In quel giorno sarà composta sopra di voi una parabola, e si canterà questa flebile canzona, e dirassi; Noi siamo stati saccheggiati, e desolati: il retaggio del popol mio ha cangiato di (padrone): come si ritirerà colui da me, mentre ritorna, che dividerà i nostri terreni?

Per questo tu non avrai chi misuri colla corda le porzioni alla adunanza del Signore.
Por tanto, no tendrás quien eche cordel para suerte en la congregación de Jehová.

La casa di Giacobbe va' dicendo: È egli forse abbreviato lo spirito del Signore, o son eglino tali i suoi pensieri? Ma non parlo io con benignità a quelli, che camminano nella rettitudine?
La que te dices casa de Jacob, ¿hase acortado el espíritu de Jehová? ¿son éstas sus obras? ¿Mis palabras no hacen bien al que camina derechamente?
O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?
Shall it be said, O house of Jacob, “Is the LORD’s Spirit angry? Are these his doings? Don’t my words do good to him who walks blamelessly?”
Ma per il contrario il mio popolo ha alzata bandiera di nemico: voi avete rubato e tonaca, e mantello; e quelli, che passavano senza far male, gli avete costretti a far guerra.
El que ayer era mi pueblo, se ha levantado como enemigo: tras las vestiduras quitasteis las capas atrevidamente á los que pasaban, como los que vuelven de la guerra.
Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.

Le donne del popol mio discacciaste dalle case, dove viveano contente: e a' loro pargoletti chiudeste la bocca perchè non mi lodasser mai più.
