1Então Jesus subiu num barco e atravessou o mar para ir a Cafarnaum, a cidade onde morava.
2Logo alguns homens lhe trouxeram numa esteira um rapaz paralítico. Quando Jesus viu a fé que eles tinham, disse ao paralítico: “Anime-se, filho! Porque os seus pecados estão perdoados!”
3“Blasfêmia! Esse homem está dizendo que é Deus!”, disseram a si mesmos alguns mestres da lei.
4Jesus sabia o que eles estavam pensando e perguntou: “Por que vocês estão com esses pensamentos ruins?
5Que é mais fácil dizer: ‘Os seus pecados estão perdoados’ ou: ‘Levante-se e ande’?
6Mas, para provar que o Filho do Homem tem autoridade aqui na terra para perdoar pecados” — voltando-se para o rapaz paralítico — disse: “Levante-se, enrole a sua esteira e caminhe para casa!”
7E ele levantou-se e foi para casa!
8Um arrepio de medo passou pela multidão quando viu isso acontecer bem diante dos seus olhos e louvaram a Deus por ter dado tal autoridade aos seres humanos!
9Quando Jesus descia a estrada, viu um cobrador de impostos, chamado Mateus, sentado na coletoria. “Venha tornar-se meu discípulo”, disse-lhe Jesus, e Mateus levantou-se e o acompanhou.
10Mais tarde, quando Jesus e seus discípulos almoçavam na casa de Mateus, muitos cobradores de impostos e “pecadores” estavam lá como convidados!
11Os fariseus ficaram indignados. “Por que o mestre de vocês come com homens como esses cobradores de impostos e ‘pecadores’?”
12“As pessoas que têm saúde não precisam de médico, mas sim os doentes”, foi a resposta de Jesus.
13Depois ele acrescentou: “Vão aprender o significado deste versículo da Escritura: ‘Não são os sacrifícios de vocês que me interessam — mas que tenham misericórdia’! Meu trabalho aqui na terra é chamar os pecadores, e não aqueles que se acham bons, para que voltem para Deus”.
14Um dia os discípulos de João Batista vieram a Jesus e lhe perguntaram: “Por que os seus discípulos não jejuam, como nós fazemos, e como fazem os fariseus?”
15“Os convidados do noivo devem chorar enquanto ele está com eles?”, perguntou Jesus. “Vai chegar o tempo em que o noivo será tirado deles; então jejuarão.
16“E quem remendaria uma roupa velha com um pano novo? O remendo rasgaria a roupa e tornaria o buraco ainda maior.
17E quem usaria vasilhas de couro velhas para guardar vinho novo? Pois as vasilhas velhas arrebentariam com a pressão, o vinho se derramaria e as vasilhas se estragariam. Para guardar vinho novo só se usam vasilhas de couro novas. Desta maneira, ambos se conservam”.
18Enquanto ele estava dizendo isso, o chefe da sinagoga local chegou, ajoelhou-se diante de Jesus e disse: “Minha filhinha acaba de morrer. Porém o Senhor pode fazer com que volte à vida, se somente vier e tocá-la”.
19Jesus e os discípulos foram para a casa dele.
20No caminho, uma mulher que durante doze anos vinha sofrendo de uma hemorragia, veio por trás dele e tocou na barra do seu manto,
21pois ela pensava: “Se eu apenas tocar em seu manto, serei curada”.
22Jesus voltou-se e falou com ela. “Filha”, disse ele, “anime-se! A sua fé a curou”. E a mulher ficou curada a partir daquele momento.
23Quando Jesus chegou à casa do chefe da sinagoga e viu as multidões barulhentas e ouviu a música do enterro,
24disse: “Ponham todos para fora, porque a menina não está morta; ela só está dormindo!” Então, começaram a zombar e caçoar dele!
25Quando a multidão finalmente saiu, Jesus entrou e tomou a menina pela mão, e ela se levantou e viveu novamente!
26A notícia a respeito desse acontecimento espalhou-se por toda a região.
27Quando Jesus estava saindo da casa da menina, dois cegos apareceram gritando: “Ó Filho de Davi, tenha piedade de nós”.
