1Et quand ils arrivent près de Jérusalem, à Bedphagé et à Béthanie, vers la montagne des Oliviers, il dépêche deux de ses disciples,
2et leur dit : « Allez dans le village, qui est en face de vous, et dès que vous y serez entrés vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel aucun homme ne s'est encore assis ; détachez-le et amenez-le ;
3et si quelqu'un vous dit : Pourquoi faites-vous cela ? dites : Le Seigneur en a besoin, et il le renvoie aussitôt ici. »
4Et ils s'en allèrent, et ils trouvèrent un ânon attaché près d'une porte, au dehors, sur la place, et ils le détachèrent ;
5et quelques-uns de ceux qui se trouvaient là leur disaient : « Pourquoi détachez-vous cet ânon ? »
6Et eux leur répondirent comme Jésus l'avait dit ; et ils les laissèrent faire.
7Et ils amènent l'ânon à Jésus, et ils jettent sur lui leurs manteaux, et il s'assit sur lui ;
8et plusieurs étendirent leurs manteaux sur le chemin, et d'autres des rameaux qu'ils avaient coupés dans les champs ;
9et ceux qui précédaient et ceux qui suivaient s'écriaient :« Hosanna ! Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur !
10Béni soit le royaume qui arrive de notre père David ! Hosanna dans les lieux très hauts ! »
11Et il entra à Jérusalem dans le temple ; et après avoir porté ses regards sur tout ce qui l'entourait, comme le soir était déjà venu, il repartit pour Béthanie avec les douze.
12Et le lendemain, après qu'ils furent sortis de Béthanie, il eut faim ;
13et ayant vu de loin un figuier couvert de feuilles, il s'approcha pour voir si peut-être il y trouverait quelque chose ; et après s'en être approché il n'y trouva rien que des feuilles, car ce n'était pas le moment des figues.
14Et prenant la parole, il lui dit : « Que personne ne mange plus jamais de toi aucun fruit. » Et ses disciples l'entendaient.
15Et ils arrivent à Jérusalem. Et lorsqu'il fut entré dans le temple, il se mit à expulser ceux qui vendaient et ceux qui achetaient dans le temple, et il renversa les tables des changeurs, et les sièges de ceux qui vendaient les colombes ;
16et il ne permettait pas que personne transportât aucun ustensile au travers du temple ;
17et il enseignait et disait : « N'est-il pas écrit : Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière par toutes les nations ; mais vous, vous en avez fait une caverne de brigands ? »
18Et les grands prêtres et les scribes l'entendirent, et ils cherchaient comment ils pourraient le faire périr ; car ils le craignaient, parce que toute la foule était stupéfaite de son enseignement.
19Et lorsque le soir fut venu, ils sortaient de la ville.
20Et en repassant le matin, ils virent le figuier séché jusques aux racines.
21Et Pierre s'étant ressouvenu lui dit : « Rabbi, regarde, le figuier que tu as maudit a séché. »
22Et Jésus leur réplique : « Ayez foi en Dieu !
23En vérité je vous déclare que celui qui aura dit à cette montagne : Déplace-toi et te jette dans la mer ; et qui n'aura point douté en son cœur, mais qui croit que ce qu'il dit se fait, cela se réalisera pour lui.
24C'est pourquoi je vous le déclare : tout ce que vous implorez et demandez, croyez que vous l'avez reçu, et cela se réalisera pour vous.
25Et lorsque vous serez debout pour prier, pardonnez si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu'un, afin que votre Père aussi qui est dans les cieux vous pardonne vos fautes. » [
26Mais si vous ne pardonnez pas, votre Père qui est dans le cieux, ne vous pardonnera pas non plus vos fautes.]
27Et ils arrivent derechef à Jérusalem, et pendant qu'il se promenait lui-même dans le temple les grands prêtres et les scribes et les anciens viennent à lui,
28et ils lui disaient : « En vertu de quelle autorité fais-tu ces choses ? Ou qui est-ce qui t'a donné cette autorité pour faire ces choses ? »
29Mais Jésus leur dit : « Je vous adresserai une seule question ; et répondez-moi, et je vous dirai en vertu de quelle autorité je fais ces choses.
30Le baptême de Jean venait-il du ciel ou des hommes ? Répondez-moi. »
31Et ils réfléchissaient entre eux, en disant : « Si nous disons : du ciel, il dira : Pourquoi donc ne l'avez-vous pas cru ?
32Au contraire, disons-nous : des hommes ?… » Ils craignaient la foule, car tous tenaient Jean pour avoir été réellement un prophète.
33Et ils répliquent à Jésus : « Nous ne savons. » Et Jésus leur dit : « Moi non plus je ne vous dis pas en vertu de quelle autorité je fais ces choses. »

1Y COMO fueron cerca de Jerusalem, de Bethphagé, y de Bethania, al monte de las Olivas, envía dos de sus discípulos,
2Y les dice: Id al lugar que está delante de vosotros, y luego entrados en él, hallaréis un pollino atado, sobre el cual ningún hombre ha subido; desatadlo y traedlo.
