1Er machte sich auf und zog in die Gegend von Judäa und über den Jordan. Und wieder sammelten sich bei ihm große Scharen, und wie gewöhnlich lehrte er sie wieder.
2Da traten zu ihm Pharisäer, versuchten ihn und fragten, ob es dem Mann erlaubt sei, daß er sein Weib entlasse.
3Er sprach zu ihnen: "Was hat euch Moses geboten?"
4Sie sprachen: "Moses hat erlaubt, einen Scheidebrief zu schreiben und alsdann zu entlassen."
5Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Nur eurer Herzenshärte wegen hat er dieses Gebot für euch geschrieben.
6Doch im Anfang der Schöpfung schuf sie Gott als Mann und Weib.
7So wird der Mann Vater und Mutter verlassen und sich seinem Weibe verbinden,
8und diese zwei werden zu einem Fleische werden. So sind sie also nicht mehr zwei, vielmehr sind sie ein einziges Fleisch.
9Was aber Gott vereinigt hat, das soll der Mensch nicht trennen."
10Zu Hause fragten ihn dann seine Jünger noch einmal darüber.
11Er sprach zu ihnen: "Wer sein Weib entläßt und eine andere heiratet, bricht ihr die Ehe;
12und wenn sie ihren Mann entläßt und einen anderen heiratet, bricht sie die Ehe."
13Man brachte zu ihm Kinder, damit er sie berühre. Allein die Jünger fuhren jene, die sie brachten, an.
14Als Jesus dies bemerkte, ward er unwillig und sprach zu ihnen: "Laßt die Kinder zu mir kommen, wehrt es ihnen nicht; für solche ist das Reich Gottes!
15Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer das Reich Gottes nicht aufnimmt wie ein Kind, kommt sicherlich nicht hinein."
16Dann schloß er sie in seine Arme, legte ihnen seine Hände auf und gab ihnen den Segen.
17Er machte sich wieder auf den Weg, da lief einer auf ihn zu, fiel vor ihm auf die Knie und fragte ihn: "Guter Meister, was muß ich tun, um das ewige Leben zu erwerben?"
18Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Was nennst du mich 'gut'? Niemand ist gut als Gott allein.
19Du kennst die Gebote: 'Du sollst nicht töten!' 'Du sollst nicht ehebrechen!' 'Du sollst nicht stehlen!' 'Du sollst kein falsches Zeugnis geben!' 'Du sollst nicht betrügen!' 'Du sollst Vater und Mutter ehren!'"
20Doch dieser sprach zu ihm: "All dies, Meister, habe ich von Jugend auf gehalten."
21Und Jesus schaute ihn liebevoll an und sprach zu ihm: "Eines fehlt dir noch. Geh hin, verkaufe, was du hast, und schenke es den Armen; du wirst dann einen Schatz im Himmel haben. Dann komm und folge mir und trage dein Kreuz."
22Bei diesen Worten ward er kleinmütig und ging betrübt von dannen, denn er besaß viele Güter.
23Da schaute Jesus sich um und sprach zu seinen Jüngern: "Wie schwer geht es doch, daß die Reichen in das Reich Gottes gelangen!"
24Die Jünger waren über seine Worte sehr betroffen. Doch Jesus sprach noch einmal zu ihnen: "Kinder! Wie schwer ist es doch für die, die auf ihr Geld vertrauen, in das Reich Gottes zu kommen!
25Viel leichter geht ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr, als ein Reicher in das Reich Gottes."
26Darauf erschraken sie noch mehr und sagten zueinander: "Wer kann da noch gerettet werden?"
27Da sah sie Jesus an und sprach zu ihnen: "Bei den Menschen ist dies freilich unmöglich, doch nicht bei Gott; bei Gott ist alles möglich."
28Da nahm Petrus das Wort und sprach: "Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen und sind dir nachgefolgt."
29Und Jesus sprach: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer immer Haus, Brüder oder Schwestern, Mutter, Vater oder Kinder oder Äcker verläßt um meinetwillen und des Evangeliums wegen,
30wird es hundertfach zurückerhalten: in dieser Welt an Häusern, an Brüdern, Schwestern, Müttern, Kindern und an Äckern, allerdings unter Verfolgung, und in der anderen Welt das ewige Leben.
31Viele Erste werden Letzte und viele Letzte werden Erste sein."
32Sie befanden sich auf dem Weg nach Jerusalem hinauf, und Jesus war ihnen stets weit voran, so daß sie sich entsetzten; sie folgten ihm, jedoch mit bangem Herzen. Er nahm die Zwölf wieder zu sich und begann mit ihnen über das zu sprechen, was ihm begegnen werde:
33"Seht, wir ziehen nach Jerusalem hinauf. Der Menschensohn wird den Oberpriestern und den Schriftgelehrten und Ältesten ausgeliefert werden, sie werden ihn zum Tod verdammen und ihn den Heiden übergeben.
34Sie werden ihn verspotten und anspeien, geißeln und töten; doch nach drei Tagen wird er auferstehen."