28Eles foram até a casa onde ele morava, e Jesus lhes perguntou: “Vocês creem que eu posso fazê-los enxergar?” “Sim, Senhor”, disseram eles, “nós cremos”.
29Então ele pôs a mão nos olhos deles e disse: “Que seja feito a vocês conforme a fé que vocês têm!”
30E eles puderam ver! Jesus avisou os dois energicamente para que não contassem isso a ninguém.
31Eles, porém, espalharam sua fama pela cidade inteira.
32Deixando aquele lugar, Jesus encontrou um homem que não podia falar porque estava endemoninhado.
33Jesus expulsou o demônio, e imediatamente o homem começou a falar. Como as multidões ficaram maravilhadas! “Nunca se viu nada parecido em Israel!”, exclamavam todos.
34Mas os fariseus diziam: “É o príncipe dos demônios que dá poder a ele para expulsar demônios!”
35Jesus andava por todas as cidades e vilas daquela região, ensinando nas sinagogas dos judeus e anunciando as boas-novas do Reino. Em todo lugar aonde ele ia, curava as pessoas de todas as enfermidades e doenças.
36Ao ver as multidões ficou com pena delas, porque estavam aflitas e desamparadas, como ovelhas sem pastor!
37“A colheita é grande, mas os trabalhadores são tão poucos”, disse ele aos seus discípulos.
38“Portanto, peçam ao Senhor da colheita que chame mais trabalhadores para os seus campos de colheita”.

1ENTONCES entrando en el barco, pasó á la otra parte, y vino á su ciudad.
2Y he aquí le trajeron un paralítico, echado en una cama: y viendo Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo al paralítico: Confía, hijo; tus pecados te son perdonados.
3Y he aquí, algunos de los escribas decían dentro de sí: Este blasfema.
4Y viendo Jesús sus pensamientos, dijo: ¿Por qué pensáis mal en vuestros corazones?
5Porque, ¿qué es más fácil, decir: Los pecados te son perdonados; ó decir: Levántate, y anda?
6Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del hombre tiene potestad en la tierra de perdonar pecados, (dice entonces al paralítico): Levántate, toma tu cama, y vete á tu casa.
7Entonces él se levantó y se fué á su casa.
8Y las gentes, viéndolo, se maravillaron, y glorificaron á Dios, que había dado tal potestad á los hombres.
9Y pasando Jesús de allí, vió á un hombre que estaba sentado al banco de los públicos tributos, el cual se llamaba Mateo; y dícele: Sígueme. Y se levantó, y le siguió.
10Y aconteció que estando él sentado á la mesa en casa, he aquí que muchos publicanos y pecadores, que habían venido, se sentaron juntamente á la mesa con Jesús y sus discípulos.
11Y viendo esto los Fariseos, dijeron á sus discípulos: ¿Por qué come vuestro Maestro con los publicanos y pecadores?
12Y oyéndolo Jesús, les dijo: Los que están sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, sino los enfermos.
13Andad pues, y aprended qué cosa es: Misericordia quiero, y no sacrificio: porque no he venido á llamar justos, sino pecadores á arrepentimiento.
14Entonces los discípulos de Juan vienen á él, diciendo: ¿Por qué nosotros y los Fariseos ayunamos muchas veces, y tus discípulos no ayunan?
15Y Jesús les dijo: ¿Pueden los que son de bodas tener luto entre tanto que el esposo está con ellos? mas vendrán días cuando el esposo será quitado de ellos, y entonces ayunarán.
16Y nadie echa remiendo de paño recio en vestido viejo; porque el tal remiendo tira del vestido, y se hace peor la rotura.
17Ni echan vino nuevo en cueros viejos: de otra manera los cueros se rompen, y el vino se derrama, y se pierden los cueros; mas echan el vino nuevo en cueros nuevos, y lo uno y lo otro se conserva juntamente.
18Hablando él estas cosas á ellos, he aquí vino un principal, y le adoraba, diciendo: Mi hija es muerta poco ha: mas ven y pon tu mano sobre ella, y vivirá.
