Nissuno attacca un pezzo di panno nuovo a un vestito usato: imperocché quella sua giunta porta via qualche cosa al vestito, e la rottura si fa peggiore.

Y nadie echa remiendo de paño recio en vestido viejo; porque el tal remiendo tira del vestido, y se hace peor la rotura.

No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made.