35Da traten Jakobus und Johannes, die Zebedäussöhne, zu ihm hin und sprachen: "Meister, wir möchten, daß du uns gewährst, um was wir dich bitten.
36Er sprach zu ihnen: "Was soll ich euch tun?"
37Sie antworteten ihm: "Verleihe uns, daß wir in deiner Herrlichkeit der eine dir zur Rechten, der andere dir zur Linken sitzen."
38Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Ihr wißt nicht, um was ihr bittet. Könnt ihr den Kelch trinken, den ich trinken muß, die Taufe, die ich empfange, auch empfangen?"
39Sie sagten ihm: "Wir können es." Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Den Kelch, den ich trinke, werdet ihr zwar trinken, und auch die Taufe empfangen, die ich empfange,
40die Sitze zu meiner Rechten und zu meiner Linken aber, die kann ich nicht vergeben; denn sie gehören denen, für die sie schon bestimmt sind."
41Als die anderen zehn das hörten, wurden sie unwillig über Jakobus und Johannes.
42Doch Jesus rief sie zu sich her und sprach zu ihnen: "Ihr wißt: Die als Fürsten der Heidenvölker gelten, wollen über ihre Völker den Herrn spielen, und ihre Großen lassen sie ihre Macht fühlen.
43Bei euch ist es aber nicht so; sondern wer unter euch ein Großer werden will, sei euer Diener,
44und wer unter euch Erster sein will, sei der Knecht aller,
45wie auch der Menschensohn nicht gekommen ist, bedient zu werden, vielmehr zu dienen, ja, sein Leben hinzuopfern als Lösegeld für viele."
46So kamen sie nach Jericho. Als er mit seinen Jüngern und mit vielem Volke Jericho verließ, saß der Sohn des Timäus, der Bartimäus, ein blinder Bettler, am Wege.
47Als er vernahm: Jesus von Nazareth ist es, begann er laut zu schreien und zu rufen: "Sohn Davids, Jesus, erbarme dich meiner!"
48Da fuhren ihn viele an, er solle schweigen. Er aber rief nur um so lauter: "Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner!"
49Darauf blieb Jesus stehen und sprach: "Ruft ihn her!" Da riefen sie den Blinden her und sagten ihm: "Sei guten Muts! Steh auf! Er ruft dich."
50Da warf er seinen Mantel ab, sprang auf und kam zu Jesus.
51Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Was soll ich dir tun?" Der Blinde sprach zu ihm: "Rabbuni, ich möchte wieder sehen können."
52Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Geh hin, dein Glaube hat dir geholfen." Und sogleich konnte er sehen und folgte ihm auf dem Wege.

1Y PARTIÉNDOSE de allí, vino á los términos de Judea y tras el Jordán: y volvió el pueblo á juntarse á él; y de nuevo les enseñaba como solía.
2Y llegándose los Fariseos, le preguntaron, para tentarle, si era lícito al marido repudiar á su mujer.
3Mas él respondiendo, les dijo: ¿Qué os mandó Moisés?
4Y ellos dijeron: Moisés permitió escribir carta de divorcio, y repudiar.
5Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón os escribió este mandamiento;
6Pero al principio de la creación, varón y hembra los hizo Dios.
7Por esto dejará el hombre á su padre y á su madre, y se juntará á su mujer.
8Y los que eran dos, serán hechos una carne: así que no son más dos, sino una carne.
9Pues lo que Dios juntó, no lo aparte el hombre.
10Y en casa volvieron los discípulos á preguntarle de lo mismo.
11Y les dice: Cualquiera que repudiare á su mujer, y se casare con otra, comete adulterio contra ella:
12Y si la mujer repudiare á su marido y se casare con otro, comete adulterio.
13Y le presentaban niños para que los tocase; y los discípulos reñían á los que los presentaban.
14Y viéndolo Jesús, se enojó, y les dijo: Dejad los niños venir, y no se lo estorbéis; porque de los tales es el reino de Dios.
15De cierto os digo, que el que no recibiere el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él.
16Y tomándolos en los brazos, poniendo las manos sobre ellos, los bendecía.
17Y saliendo él para ir su camino, vino uno corriendo, é hincando la rodilla delante de él, le preguntó: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para poseer la vida eterna?
18Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me dices bueno? Ninguno hay bueno, sino sólo uno, Dios.
19Los mandamientos sabes: No adulteres: No mates: No hurtes: No digas falso testimonio: No defraudes: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre.
20El entonces respondiendo, le dijo: Maestro, todo esto he guardado desde mi mocedad.
21Entonces Jesús mirándole, amóle, y díjole: Una cosa te falta: ve, vende todo lo que tienes, y da á los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme, tomando tu cruz.
22Mas él, entristecido por esta palabra, se fué triste, porque tenía muchas posesiones.
23Entonces Jesús, mirando alrededor, dice á sus discípulos: ¡Cuán difícilmente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!
