1Jésus se mit ensuite à leur parler en paraboles: Un homme planta une vigne, il l'environna d'une haie, et y creusa un pressoir, et y bâtit une tour, puis il la loua à des vignerons, et s'en alla.
2Et dans la saison il envoya un de ses serviteurs vers les vignerons, afin de recevoir d'eux du fruit de la vigne.
3Mais l'ayant pris, ils le battirent, et le renvoyèrent à vide.
4Il leur envoya encore un autre serviteur; mais ils lui jetèrent des pierres, et lui meurtrirent la tête, et le renvoyèrent, après l'avoir traité outrageusement.
5Et il en envoya encore un autre qu'ils tuèrent; et plusieurs autres, dont ils battirent les uns et tuèrent les autres.
6Enfin, ayant un fils qu'il chérissait, il le leur envoya le dernier, en disant: Ils auront du respect pour mon fils.
7Mais ces vignerons dirent entre eux: C'est ici l'héritier; venez, tuons-le, et l'héritage sera à nous.
8Et le prenant, ils le tuèrent et le jetèrent hors de la vigne.
9Que fera donc le maître de la vigne? Il viendra et fera périr ces vignerons, et il donnera la vigne à d'autres.
10Et n'avez-vous point lu cette parole de l'Écriture: La pierre que ceux qui bâtissaient ont rejetée, est devenue la principale pierre de l'angle?
11Cela a été fait par le Seigneur, et c'est une chose merveilleuse à nos yeux.
12Alors ils tâchèrent de le saisir; car ils connurent bien qu'il avait dit cette similitude contre eux; mais ils craignirent le peuple; c'est pourquoi le laissant, ils s'en allèrent.
13Ensuite ils lui envoyèrent quelques-uns des pharisiens et des hérodiens, pour le surprendre dans ses discours.
14Étant donc venus vers lui, ils lui dirent: Maître, nous savons que tu es sincère et que tu n'as égard à qui que ce soit; car tu ne regardes point à l'apparence des hommes, mais tu enseignes la voie de Dieu selon la vérité. Est-il permis de payer le tribut à César, ou non? Le payerons-nous, ou ne le payerons-nous pas?
15Mais lui, connaissant leur hypocrisie, leur dit: Pourquoi me tentez-vous? Apportez-moi un denier, que je le voie.
16Et ils lui en apportèrent un. Alors il leur dit: De qui est cette image et cette inscription? Ils lui dirent: De César.
17Et Jésus leur répondit: Rendez donc à César ce qui est à César, et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu. Et ils furent remplis d'admiration pour lui.
18Ensuite les sadducéens, qui disent qu'il n'y a point de résurrection, le vinrent trouver, et lui firent cette question:
19Maître, Moïse nous a ordonné que si le frère de quelqu'un meurt, et laisse sa femme sans enfants, son frère épousera sa veuve, pour susciter lignée à son frère.
20Or, il y avait sept frères. Le premier ayant épousé une femme, mourut et ne laissa point d'enfants.
21Le second l'épousa, et mourut, et ne laissa point non plus d'enfants. Et le troisième de même.
22Tous les sept l'épousèrent et ne laissèrent point d'enfants. Et la femme mourut aussi, la dernière de tous.
23Duquel d'entre eux sera-t-elle donc femme quand ils ressusciteront à la résurrection? car tous les sept l'ont eue pour femme.
24Et Jésus, répondant, leur dit: N'êtes-vous pas dans l'erreur, parce que vous n'entendez pas les Écritures, ni quelle est la puissance de Dieu?
25Car lorsqu'on ressuscitera, les hommes ne prendront point de femmes, ni les femmes de maris; mais ils seront comme les anges qui sont dans le ciel.
26Et quant à la résurrection des morts, n'avez-vous point lu dans le livre de Moïse, au buisson ardent, comment Dieu lui parla, en disant: Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d'Isaac, et le Dieu de Jacob?
27Dieu n'est point le Dieu des morts; mais le Dieu des vivants. Vous êtes donc dans une grande erreur.
28Alors un des scribes, qui les avait entendus disputer ensemble, voyant qu'il leur avait bien répondu, s'approcha et lui demanda: Quel est le premier de tous les commandements?
29Jésus lui répondit: Le premier de tous les commandements c'est: Écoute, Israël, le Seigneur notre Dieu est le seul Seigneur.
30Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta pensée, et de toute ta force. C'est là le premier commandement.
31Et voici le second qui lui est semblable: Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même. Il n'y a point d'autre commandement plus grand que ceux-ci.
32Et le scribe lui répondit: C'est bien, Maître, tu as dit avec vérité, qu'il n'y a qu'un Dieu, et qu'il n'y en a point d'autre que lui;
33Et que l'aimer de tout son cœur, de toute sa pensée, de toute son âme, et de toute sa force, et aimer son prochain comme soi-même, c'est plus que tous les holocaustes et les sacrifices.
