Er ging von dort hinweg und kam in seine Vaterstadt, und seine Jünger begleiteten ihn.

Als es wieder Sabbat war, lehrte er in der Synagoge, und viele, die ihn hörten, fragten voll Erstaunen: "Woher mag er all dies haben? Welche Weisheit ward ihm verliehen! Welch große Wunder geschehen durch seine Hände!

Y llegado el sábado, comenzó á enseñar en la sinagoga; y muchos oyéndole, estaban atónitos, diciendo: ¿De dónde tiene éste estas cosas? ¿Y qué sabiduría es ésta que le es dada, y tales maravillas que por sus manos son hechas?

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

Ist das nicht der Zimmermann, der Sohn der Maria und der Bruder des Jakobus, Joses, Judas und des Simon? Und wohnen denn nicht seine Schwestern hier bei uns?" So nahm man an ihm Anstoß.

¿No es éste el carpintero, hijo de María, hermano de Jacobo, y de José, y de Judas, y de Simón? ¿No están también aquí con nosotros, sus hermanas? Y se escandalizaban en él.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Ein Prophet gilt nirgends weniger als in seiner Vaterstadt, bei seinen eigenen Verwandten und in seinem Vaterhause."

Mas Jesús les decía: No hay profeta deshonrado sino en su tierra, y entre sus parientes, y en su casa.

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Er konnte dort kein einziges Wunder wirken; nur daß er einigen Kranken die Hand auflegte und sie heilte.

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Und er wunderte sich wegen ihres Unglaubens. Und lehrend zog er durch die Dörfer ringsumher.

Weiter gebot er ihnen, nichts mitzunehmen auf den Weg als einen Stab, kein Brot und keinen Bettelsack und keine Münze im Gürtel.

And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:

Doch dürften sie Sandalen tragen, aber nicht zwei Röcke.

Ferner sprach er zu ihnen: "Betretet ihr irgendwo ein Haus, dann bleibt dort, bis ihr weiterzieht.

Y les decía: Donde quiera que entréis en una casa, posad en ella hasta que salgáis de allí.

And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.

He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.

Doch wo man euch nicht aufnimmt und auf euch nicht hört, da geht weg von dort und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füßen ihnen zum Zeugnis."

Y todos aquellos que no os recibieren ni os oyeren, saliendo de allí, sacudid el polvo que está debajo de vuestros pies, en testimonio á ellos. De cierto os digo que más tolerable será el castigo de los de Sodoma y Gomorra el día del juicio, que el de aquella ciudad.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”

So zogen sie nun hin und predigten, man solle Buße tun.

Y saliendo, predicaban que los hombres se arrepintiesen.

And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

Sie trieben viele Geister aus, salbten viele Kranke mit Öl und heilten sie.

Y echaban fuera muchos demonios, y ungían con aceite á muchos enfermos, y sanaban.

Die Kunde drang auch zum König Herodes; war doch sein Name in aller Mund. Er sprach: "Johannes der Täufer ist von den Toten auferstanden. Darum wirken in ihm Gottes Kräfte."

Y oyó el rey Herodes la fama de Jesús, porque su nombre se había hecho notorio; y dijo: Juan el que bautizaba, ha resucitado de los muertos, y por tanto, virtudes obran en él.

And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, “John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”

Doch andere behaupteten, er sei Elias; und wieder andere, er sei ein Prophet, wie einer aus den früheren Propheten.

Otros decían: Elías es. Y otros decían: Profeta es, ó alguno de los profetas.

Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

But others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.”

Herodes aber meinte, als er davon hörte: "Johannes, den ich habe enthaupten lassen, ist wieder von den Toten auferstanden."

Y oyéndolo Herodes, dijo: Este es Juan el que yo degollé: él ha resucitado de los muertos.

But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

But Herod, when he heard this, said, “This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”

Eben der Herodes hatte nämlich den Johannes gefangennehmen lassen und im Gefängnis ihn verwahrt wegen der Herodias, dem Weibe des Philippus, seines Bruders, die er geheiratet hatte.

Porque el mismo Herodes había enviado, y prendido á Juan, y le había aprisionado en la cárcel á causa de Herodías, mujer de Felipe su hermano; pues la había tomado por mujer.

For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife: for he had married her.

Denn Johannes hatte dem Herodes vorgehalten: "Es ist dir nicht erlaubt, das Weib deines Bruders zu haben."

Porque Juan decía á Herodes: No te es lícito tener la mujer de tu hermano.

For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.

For John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”

Darum war die Herodias auf ihn erbost und hätte ihn gern töten lassen; sie brachte es aber nicht zuwege.