24Y los discípulos se espantaron de sus palabras; mas Jesús respondiendo, les volvió á decir: ¡Hijos, cuán difícil es entrar en el reino de Dios, los que confían en las riquezas!
25Más fácil es pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que el rico entrar en el reino de Dios.
26Y ellos se espantaban más, diciendo dentro de sí: ¿Y quién podrá salvarse?
27Entonces Jesús mirándolos, dice: Para los hombres es imposible; mas para Dios, no; porque todas las cosas son posibles para Dios.
28Entonces Pedro comenzó á decirle: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado todas las cosas, y te hemos seguido.
29Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no hay ninguno que haya dejado casa, ó hermanos, ó hermanas, ó padre, ó madre, ó mujer, ó hijos, ó heredades, por causa de mí y del evangelio,
30Que no reciba cien tantos ahora en este tiempo, casas, y hermanos, y hermanas, y madres, é hijos, y heredades, con persecuciones; y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna.
31Empero muchos primeros serán postreros, y postreros primeros.
32Y estaban en el camino subiendo á Jerusalem; y Jesús iba delante de ellos, y se espantaban, y le seguían con miedo: entonces volviendo á tomar á los doce aparte, les comenzó á decir las cosas que le habían de acontecer:
33He aquí subimos á Jerusalem, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado á los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y á los escribas, y le condenarán á muerte, y le entregarán á los Gentiles:
34Y le escarnecerán, y le azotarán, y escupirán en él, y le matarán; mas al tercer día resucitará.
35Entonces Jacobo y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, se llegaron á él, diciendo: Maestro, querríamos que nos hagas lo que pidiéremos.
36Y él les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que os haga?
37Y ellos le dijeron: Danos que en tu gloria nos sentemos el uno á tu diestra, y el otro á tu siniestra.
38Entonces Jesús les dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber del vaso que yo bebo, ó ser bautizados del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado?
39Y ellos dijeron: Podemos. Y Jesús les dijo: A la verdad, del vaso que yo bebo, beberéis; y del bautismo de que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados.
40Mas que os sentéis á mi diestra y á mi siniestra, no es mío darlo, sino á quienes está aparejado.
41Y como lo oyeron los diez, comenzaron á enojarse de Jacobo y de Juan.
42Mas Jesús, llamándolos, les dice: Sabéis que los que se ven ser príncipes entre las gentes, se enseñorean de ellas, y los que entre ellas son grandes, tienen sobre ellas potestad.
43Mas no será así entre vosotros: antes cualquiera que quisiere hacerse grande entre vosotros, será vuestro servidor;
44Y cualquiera de vosotros que quisiere hacerse el primero, será siervo de todos.
45Porque el Hijo del hombre tampoco vino para ser servido, mas para servir, y dar su vida en rescate por muchos.
46Entonces vienen á Jericó: y saliendo él de Jericó y sus discípulos y una gran compañía, Bartimeo el ciego, hijo de Timeo, estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando.
47Y oyendo que era Jesús el Nazareno, comenzó á dar voces y decir: Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
48Y muchos le reñían, que callase: mas él daba mayores voces: Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
49Entonces Jesús parándose, mandó llamarle: y llaman al ciego, diciéndole: Ten confianza: levántate, te llama.
50El entonces, echando su capa, se levantó, y vino á Jesús.
51Y respondiendo Jesús, le dice: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y el ciego le dice: Maestro, que cobre la vista.
52Y Jesús le dijo: Ve, tu fe te ha salvado. Y luego cobró la vista, y seguía á Jesús en el camino.

1And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
2And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
3And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
4And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
5And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
6But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
9What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
10And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.
11And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
12And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
13And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
17And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
28Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,
30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
32And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
33Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
34And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
35And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
36And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
37They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
39And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
40But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
41And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
42But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
43But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
44And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
45For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
46And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus, sat by the highway side begging.
47And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
48And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
49And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
50And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
51And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
52And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

1He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.
2Pharisees came to him testing him, and asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
3He answered, “What did Moses command you?”
4They said, “Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her.”
5But Jesus said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.
6But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.
7For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,
8and the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
10In the house, his disciples asked him again about the same matter.
11He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.
12If a woman herself divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.”
13They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.
14But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
15Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
16He took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
17As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
18Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.
19You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’”
20He said to him, “Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth.”
21Jesus looking at him loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”
22But his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.
23Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!”
24The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
25It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
26They were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, “Then who can be saved?”
27Jesus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.”

32They were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.
33“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.
34They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
35James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”
36He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
37They said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand and one at your left hand, in your glory.”
38But Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”
39They said to him, “We are able.” Jesus said to them, “You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;
40but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”
41When the ten heard it, they began to be indignant toward James and John.
42Jesus summoned them and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.
43But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.
44Whoever of you wants to become first among you shall be bondservant of all.
45For the Son of Man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
46They came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
47When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
48Many rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
49Jesus stood still and said, “Call him.” They called the blind man, saying to him, “Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!”
50He, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
51Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “Rabboni, that I may see again.”
52Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.