34Jésus voyant qu'il avait répondu en homme intelligent, lui dit: Tu n'es pas éloigné du royaume de Dieu. Et personne n'osait plus l'interroger.
35Et comme Jésus enseignait dans le temple, il dit: Comment les scribes disent-ils que le Christ est Fils de David?
36Car David lui-même dit par le Saint-Esprit: Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: Assieds-toi à ma droite, jusqu'à ce que j'aie fait de tes ennemis le marchepied de tes pieds.
37Puis donc que David lui-même l'appelle Seigneur, comment est-il son fils? Et une grande multitude prenait plaisir à l'écouter.
38Il leur disait aussi, en les enseignant: Gardez-vous des scribes qui aiment à se promener en robes longues, et à être salués dans les places publiques,
39Et qui aiment les premiers sièges dans les synagogues, et les premières places dans les festins,
40Qui dévorent les maisons des veuves, tout en affectant de faire de longues prières; ils encourront une plus grande condamnation.
41Et Jésus, étant assis vis-à-vis du tronc, regardait comment le peuple mettait de l'argent dans le tronc,
42Et plusieurs riches y mettaient beaucoup; et une pauvre veuve étant venue, y mit deux petites pièces, qui font un quadrain.
43Alors, ayant appelé ses disciples, il leur dit: Je vous dis en vérité, que cette pauvre veuve a plus mis dans le tronc que tous ceux qui y ont mis.
44Car tous ont mis de leur superflu; mais celle-ci a mis de son nécessaire tout ce qu'elle possédait, tout ce qu'elle avait pour vivre.

1Y COMENZÓ á hablarles por parábolas: Plantó un hombre una viña, y la cercó con seto, y cavó un lagar, y edificó una torre, y la arrendó á labradores, y se partió lejos.
2Y envió un siervo á los labradores, al tiempo, para que tomase de los labradores del fruto de la viña.
3Mas ellos, tomándole, le hirieron, y le enviaron vacío.
4Y volvió á enviarles otro siervo; mas apedreándole, le hirieron en la cabeza, y volvieron á enviarle afrentado.
5Y volvió á enviar otro, y á aquél mataron; y á otros muchos, hiriendo á unos y matando á otros.
6Teniendo pues aún un hijo suyo amado, enviólo también á ellos el postrero, diciendo: Tendrán en reverencia á mi hijo.
7Mas aquellos labradores dijeron entre sí: Este es el heredero; venid, matémosle, y la heredad será nuestra.
8Y prendiéndole, le mataron, y echaron fuera de la viña.
9¿Qué, pues, hará el señor de la viña? Vendrá, y destruirá á estos labradores, y dará su viña á otros.
10¿Ni aun esta Escritura habéis leído: La piedra que desecharon los que edificaban, ésta es puesta por cabeza de esquina;
11Por el Señor es hecho esto, y es cosa maravillosa en nuestros ojos?
12Y procuraban prenderle, porque entendían que decía á ellos aquella parábola; mas temían á la multitud; y dejándole, se fueron.
13Y envían á él algunos de los Fariseos y de los Herodianos, para que le sorprendiesen en alguna palabra.
14Y viniendo ellos, le dicen: Maestro, sabemos que eres hombre de verdad, y que no te cuidas de nadie; porque no miras á la apariencia de hombres, antes con verdad enseñas el camino de Dios: ¿Es lícito dar tributo á César, ó no? ¿Daremos, ó no daremos?
15Entonces él, como entendía la hipocresía de ellos, les dijo: ¿Por qué me tentáis? Traedme la moneda para que la vea.
16Y ellos se la trajeron y les dice: ¿Cúya es esta imagen y esta inscripción? Y ellos le dijeron: De César.
17Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Dad lo que es de César á César; y lo que es de Dios, á Dios. Y se maravillaron de ello.
18Entonces vienen á él los Saduceos, que dicen que no hay resurrección, y le preguntaron, diciendo:
19Maestro, Moisés nos escribió, que si el hermano de alguno muriese, y dejase mujer, y no dejase hijos, que su hermano tome su mujer, y levante linaje á su hermano.
20Fueron siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y muriendo, no dejó simiente;
21Y la tomó el segundo, y murió, y ni aquél tampoco dejó simiente; y el tercero, de la misma manera.
22Y la tomaron los siete, y tampoco dejaron simiente: á la postre murió también la mujer.
23En la resurrección, pues, cuando resucitaren, ¿de cuál de ellos será mujer? porque los siete la tuvieron por mujer.
24Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dice: ¿No erráis por eso, porque no sabéis las Escrituras, ni la potencia de Dios?
25Porque cuando resucitarán de los muertos, ni se casarán, ni serán dados en casamiento, mas son como los ángeles que están en los cielos.
26Y de que los muertos hayan de resucitar, ¿no habéis leído en el libro de Moisés cómo le habló Dios en la zarza, diciendo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob?
