1But take heed, that ye do not, your righteousness, before men, to be gazed at by them,—otherwise at least, reward, have ye none, with your Father who is in the heavens.
2When, therefore, thou mayest be doing an alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, just as, the hypocrites, do in the synagogues and in the streets—that they may be glorified by men,—Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.
3But, thou, when doing an alms, let not, thy left hand, know what thy right hand is doing;
4that thine alms may be in secret,—and, thy Father, who seeth in secret, will give it back to thee.
5And, when ye may be praying, ye shall not be as the hypocrites, because they love, in the synagogues, and at the corners of the broad ways, to take their stand and pray, that they may shine before men; Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.
6But, thou, when thou wouldest pray, enter into thy closet, and, fastening thy door, pray unto thy Father who is in secret,—and, thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
7And, being at prayer, use not vain repetitions, just like the nations,—for they think, that, in their much speaking, they shall be hoard;
8do not, therefore, make yourselves like them, for God your Father knoweth of what things ye have, need, before ye ask him.
9Thus, therefore pray, ye: Our Father, who art in the heavens,—Hallowed be thy name,
10Come may thy kingdom,—Accomplished be thy will, as in heaven, also on earth:
11Our needful bread, give us, this day;
12And forgive us our debts, as, we also, have forgiven our debtors;
13And bring us not into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
14For, if ye forgive men their faults, Your Father who is in the heavens, will forgive, even you;
15But, if ye forgive not men their faults, neither will your Father forgive, your faults.
16And, when ye may he fasting, become not ye, as the hypocrites, of sullen countenance,—for they darken their looks, that they may appear, unto men, to be fasting: Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.
17But, when, thou, art fasting, anoint thy head, and, thy face, wash,—
18that thou do not appear, unto men, to be fasting, but to thy Father who is in secret,—and, thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
19Be not laying up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where, moth and rust, do tarnish, and where, thieves, dig through and steal;
20but be laying up or yourselves treasures in heaven, where, neither moth nor rust, doth tarnish, and where, thieves, dig not through nor steal:
21for, where, thy treasure, is, there, will be, thy heart also.
22The lamp of the body, is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body, shall be, lighted up;
23But, if thine eye be, evil, thy whole body, shall be, in the dark;—if therefore, the light which is in thee, is, darkness, the darkness, how great!
24No one, unto two masters, can be in service; for either, the one, he will hate, and, the other ,love, or, one, he will hold to, and, the other, despise: Ye cannot be in service, unto God, and, unto Riches.
25For this cause, I say unto you: Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink,—or for your body, what ye shall put on: Is not, the life, more than, the food? And, the body, than, the raiment?
26Observe intently, the birds of the heaven,—that they neither sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns, and yet, your heavenly Father, feedeth, them: Are no, ye, much better than, they?
27But who from among you, being anxious, can add to his stature one cubit?
28And, about clothing, why are ye anxious? Consider well the lilies of the field, how they grow,—they toil not neither do they spin;
29And yet, I say unto you, not even Solomon, in all his glory, was arrayed like, one of these!
30Now, if the grass of the field—which to-day, is, and, to-morrow, into an oven, is cast—God thus adorneth, not much rather, you, little of faith?
31Do not then be anxious saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or Wherewithal shall we be arrayed?
32For, all these things, the nations, seek after,—for your heavenly Father, knoweth, that ye are needing, all these things.
33But be seeking first, the kingdom and its righteousness,—and, all these things, shall be added unto you.
34Do not, then, be anxious for the morrow; for the morrow, will be anxious, for itself: Sufficient for the day, is the evil thereof.

1MIRAD que no hagáis vuestra justicia delante de los hombres, para ser vistos de ellos: de otra manera no tendréis merced de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.
2Cuando pues haces limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las plazas, para ser estimados de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su recompensa.
3Mas cuando tú haces limosna, no sepa tu izquierda lo que hace tu derecha;
4Para que sea tu limosna en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, él te recompensará en público.
5Y cuando oras, no seas como los hipócritas; porque ellos aman el orar en las sinagogas, y en los cantones de las calles en pie, para ser vistos de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
6Mas tú, cuando oras, éntrate en tu cámara, y cerrada tu puerta, ora á tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
7Y orando, no seáis prolijos, como los Gentiles; que piensan que por su parlería serán oídos.
8No os hagáis, pues, semejantes á ellos; porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad, antes que vosotros le pidáis.
9Vosotros pues, oraréis así: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.
10Venga tu reino. Sea hecha tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.
11Danos hoy nuestro pan cotidiano.
12Y perdónanos nuestras deudas, como también nosotros perdonamos á nuestros deudores.
13Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal: porque tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amén.

20Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni polilla ni orín corrompe, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:
21Porque donde estuviere vuestro tesoro, allí estará vuestro corazón.
22La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo: así que, si tu ojo fuere sincero, todo tu cuerpo será luminoso:
23Mas si tu ojo fuere malo, todo tu cuerpo será tenebroso. Así que, si la lumbre que en ti hay son tinieblas, ¿cuántas serán las mismas tinieblas?
24Ninguno puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se llegará al uno y menospreciará al otro: no podéis servir á Dios y á Mammón.
25Por tanto os digo: No os congojéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer, ó qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir: ¿no es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido?
26Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni allegan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?
27Mas ¿quién de vosotros podrá, congojándose, añadir á su estatura un codo?
28Y por el vestido ¿por qué os congojáis? Reparad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;
29Mas os digo, que ni aun Salomón con toda su gloria fué vestido así como uno de ellos.
30Y si la hierba del campo que hoy es, y mañana es echada en el horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no hará mucho más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?
31No os congojéis pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, ó qué beberemos, ó con qué nos cubriremos?
32Porque los Gentiles buscan todas estas cosas: que vuestro Padre celestial sabe que de todas estas cosas habéis menester.
33Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
34Así que, no os congojéis por el día de mañana; que el día de mañana traerá su fatiga: basta al día su afán.

2Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
3But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
4so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
5“When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
6But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
7In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
