And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.
30And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
31And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
37And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

1Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.
2Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is unwashed, hands, they found fault.
3(For the Pharisees and all the Jews don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.
4They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)
5The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”
6He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8“For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”
9He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
10For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
11But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’” that is to say, given to God,
12“then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,
13making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”
14He called all the multitude to himself and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.
15There is nothing from outside of the man that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
16If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
17When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.
18He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,
19because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, making all foods clean?”
20He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.
21For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,
22covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.
23All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”
24From there he arose and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.
25For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.
26Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.
27But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
28But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
29He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
30She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.
31Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee through the middle of the region of Decapolis.
32They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.
33He took him aside from the multitude privately and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat and touched his tongue.
34Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”
35Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.
36He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.
37They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