27No es Dios de muertos, mas Dios de vivos; así que vosotros mucho erráis.
28Y llegándose uno de los escribas, que los había oído disputar, y sabía que les había respondido bien, le preguntó: ¿Cuál es el primer mandamiento de todos?
29Y Jesús le respondió: El primer mandamiento de todos es: Oye, Israel, el Señor nuestro Dios, el Señor uno es.
30Amarás pues al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de toda tu mente, y de todas tus fuerzas; este es el principal mandamiento.
31Y el segundo es semejante á él: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo. No hay otro mandamiento mayor que éstos.
32Entonces el escriba le dijo: Bien, Maestro, verdad has dicho, que uno es Dios, y no hay otro fuera de él;
33Y que amarle de todo corazón, y de todo entendimiento, y de toda el alma, y de todas las fuerzas, y amar al prójimo como á sí mismo, más es que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios.
34Jesús entonces, viendo que había respondido sabiamente, le dice: No estás lejos del reino de Dios. Y ya ninguno osaba preguntarle.
35Y respondiendo Jesús decía, enseñando en el templo: ¿Cómo dicen los escribas que el Cristo es hijo de David?
36Porque el mismo David dijo por el Espíritu Santo: Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra, hasta que ponga tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies.
37Luego llamándole el mismo David Señor, ¿de dónde, pues, es su hijo? Y los que eran del común del pueblo le oían de buena gana.
38Y les decía en su doctrina: Guardaos de los escribas, que quieren andar con ropas largas, y aman las salutaciones en las plazas,
39Y las primeras sillas en las sinagogas, y los primeros asientos en las cenas;
40Que devoran las casas de las viudas, y por pretexto hacen largas oraciones. Estos recibirán mayor juicio.
41Y estando sentado Jesús delante del arca de la ofrenda, miraba cómo el pueblo echaba dinero en el arca: y muchos ricos echaban mucho.
42Y como vino una viuda pobre, echó dos blancas, que son un maravedí.
43Entonces llamando á sus discípulos, les dice: De cierto os digo que esta viuda pobre echó más que todos los que han echado en el arca:
44Porque todos han echado de lo que les sobra; mas ésta, de su pobreza echó todo lo que tenía, todo su alimento.

1And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
2And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
3And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
4And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
5And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.
6Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
7But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
8And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
10And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
11This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
12And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
13And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
14And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cæsar, or not?
15Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
16And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Cæsar’s.
17And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Cæsar the things that are Cæsar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.
18Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
19Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man’s brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
20Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
21And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
22And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
23In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
24And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
25For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
26And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
28And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
32And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
33And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
34And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
35And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?
36For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
37David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
38And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,
39And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:
40Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.
41And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

1He began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the wine press, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country.
2When it was time, he sent a servant to the farmer to get from the farmer his share of the fruit of the vineyard.
3They took him, beat him, and sent him away empty.
4Again, he sent another servant to them; and they threw stones at him, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.
5Again he sent another, and they killed him, and many others, beating some, and killing some.
6Therefore still having one, his beloved son, he sent him last to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
7But those farmers said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’
8They took him, killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.
10Haven’t you even read this Scripture: ‘The stone which the builders rejected was made the head of the corner.
11This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes’?”
12They tried to seize him, but they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spoke the parable against them. They left him and went away.
13They sent some of the Pharisees and the Herodians to him, that they might trap him with words.
14When they had come, they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don’t defer to anyone; for you aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
15Shall we give, or shall we not give?” But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, that I may see it.”
16They brought it. He said to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.”
17Jesus answered them, “Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” They marveled greatly at him.
18Some Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection, came to him. They asked him, saying,
19“Teacher, Moses wrote to us, ‘If a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.’
20There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying left no offspring.
21The second took her, and died, leaving no children behind him. The third likewise;
22and the seven took her and left no children. Last of all the woman also died.
23In the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be of them? For the seven had her as a wife.”
24Jesus answered them, “Isn’t this because you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God?
25For when they will rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
26But about the dead, that they are raised, haven’t you read in the book of Moses about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
27He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are therefore badly mistaken.”
28One of the scribes came and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the greatest of all?”
29Jesus answered, “The greatest is: ‘Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
30You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
31The second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
32The scribe said to him, “Truly, teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he;
33and to love him with all the heart, with all the understanding, all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
34When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from God’s Kingdom.” No one dared ask him any question after that.
35Jesus responded, as he taught in the temple, “How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David?
36For David himself said in the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’
37Therefore David himself calls him Lord, so how can he be his son?” The common people heard him gladly.
38In his teaching he said to them, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and to get greetings in the marketplaces,
39and to get the best seats in the synagogues and the best places at feasts,
40those who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
41Jesus sat down opposite the treasury and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.
42A poor widow came and she cast in two small brass coins, which equal a quadrans coin.
43He called his disciples to himself and said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, this poor widow gave more than all those who are giving into the treasury,
44for they all gave out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, gave all that she had to live on.”
