1Tende cuidado que não façais obras de justiça diante das pessoas para serdes vistos por elas, pois não tereis recompensa do vosso Pai que está no céu.
2Então, quando derdes esmolas, não toqueis a trombeta diante de vós mesmos como fazem os hipócritas nas sinagogas e nas estradas, a fim de terem o louvor das pessoas. Verdadeiramente eu vos digo: eles já receberam a sua recompensa.
3Todavia, quando derdes esmolas, não deixeis a vossa mão esquerda saber o que a vossa mão direita está fazendo,
4para que as vossas esmolas sejam dadas em segredo; então o vosso Pai, que vê em segredo, vos recompensará.
5E, quando orardes, não sejais como os hipócritas, pois eles amam orar em pé nas sinagogas e nas esquinas das ruas, para serem vistos pelas pessoas. Verdadeiramente eu vos digo que eles já receberam a sua recompensa.
6Mas, quando orardes, entrai nos vossos quartos, fechai a porta, e orai a vosso Pai, que está em segredo; então vosso Pai, que vê em segredo, vos recompensará.
7E, quando orardes, não façais repetições inúteis, como fazem os gentios; pois eles pensam que serão ouvidos por causa de suas muitas palavras.
8Portanto não sejais como eles, pois o vosso Pai sabe do que precisais antes de pedirdes a Ele.
9Portanto orai assim: 'Nosso Pai celestial, santificado seja o Teu nome.
10Que o Teu reino venha. Que a Tua vontade seja feita na terra assim como é feita no céu.
11Dá-nos hoje o nosso pão diário.
12Perdoa as nossas dívidas, assim como nós perdoamos aos nossos devedores.
13E não nos conduzas à tentação, mas livra-nos do maligno.'
14Porque se perdoardes as ofensas das pessoas, vosso Pai celestial também vos perdoará.
15Mas se não perdoardes as ofensas das pessoas, vosso Pai não perdoará as vossas ofensas.
16Além disso, quando jejuardes, não apresenteis tristeza no rosto, como fazem os hipócritas, pois eles desfiguram os seus rostos para demonstrar aparência de pessoas que jejuam. Verdadeiramente Eu vos digo que já receberam a recompensa deles.
17Entretanto vós, quando jejuardes, ungi as vossas cabeças e lavai os vossos rostos,
18para que não demonstreis às pessoas que estais jejuando, mas apenas ao vosso Pai, que está em segredo. E vosso Pai, que vos vê em segredo, vos recompensará.
19Não acumuleis para vós tesouros na terra, onde traça e ferrugem os consomem, e onde ladrões invadem e roubam.
20Em vez disso, acumulai tesouros no céu, onde nem traça nem ferrugem destroem, e onde ladrões não invadem nem roubam.
21Pois onde estiver o vosso tesouro, ali estará também o vosso coração.
22Os olhos são a lâmpada do corpo. Portanto, se os vossos olhos são bons, todo o vosso corpo se encherá com luz.
23Mas, se os vossos olhos são maus, todo o vosso corpo se encherá de trevas. Assim, se a luz que está em vós são na verdade trevas, quão grandes são essas trevas!
24Ninguém pode servir a dois senhores, pois irá odiar a um e amar o outro, ou será devoto de um e desprezará o outro. Não podeis servir a Deus e às riquezas.
25Portanto Eu vos digo: não vos preocupeis com a vossa vida, o que comereis ou o que bebereis, ou acerca do vosso corpo, o que vestireis. Pois a vida não é mais do que a comida, nem o corpo mais do que as roupas?
26Vede as aves do céu: elas não semeiam, nem colhem, nem se ajuntam em celeiros, contudo vosso Pai celestial as alimenta. Não sois muito mais valiosos do que elas?
27E qual dentre vós que, sendo ansioso, pode adicionar um côvado a seu tempo de vida?
28E por que estais ansiosos com o vestuário? Considerai os lírios dos campos, como eles crescem: eles não trabalham e não tecem roupa.
29Ainda assim eu vos digo: até mesmo Salomão em toda a sua glória não se vestiu como um deles.
30Se Deus veste a grama dos campos, que existe hoje e amanhã é lançada ao forno, quanto mais Ele vos vestirá, homens de pequena fé?
31Portanto não estejais ansiosos, dizendo: 'O que comeremos?' ou, 'O que beberemos?' ou, 'Com o que nos vestiremos?'
32Pois os gentios buscam todas essas coisas, e o vosso Pai celestial sabe que precisais de todas elas.
33Mas buscai primeiro o Seu reino e a Sua justiça e então todas essas coisas vos serão providenciadas.
34Portanto não estejais ansiosos pelo amanhã, pois o amanhã trará suas próprias ansiedades. É suficiente ao dia de hoje o seu próprio mal.

