17Mas visto que as raízes não vão muito fundo, essas pessoas permanecem por pouco tempo. Quando surgem os sofrimentos e as perseguições por causa da palavra, logo abandonam a fé.

17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.

17They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble.