Mas Herodías le acechaba, y deseaba matarle, y no podía:

Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:

Herodias set herself against him and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,

Herodes hatte nämlich vor Johannes Ehrfurcht; er wußte, daß er ein gerechter und heiliger Mann war. So nahm er ihn in Schutz. Wenn er ihn anhörte, geriet er oft in Zwiespalt mit sich selbst, und trotzdem hörte er ihn gern.

Porque Herodes temía á Juan, sabiendo que era varón justo y santo, y le tenía respeto: y oyéndole, hacía muchas cosas; y le oía de buena gana.

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.

Da kam ein sehr gelegener Tag. An seinem Geburtsfest gab Herodes seinen Würdenträgern, den Obersten und Vornehmsten in Galiläa ein Mahl.

Y venido un día oportuno, en que Herodes, en la fiesta de su nacimiento, daba una cena á sus príncipes y tribunos, y á los principales de Galilea;

And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

Then a convenient day came when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

Da trat die Tochter eben der Herodias herein und tanzte. Und dies gefiel Herodes und den Gästen so, daß der König zu dem Mädchen sprach: "Erbitte von mir, was du willst; ich werde es dir geben."

Y entrando la hija de Herodías, y danzando, y agradando á Herodes y á los que estaban con él á la mesa, el rey dijo á la muchacha: Pídeme lo que quisieres, que yo te lo daré.

And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”

Ja, er schwur ihr: "Was du von mir verlangst, will ich dir geben, und sollte es auch die Hälfte meines Reiches sein."

Y le juró: Todo lo que me pidieres te daré, hasta la mitad de mi reino.

And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

He swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”

Sie ging hinaus und fragte ihre Mutter: "Was soll ich verlangen?" Und diese sagte: "Den Kopf Johannes des Täufers."

Y saliendo ella, dijo á su madre: ¿Qué pediré? Y ella dijo: La cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”

Alsdann trat sie voll Eifer vor den König hin und bat: "Ich will, laß mir sogleich auf einer Schüssel den Kopf Johannes des Täufers geben.

Entonces ella entró prestamente al rey, y pidió, diciendo: Quiero que ahora mismo me des en un plato la cabeza de Juan Bautista.

And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”

Da ward der König tief bestürzt; jedoch seiner Schwüre und der Gäste wegen wollte er sie nicht abweisen.

Y el rey se entristeció mucho; mas á causa del juramento, y de los que estaban con él á la mesa, no quiso desecharla.

And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.

Der König schickte sogleich einen Henker weg mit dem Befehl, seinen Kopf zu bringen. Der ging hinweg und enthauptete ihn im Gefängnis

Y luego el rey, enviando uno de la guardia, mandó que fuese traída su cabeza;

And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard and commanded to bring John’s head; and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

und brachte seinen Kopf auf einer Schüssel, gab ihn dem Mädchen, und das Mädchen gab ihn seiner Mutter.

El cual fué, y le degolló en la cárcel, y trajo su cabeza en un plato, y la dió á la muchacha, y la muchacha la dió á su madre.

And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.

and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.

Als seine Jünger davon hörten, kamen sie und holten seinen Leichnam und bargen ihn in einem Grabe.

Y oyéndolo sus discípulos, vinieron y tomaron su cuerpo, y le pusieron en un sepulcro.

And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.

Nun kehrten die Apostel wiederum zu Jesus zurück und erzählten ihm alles, was sie gewirkt und gepredigt hatten.

Er sprach zu ihnen: "Kommt mit, ihr ganz allein, an einen abgelegenen Ort und ruht euch ein wenig aus." Denn viele gingen ab und zu, so daß sie nicht einmal Zeit zum Essen hatten.

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

Sie fuhren also für sich allein in einem Boot an einen abgelegenen Ort.

Y se fueron en un barco al lugar desierto aparte.

And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.

Doch viele sahen, wie sie von dannen gingen, und erkannten ihre Absicht. Aus allen Städten strömten sie dorthin zu Fuß zusammen und kamen noch vor ihnen an.

Y los vieron ir muchos, y le conocieron; y concurrieron allá muchos á pie de las ciudades, y llegaron antes que ellos, y se juntaron á él.

And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.

Er stieg aus und sah die große Menge, und er empfand ein herzliches Erbarmen über sie; sie waren wie Schafe ohne Hirten. Und er begann, sie mancherlei zu lehren.

Y saliendo Jesús vió grande multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, porque eran como ovejas que no tenían pastor; y les comenzó á enseñar muchas cosas.

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.