1MIRAD que no hagáis vuestra justicia delante de los hombres, para ser vistos de ellos: de otra manera no tendréis merced de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.
2Cuando pues haces limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las plazas, para ser estimados de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su recompensa.
3Mas cuando tú haces limosna, no sepa tu izquierda lo que hace tu derecha;
4Para que sea tu limosna en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, él te recompensará en público.
5Y cuando oras, no seas como los hipócritas; porque ellos aman el orar en las sinagogas, y en los cantones de las calles en pie, para ser vistos de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
6Mas tú, cuando oras, éntrate en tu cámara, y cerrada tu puerta, ora á tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
7Y orando, no seáis prolijos, como los Gentiles; que piensan que por su parlería serán oídos.
8No os hagáis, pues, semejantes á ellos; porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad, antes que vosotros le pidáis.
9Vosotros pues, oraréis así: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.
10Venga tu reino. Sea hecha tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.
11Danos hoy nuestro pan cotidiano.
12Y perdónanos nuestras deudas, como también nosotros perdonamos á nuestros deudores.
13Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal: porque tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amén.
14Porque si perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, os perdonará también á vosotros vuestro Padre celestial.
15Mas si no perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.
16Y cuando ayunáis, no seáis como los hipócritas, austeros; porque ellos demudan sus rostros para parecer á los hombres que ayunan: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
17Mas tú, cuando ayunas, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro;
18Para no parecer á los hombres que ayunas, sino á tu Padre que está en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
19No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompe, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan;
20Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni polilla ni orín corrompe, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:
21Porque donde estuviere vuestro tesoro, allí estará vuestro corazón.
22La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo: así que, si tu ojo fuere sincero, todo tu cuerpo será luminoso:
23Mas si tu ojo fuere malo, todo tu cuerpo será tenebroso. Así que, si la lumbre que en ti hay son tinieblas, ¿cuántas serán las mismas tinieblas?
24Ninguno puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se llegará al uno y menospreciará al otro: no podéis servir á Dios y á Mammón.
25Por tanto os digo: No os congojéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer, ó qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir: ¿no es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido?
26Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni allegan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?
27Mas ¿quién de vosotros podrá, congojándose, añadir á su estatura un codo?
28Y por el vestido ¿por qué os congojáis? Reparad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;
29Mas os digo, que ni aun Salomón con toda su gloria fué vestido así como uno de ellos.
30Y si la hierba del campo que hoy es, y mañana es echada en el horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no hará mucho más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?
31No os congojéis pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, ó qué beberemos, ó con qué nos cubriremos?
32Porque los Gentiles buscan todas estas cosas: que vuestro Padre celestial sabe que de todas estas cosas habéis menester.
33Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
34Así que, no os congojéis por el día de mañana; que el día de mañana traerá su fatiga: basta al día su afán.

1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread.
12And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

1“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
3But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
4so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
5“When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
6But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
7In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
8Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.
9Pray like this: “‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
10Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
12Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
13Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’