3Y si alguien os dijere: ¿Por qué hacéis eso? decid que el Señor lo ha menester: y luego lo enviará acá.
4Y fueron, y hallaron el pollino atado á la puerta fuera, entre dos caminos; y le desataron.
5Y unos de los que estaban allí, les dijeron: ¿Qué hacéis desatando el pollino?
6Ellos entonces les dijeron como Jesús había mandado: y los dejaron.
7Y trajeron el pollino á Jesús, y echaron sobre él sus vestidos, y se sentó sobre él.
8Y muchos tendían sus vestidos por el camino, y otros cortaban hojas de los árboles, y las tendían por el camino.
9Y los que iban delante, y los que iban detrás, daban voces diciendo: ¡Hosanna! Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor.
10Bendito el reino de nuestro padre David que viene: ¡Hosanna en las alturas!
11Y entró Jesús en Jerusalem, y en el templo: y habiendo mirado alrededor todas las cosas, y siendo ya tarde, salióse á Bethania con los doce.
12Y el día siguiente, como salieron de Bethania, tuvo hambre.
13Y viendo de lejos una higuera que tenía hojas, se acercó, si quizá hallaría en ella algo: y como vino á ella, nada halló sino hojas; porque no era tiempo de higos.
14Entonces Jesús respondiendo, dijo á la higuera: Nunca más coma nadie fruto de ti para siempre. Y lo oyeron sus discípulos.
15Vienen, pues, á Jerusalem; y entrando Jesús en el templo, comenzó á echar fuera á los que vendían y compraban en el templo; y trastornó las mesas de los cambistas, y las sillas de los que vendían palomas;
16Y no consentía que alguien llevase vaso por el templo.
17Y les enseñaba diciendo: ¿No está escrito que mi casa, casa de oración será llamada por todas las gentes? Mas vosotros la habéis hecho cueva de ladrones.
18Y lo oyeron los escribas y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y procuraban cómo le matarían; porque le tenían miedo, por cuanto todo el pueblo estaba maravillado de su doctrina.
19Mas como fué tarde, Jesús salió de la ciudad.
20Y pasando por la mañana, vieron que la higuera se había secado desde las raíces.
21Entonces Pedro acordándose, le dice: Maestro, he aquí la higuera que maldijiste, se ha secado.
22Y respondiendo Jesús, les dice: Tened fe en Dios.
23Porque de cierto os digo que cualquiera que dijere á este monte: Quítate, y échate en la mar, y no dudare en su corazón, mas creyere que será hecho lo que dice, lo que dijere le será hecho.
24Por tanto, os digo que todo lo que orando pidiereis, creed que lo recibiréis, y os vendrá.
25Y cuando estuviereis orando, perdonad, si tenéis algo contra alguno, para que vuestro Padre que está en los cielos os perdone también á vosotros vuestras ofensas.
26Porque si vosotros no perdonareis, tampoco vuestro Padre que está en los cielos os perdonará vuestras ofensas.
27Y volvieron á Jerusalem; y andando él por el templo, vienen á él los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los ancianos;
28Y le dicen: ¿Con qué facultad haces estas cosas? ¿y quién te ha dado esta facultad para hacer estas cosas?
29Y Jesús respondiendo entonces, les dice: Os preguntaré también yo una palabra; y respondedme, y os diré con qué facultad hago estas cosas:
30El bautismo de Juan, ¿era del cielo, ó de los hombres? Respondedme.
31Entonces ellos pensaron dentro de sí, diciendo: Si dijéremos, del cielo, dirá: ¿Por qué, pues, no le creísteis?
32Y si dijéremos, de los hombres, tememos al pueblo: porque todos juzgaban de Juan, que verdaderamente era profeta.
33Y respondiendo, dicen á Jesús: No sabemos. Entonces respondiendo Jesús, les dice: Tampoco yo os diré con qué facultad hago estas cosas.

1And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
2And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
3And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
4And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
5And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
6And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
7And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
8And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:
10Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
11And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
12And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
15And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
16And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
17And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
18And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
19And when even was come, he went out of the city.
20And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
27And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
28And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
29And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.
31And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
32But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
33And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
World English Bible
1When they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples
2and said to them, “Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him and bring him.
3If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs him;’ and immediately he will send him back here.”
4They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.
5Some of those who stood there asked them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”
6They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.
7They brought the young donkey to Jesus and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.
8Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees and spreading them on the road.
9Those who went in front and those who followed cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
10Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
11Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
12The next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he was hungry.
13Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
14Jesus told it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” and his disciples heard it.
15They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus entered into the temple and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers’ tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.
16He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.
17He taught, saying to them, “Isn’t it written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers!”
18The chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.
19When evening came, he went out of the city.
20As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.
21Peter, remembering, said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”
22Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.
23For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening, he shall have whatever he says.
24Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them.
25Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.
26But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions.”
27They came again to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to him,
28and they began saying to him, “By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”
29Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30The baptism of John—was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me.”
31They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we should say, ‘From heaven;’ he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’
32If we should say, ‘From men’”—they feared the people, for all held John to really be a prophet.
33They answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