19Y se levantó Jesús, y le siguió, y sus discípulos.
20Y he aquí una mujer enferma de flujo de sangre doce años había, llegándose por detrás, tocó la franja de su vestido:
21Porque decía entre sí: Si tocare solamente su vestido, seré salva.
22Mas Jesús volviéndose, y mirándola, dijo: Confía, hija, tu fe te ha salvado. Y la mujer fué salva desde aquella hora.
23Y llegado Jesús á casa del principal, viendo los tañedores de flautas, y la gente que hacía bullicio,
24Díceles: Apartaos, que la muchacha no es muerta, mas duerme. Y se burlaban de él.
25Y como la gente fué echada fuera, entró, y tomóla de la mano, y se levantó la muchacha.
26Y salió esta fama por toda aquella tierra.
27Y pasando Jesús de allí, le siguieron dos ciegos, dando voces y diciendo: Ten misericordia de nosotros, Hijo de David.
28Y llegado á la casa, vinieron á él los ciegos; y Jesús les dice: ¿Creéis que puedo hacer esto? Ellos dicen: Sí, Señor.
29Entonces tocó los ojos de ellos, diciendo: Conforme á vuestra fe os sea hecho.
30Y los ojos de ellos fueron abiertos. Y Jesús les encargó rigurosamente, diciendo: Mirad que nadie lo sepa.
31Mas ellos salidos, divulgaron su fama por toda aquella tierra.
32Y saliendo ellos, he aquí, le trajeron un hombre mudo, endemoniado.
33Y echado fuera el demonio, el mudo habló; y las gentes se maravillaron, diciendo: Nunca ha sido vista cosa semejante en Israel.
34Mas los Fariseos decían: Por el príncipe de los demonios echa fuera los demonios.
35Y rodeaba Jesús por todas las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando en las sinagogas de ellos, y predicando el evangelio del reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y todo achaque en el pueblo.
36Y viendo las gentes, tuvo compasión de ellas; porque estaban derramadas y esparcidas como ovejas que no tienen pastor.
37Entonces dice á sus discípulos: A la verdad la mies es mucha, mas los obreros pocos.
38Rogad, pues, al Señor de la mies, que envíe obreros á su mies.

1And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
2And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
3And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
4And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
5For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
6But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
7And he arose, and departed to his house.
8But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
9And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
14Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
15And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
16No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
17Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
18While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
19And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
20And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
21For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
23And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
24He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
25But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
26And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
27And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.
28And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
29Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
30And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
31But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
32As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
33And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
34But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
35And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

1He entered into a boat and crossed over, and came into his own city.
2Behold, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven you.”
3Behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, “This man blasphemes.”
4Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?
5For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk’?
6But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins—” (then he said to the paralytic), “Get up, and take up your mat, and go to your house.”
7He arose and departed to his house.
8But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
9As Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, “Follow me.” He got up and followed him.
10As he sat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.
11When the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
12When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.
13But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
14Then John’s disciples came to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples don’t fast?”
15Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
16No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made.
17Neither do people put new wine into old wineskins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine be spilled, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”
18While he told these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”
19Jesus got up and followed him, as did his disciples.
20Behold, a woman who had a discharge of blood for twelve years came behind him, and touched the fringe of his garment;
21for she said within herself, “If I just touch his garment, I will be made well.”
22But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, “Daughter, cheer up! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
23When Jesus came into the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd in noisy disorder,
24he said to them, “Make room, because the girl isn’t dead, but sleeping.” They were ridiculing him.
25But when the crowd was sent out, he entered in, took her by the hand, and the girl arose.
26The report of this went out into all that land.
27As Jesus passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out and saying, “Have mercy on us, son of David!”
28When he had come into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They told him, “Yes, Lord.”
29Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.”
30Then their eyes were opened. Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, “See that no one knows about this.”
31But they went out and spread abroad his fame in all that land.
32As they went out, behold, a mute man who was demon possessed was brought to him.
33When the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. The multitudes marveled, saying, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!”
34But the Pharisees said, “By the prince of the demons, he casts out demons.”
35Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.
37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
38Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest.”