Als es schon spät geworden war, traten seine Jünger zu ihm hin und sprachen: "Einsam ist der Ort und auch die Zeit schon vorgerückt.

Y como ya fuese el día muy entrado, sus discípulos llegaron á él, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y el día ya muy entrado;

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.

Entlaß sie! Sie mögen in die Dörfer und die Flecken hier im Umkreis gehen und Nahrung für sich kaufen."

Envíalos para que vayan á los cortijos y aldeas de alrededor, y compren para sí pan; porque no tienen qué comer.

Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.

Er aber sprach zu ihnen: "Gebt ihr ihnen zu essen!" Da sagten sie zu ihm: "Sollen wir denn gehen und Brot für zweihundert Zehner kaufen und ihnen dann zu essen geben?"

Y respondiendo él, les dijo: Dadles de comer vosotros. Y le dijeron: ¿Que vayamos y compremos pan por doscientos denarios, y les demos de comer?

He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”

Er fragte sie: "Wieviel Brote habt ihr? Geht und seht nach!" Sie sahen nach und sagten: "Fünf, und zwei Fische."

Y él les dice: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Id, y vedlo. Y sabiéndolo, dijeron: Cinco, y dos peces.

He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

Dann ließ er alle in Gruppen auf dem grünen Rasen sich lagern.

Y les mandó que hiciesen recostar á todos por partidas sobre la hierba verde.

And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.

Sie ließen sich nun Reih' an Reihe nieder, zu je hundert und je fünfzig.

Y se recostaron por partidas, de ciento en ciento, y de cincuenta en cincuenta.

And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

Dann nahm er die fünf Brote und die zwei Fische; er sah zum Himmel auf, segnete und brach die Brote und gab sie den Jüngern, um sie ihnen vorzulegen. Auch die zwei Fische ließ er unter alle verteilen.

Und alle aßen und wurden satt;

Derer, die gegessen hatten, waren es fünftausend Männer.

Sogleich drängte er die Jünger, in das Boot zu steigen und an das andere Ufer nach Bethsaida weiterzufahren, ihm voraus, während er selbst die Scharen entlassen wollte.

Y luego dió priesa á sus discípulos á subir en el barco, é ir delante de él á Bethsaida de la otra parte, entre tanto que él despedía la multitud.

And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.

Und er entließ sie und stieg auf einen Berg, um zu beten.

Y después que los hubo despedido, se fué al monte á orar.

And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.

Es war schon spät; das Boot war mitten auf dem Meer und er allein noch an Land.

Y como fué la tarde, el barco estaba en medio de la mar, y él solo en tierra.

And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

When evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.

Er sah, wie sie im Dahinfahren hart bedrängt waren; sie hatten nämlich Gegenwind. Da, um die vierte Nachtwache, kam er zu ihnen auf dem Meer daher. Er wollte an ihnen vorübergehen.

Y los vió fatigados bogando, porque el viento les era contrario: y cerca de la cuarta vigilia de la noche, vino á ellos andando sobre la mar, y quería precederlos.

And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them,

But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

Denn alle sahen ihn und erschraken. Doch alsbald redete er sie an und sprach zu ihnen: "Nur Mut! Ich bin es. Habt keine Angst!"

For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

Dann stieg er zu ihnen ins Boot, und sogleich legte sich der Wind. Jetzt gerieten sie erst recht ganz außer sich;

Y subió á ellos en el barco, y calmó el viento: y ellos en gran manera estaban fuera de sí, y se maravillaban:

And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed among themselves, and marveled;

das mit den Broten nämlich hatten sie noch nicht verstanden; ihr Sinn war immer noch verschlossen.

Porque aun no habían considerado lo de los panes, por cuanto estaban ofuscados sus corazones.

For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

for they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

Sie fuhren vollends hinüber und kamen bei Genesareth ans Land.

Y cuando estuvieron de la otra parte, vinieron á tierra de Genezaret, y tomaron puerto.

And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.

Und wie sie aus dem Boote stiegen, ward er sofort erkannt.

Y saliendo ellos del barco, luego le conocieron.

And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

Man lief die ganze Gegend aus und trug voll Eifer Kranke auf Betten dahin, wo sie hörten, daß er sei.

Y recorriendo toda la tierra de alrededor, comenzaron á traer de todas partes enfermos en lechos, á donde oían que estaba.

And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.

Wo immer er Dörfer, Städte oder Gehöfte betrat, da legte man die Kranken auf die Plätze und bat ihn, sie möchten nur den Saum seines Kleides berühren dürfen. Und alle, die ihn berührten, wurden gesund.
